PROJECT ACTIVITIES
GAMES AND PLAY CLUB
According to Piaget the process of play offers at children their own means of expression, necessary for their relationship with her reality as the process that takes place is the assimilation of existing structures and their application to new situations.
Τhe first activity developed in our program is to introduce children to toys from all countries. So each country sent a game to the other. The children had the opportunity to get to know these games and then play them in class.
n the following period and as part of the school game’s day, the students of the school took part in traditional games held in the school yard.
THE HOLE OVEN (traditional game)
A circle is made that is divided into as many places as the children are. Everyone chooses a country and writes it in their place.
In the center of the circle they put a ball.
To start the game a child kicks and the child who will start the game is selected.
The child shouts:
"Let the country stay in the furnace hole ......" and throws the ball high. The child who has this country goes to catch the ball. Then he shouts: 1,2,3, stop. Players who have left the circle remain motionless. The child with the ball calculates the distance in steps from the child. If he calculates the distance correctly the other child gets a lice. If he miscalculates then he gets that lice.
Any child who collects 5 lice is the loser of the game. The other children then put him to the test that an animal can do or walk with one foot for a distance.
