01 Living in NoHo NYC
type. residential building area.
18,560 sq. ft. site location. NoHo, Manhattan
The apartment is a 10-storey tall complex reaching a height of 106 feet. The building footprint is dimensioned at 80 feet by 232 feet. The individual apartment units are dimensioned at 13 feet by 30 feet, allocating 390 square feet per unit. Each unit utilizes a double-height to distinguish between living/dining and study/rest. This creates a harmonious connection between the apartment complex and the surrounding environment. Beneath the collection of apartment units exists the bookstore cafe/ lobby for residents/ non-residents to congregate. It serves users by providing pedestrians with a place for rest from the streets of New York. It is a place for study, work, and interaction.
02 ECOWAS cultural center .
type. civic building area. 21,400 sq. ft. site location. topeka, kansas
The ECOWAAS cultural center promotes the integration of culture and to establish a unique relationship between the cultural aspects of the building, the organizations, and its users. The form is greatly inspired by inverted ziggurats.
The interior quality reveals the openness between the different levels in order to emphasizes the vertical movement. Moreover, these transitory spaces surround the “cultural core” (voided, structurally exposed spaces with sunken floors that define spaces for large public gatherings) which establishes a connection between each individual level. Overall, the different aspects of the cultural hub are designed with sculpting in mind which extend to the sculpted form of the building to the gallery and theater activities that occur within.

OASIS
transience in tulsa.
type. commercial building area. 22,500 sq. ft. site location. tulsa, oklahoma
OASIS is heavily inspired by the theme of transience and permanence. The building represents a moment in one's journey through Oklahoma. It marks a place of stay for travelers and a place of congregation for the community. The 6-story building is separated into three programmatic levels. The first and second contain the co-working and food halls, respectively. Both are meant to temporary interactions. The levels beyond contain the hotel, with units ranging from 300 to 500 square feet, meant to become a place of extended stay.
This theme is continued throughout the building in the facade as it wraps around and erodes at various points. It indicates openings, entries, and the point between the street corner and OASIS. Vegetation and greenery are integrated to further compliment the organic forms created through erosion

agricultural innovation hub.
type. research and innovation center area. 17,664 sq. ft. site location. thies, senegal
The CERAAS agricultural innovation center provides a new facility for researchers and local inhabitants. The building situates itself towards existing facilities enabling ease of access and travel from older buildings to the newly established center. Circulation is diverse but directed by level and materiality through locally sourced resources. Furthermore, they support the corrugated tin roof that spans across the building to shelter the building during rainy seasons.
In response to the climate, local techniques are utilized to prevent heat gains as well as light through perforations throughout the roof structure. Ventilation and concerns of wind are channeled through tall, large roof-protruding wind tunnels that service the different parts of the program. Hot air rises through wind tunnels. Meanwhile, the cool air sinks. The combination of these systems enable comfort and promote a center to house an extensive array of individuals.
