Het is weer het einde van de maand, dat betekend tijd voor een nieuwe [MAG]. We hebben weer ons best gedaan om een mooi blad voor jullie te maken. Why does it rain? Why can’t I hate on anything else at this moment? Is it because I am in a sling for 3 weeks to rest my ripped muscle because of some fucked up Frenchies who forgot to catch me when I stagedived, resulting in a K.O. for 3 seconds and having the most pain for 45 min I EVER had.
I don’t know anymore, I know that I am tired of Dutch weather and its lack of sun.

Davie Nijenbrink. De eerste [MAG] Edit challenge was een groot succes. Meer dan 15 inzendingen, die uit een liepen van snelle iphone edits tot hele reconstructies van the Office. Een snelle stem ronde op Facebook wees al snel Davie als winnaar aan. Gefeliciteerd! Wil je meer zien van Davie, blader dan vooral door, want hij heeft verderop in dit nummer een korte mini profile! Verderop in de [MAG] vind je ook de edit challenge van deze maand vinden. De deadline is iets korter, maar dat zorgt er voor dat we de tijd hebben om een jury alle inzendingen te laten beoordelen!

Antwoorden van Hans Het is alweer vijf jaar terug dat Hans “Hockey” Hardonk prominent op de cover van de [MAG] stond, met de welbekende vraag: Wat vind Hans er van? Nu, vijf jaar later, is het ons eindelijk gelukt om Hans bereid te krijgen uitsluitstel te geven over wat hij nou eigenlijk overal van vind! Beste Hans, het is tijd voor antwoorden. Wat vind je daarvan? Lumineus en een eer! We gaan eerst even terug de tijd in, toen de vraag voor het eerst gesteld werd. The Adapt TorsionMount.
WHAT IS THE TORSIONMOUNT? The Adapt TorsionMount is a new system that incorporates the SixMount system that Adapt introduced in 2013 with a new Torsion bar that is embedded into the base of the shell. The Torsion bar is a laser cut stainless steel bar of 2mm thick that greatly improves the rigidity of the shell which increases responsiveness and the overall lifespan of the skate. The Torsion bar has slots on each side of the bar in which 2 bolt receptors are placed. The bolt receptor holds 1 UFS bolt and 2 SixMount bolts. They are specifically designed to fit into the Torsion bar slots and are CNC machined in house. The slots enable you to slide the bolt receptors about 2mm sideways in each direction. This means that you can adjust the position of your frame and soulplate opposed to the boot. This means that you can perfectly align the frame and soulplate in the middle of the boot, but if you like you can also adjust it differently. For instance, if you want to make it easier to do topside grinds, you can slide the bolts a bit inward so you automatically lean a bit more outward. Or, if you have the tendency to fall inwards or outwards a bit due to weak ankles, you can fix this problem by adjusting the set up as well.
EMBEDDING THE TORSION BAR Instead of simply placing the torsion bar on top of the shell, we embedded the bar into the shell. This vastly improves rigidity and strength of the shell. The bar is embedded into the shell by placing the bar onto the wooden mold on which the shell is created. The layers of carbon and carbon kevlar are then placed on top of the bar and the mold is then put into a vacuum oven. The mold is then removed from the shell and the torsion bar is now incorporated into the shell.
