Serving the Community For Generations.

During the 1920s, the Old Lincoln Hotel sat at the corner of North Cate and East Charles Streets in Downtown Hammond. A horse stable occupied the downstairs floor, while upstairs functioned as the hotel. Locals would leave their carriages at the hotel before boarding the train to head to New Orleans or Chicago. While the building's purpose has changed over the decades, it has served as the home of Seale & Ross: A Professional Law Corporation for over 46 years. Just as the bones of this 1895 building stand strong, Seale & Ross has remained a steady, reliable resource for clients and the community for 52 years.

The firm was founded in 1973 by T. Jay Seale and Kenneth L. Ross. Their individual skill and specialties contribute to the firm’s long-term success. Jay, often regarded as the mentor at the firm, provides guidance and expertise to all

attorneys, regardless of their experience level. As a retired General in the Air National Guard, Ken thrives in the operations and management side of the business. With the synergy of Jay and Ken’s management styles, they have created a space for their attorneys and business to thrive. Although Jay and Ken have transitioned to part-time roles, they remain actively involved in the firm's practice, providing guidance to the next generation of leaders.

That next generation includes Lesli Bolner and Nicole Roberts Dillon, who now serve as Managing Partners, ensuring the firm’s day-to-day excellence and growth. They describe the firm as more than a workplace —it’s a family.

New and exciting changes have taken place within th e firm recently. Lesli Bolner and Nicole Roberts Dillon serve as Managing Partners. T ogether, they ensure the firm continues to offer the community exceptional servic e. Ron Macaluso rejoined the firm, where he continues to practice law and serve as a m entor to other attorneys. Ron says his return to Seale & Ross “felt like he was coming home.” Rebecca Gilson was named a partner and is eager to take on more responsibiliti es. Kristen Stanley-Wallace joined the firm as St. Tammany Lead Counsel and is excited to embrace the firm’s culture.

Tonurture that environment, Seale & Ross hosts an annual family crawfish boil, a Christmas party, anniversary celebrations, and monthly luncheons.

A favorite tradition is “Wine, Wisdom, and the Practice of Law,” where attorneys gather for a social hour while educating one another about specific areas of law.

Seale & Ross treats every client like family, offering trusted legal guidance across all areas of practice—from family, corporate, and governmental law to estate planning, property, and litigation. Their attorneys are committed to supporting clients through every stage and area of life.

Seale & Ross operates regionally, serving clients in Baton Rouge, Livingston Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, St. Tammany Parish, and the South Shore. Offices are located in Hammond, Madisonville, and Metairie.

The firm is deeply entrenched in the community, with attorneys actively involved in local organizations and nonprofits. With three generations of attorneys working side by side, Seale & Ross continues to uphold its legacy: delivering exceptional services with the strength and stability that only decades of experience can provide.

VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION

NOVEMBER 1ST

DOWNTOWN PONCHATOULA

COURAGE, SACRIFICE, HONOR

Tangipahoa’s first-ever memorial celebration honors veterans by recognizing their bravery, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment to our freedom.

Parish Councilwoman Strader Dufreche Cieutat, along with the Downtown Ponchatoula Revitalization, the American Legion Post 47, the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1052, and a large committee of parish residents, have come together to organize a heartwarming Veterans Memorial parade and celebration. The celebration of Veterans Day will be held on November 1, 2025. It will begin at 9:30 am with a parade traveling along Ponchatoula’s main street and ending at Memorial Park for a celebration lasting until 2 pm.

Tangipahoa Parish’s City of Ponchatoula has the distinction of being Louisiana’s first Purple Heart city. The Purple Heart is awarded to those wounded or killed in action and signifies that a service member has paid a heavy price, sometimes risking everything in the line of duty.

Councilwoman Cieutat was quick to clarify that the event is not just for Veterans Day, but as a celebration of every veteran across the entire parish.

The committee wanted to find a meaningful way to thank veterans for their dedication, sacrifice, and bravery. As a result, they have planned an unforgettable day. The parade plans include color guards bearing the flags, bands playing military music, floats and other vehicles carrying veterans, veterans on motorcycles escorting a float that honors the MIA (Missing in Action ) and POW (Prisoners of War), veterans from the Sheriff’s office riding horses, local military units with their military equipment, and veterans of the USS Ponchatoula riding in perhaps a boat.

Leading it all: Mr. George Van Zandt proudly serving as Grand Marshal in the Inaugural Tangipahoa Veterans Parade.

For most, turning 101 is a milestone worth celebrating quietly. For local resident and WWII Veteran George Van Zandt, it’s another opportunity to serve his community. This year, he will be honored as the Grand Marshal of Tangipahoa Parish’s very first Veterans Day Parade, a role he accepted with a humble smile and a condition which he was quick to share.

At the park, the event will begin with a special opening ceremony by the Victory Belles, recognizing military honor recipients along with an invocation, a flag-raising, and the singing of the National Anthem by country musician David St. Romain. Veterans groups and military service organizations will have information tables. The Swing 101 Band and other live entertainment are booked. A tribute wall, military-related displays, and a vintage car show are in the works.

Highlighted participants include 101-year-old veteran George Van Zandt, and International Mrs. Louisiana 2025, Courtney Strickland-Vircari. Members of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart are also planning to join in the celebration.

For more information, visit Ponchatoula Celebrates Veterans on Facebook or contact Strader Cieutat directly at 985-355-0588 or district10@gmail.com.

