Team Edison hits the road for the annual Ashland excursion to see the Oregon Shakespeare Festival!

Together, Edison students spent 3,429 hours volunteering. They worked with 91 different organizations.

Dedicating 369 hours directly to Edison High School.

COMMUNITY PARTNER: TA YEIYARI, OUR ROOTS PROJECT

In 2021, Edison teamed up with Marcela Alcantar, an alumni parent whose son Roman graduated in 2022, and introduced us to the Ta Yeiyari (My Roots Shall Exist) project This service project has students create a shoebox filled with gifts for children in a small Indigenous community in rural Mexico. Marcela began this project to help her and Roman reconnect with their Indigenous roots and, together, brought that connection to Edison

The project is a catalyst for students to think beyond themselves, prompting creativity while crafting meaningful gifts for children outside their immediate environment. When asked about bringing this initiative to Edison, Marcela shared, “I don't even have the words, it's so deep there is just this immense sense of gratitude ”

Edison High School and Jesuit High School have a long-standing, collaborative relationship. Our innovative "hybrid program" allows students to take up to three classes at either school

This program enables the two schools to work together to best meet the needs of each student. Many Edison students participate in sports, theater, music, religious education and retreats, and other extracurricular activities offered by Jesuit in addition to benefitting from their diverse course offerings.

Jesuit students who need additional learning support can benefit from Edison's smaller class size and specialized instruction

It is incredibly special for me to be part of the Jesuit theater department while attending Edison. I have succeeded in my core classes at Edison, which has allowed me to spend my afterschool hours in the theater

When I arrived at Jesuit I immediately felt at home in the theater department Jesuit’s former Theatre Director, Jeff Hall, taught me many life skills, how to be a leader, and gave me lots of responsibility and trust, allowing me to design lighting for most of their main stage shows

Campbell Shaw ‘24

Edison-Jesuit Hybrid Student

Jesuit students took 72 95 classes at Edison. Edison students took 35 60 classes at Jesuit. In the 2022-23 school year:
