Other spec highlights include the Mavic/Shimano wheels shod with Continental 26x2.2” tyres, the SRAM X.7/X.9 transmission and the Avid Elixir brakes. The FSA handlebars and the short beefy stem sharpens up the steering response. The Triad’s sub-30lb hardtail nimbleness means it’s still good for romping up hill. To sum up, this Triad is a tool that will help you zero in on the best line to take. It truly is the ultimate hardcore hardtail.

The all-new Triad Zero is built to take full advantage of the Rockshox Revelation SL Dual Air. (We defy you to find another sub-£1,000 bike that comes with this £500 fork). The Revelation’s 150mm travel obliged us to create a brand new frame with squared tubing at the business end to reinforce the top tube/down tube intersection. The same logic impelled us to spec a front wheel that employs the Maxle Lite 20mm thru-axle. Threaded directly into the Revelation’s fork end, the Maxle Lite doesn’t just stiffen up the fork/wheel interface, it’s also amazingly satisfying to operate. Use the Maxle once and you will never want to revert to spindly QRs or fiddly nuts to secure/remove your MTB’s front wheel.