“This event is intended to honor veterans from all of Tangipahoa Parish. Although it is being held in Ponchatoula, everyone is welcome, and all veterans will be celebrated.”

“I reminded them that I am 101 and a half,” he said, “I’ll be there if the good Lord’s willing and the creek don’t rise.”

During his service, he spent 654 days in combat, including 121 days when his division advanced 5,000 feet up a mountain in Japan to secure control. Though he’s grateful for the honor, Mr. Van Zandt has a sobering perspective on memorials. “Shiny guns, shiny boots, and polished uniforms aren’t what combat looks like,” he said. “Combat is death and dead bodies. But if the memorial makes them happy, I’ll be happy with them.”

Despite his own memories of war, Mr. Van Zandt recognizes the importance of community remembrance and is proud to lead the way—hopefully in a classic military Jeep, if all goes as planned.

NEW INDUSTRIES

FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN TANGIPAHOA PARISH

Economic development in Tangipahoa Parish is evolving with a focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable growth. Under the leadership of Economic Development Director Ginger Cangelosi, the parish is embracing new industries that see Tangipahoa as a prime location to grow and thrive. Two standout examples are SkyX and Delta AgroFiber Solutions, each pioneering progress in aviation and agriculture, respectively.

SKYX: RAISING THE BAR IN AVIATION EXCELLENCE

SkyX is redefining aviation services across the Gulf Region with a full suite of offerings, including aircraft maintenance, fueling, executive charter services, and a Fixed Base Operations (FBO) center. Led by aviation professionals Rob and Ashley Scariano, the company is built on a foundation of excellence, safety, and customer service.

Rob Scariano’s 25-year career in aviation began in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Crew Chief during missions across Europe and the Middle East. His extensive experience as a commercial pilot and operator has shaped SkyX’s high standards and operational precision.

In 2025, SkyX will open a new full-service FBO at Hammond Northshore Regional Airport. The facility is poised to be one of Louisiana’s top five FBOs, offering modern amenities and comprehensive aviation services. This development will bring increased commercial traffic to Hammond, create jobs, and strengthen the airport’s role as a regional aviation hub.

Tangipahoa’s strategic location—at the crossroads of Interstates 12 and 55 offers unmatched accessibility to Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. SkyX’s investment reinforces Hammond’s potential as a key destination for private and commercial aviation in the Gulf South. The Scariano family credits local leadership with helping their vision take flight. Cangelosi, Parish President Robby Miller, and Hammond Mayor Pete Panepinto have provided critical support and guidance to align the project with Tangipahoa’s long-term growth goals.

“Today’s economic development model is about helping entrepreneurs succeed,” said Cangelosi. “Our office is here to provide the guidance, encouragement, and expertise they need to move forward on a path to success.”

DELTA AGROFIBER SOLUTIONS: BUILDING A GREENER AG FUTURE

Delta AgroFiber Solutions is reshaping the role of industrial hemp in Louisiana’s economy. Co-founded by engineer and entrepreneur Shawn Ledig and farmer Amy Harrell, Delta is developing an innovative agri-business model from its base in Tangipahoa Parish.

The company supports farmers with seed distribution, soil health solutions, and buyback programs for fiber and biochar. Their work emphasizes regenerative agriculture, carbon sequestration, and sustainable industry—all centered on non-consumable hemp, which is used for textiles, bioplastics, building materials, and biofuels.

Delta’s partnership with Southern University Ag Center and LSU AgCenter, backed by a USDA grant, has led to the planting of over 50 acres of hemp. Tangipahoa’s own R&D test farm, run by Harrell, is showcasing the plant’s versatility. With up to three harvests possible per year, the opportunity is scalable and profitable for farmers.

Non-consumable hemp refers to parts of the plant used for industrial purposes—not for ingestion or smoking. Regulated by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry (LDAF), this form of hemp offers unique environmental benefits such as carbon capture, soil detoxification, and biodegradable alternatives to plastics and synthetic materials.

Delta’s model is gaining traction with 17 farms operating on 300 acres and growing interest from farmers across the region. Their support structure—offering seeds, training, and guaranteed buyback—removes the barriers for farmers to adopt this high-impact crop.

“Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development Director Ginger Cangelosi has been an invaluable resource, always available to answer questions and provide guidance. She clearly recognizes the continued importance and potential of the agri-industry in Tangipahoa Parish.”

A FUTURE ROOTED IN INNOVATION

SkyX and Delta AgroFiber Solutions reflect Tangipahoa Parish’s commitment to fostering innovation and diversifying its economic base. Whether through aviation infrastructure or sustainable agriculture, these companies are turning ideas into engines for job creation, environmental progress, and long-term regional prosperity.

Good Times, Great Friends, Smart Choices

Tailgating is a proud tradition here in Louisiana—good food, spirited fans, and a community atmosphere that makes game day special. But one tradition we can all do without is underage or irresponsible drinking. Alcohol at tailgate parties can create unsafe situations, especially in crowded areas with families, children, and college students.

Tips for Safer and Memorable Tailgate Parties

• Bring Plenty of Non-Alcoholic Options

Stock up on water, sports drinks, sodas, iced tea, or even creative mocktails.

• Focus on the Food

Make the grill the star – burgers, jambalaya, BBQ, or themed snacks. A great menu keeps everyone happy and busy.

• Plan Fun Activities

Set up cornhole, ladder toss, or football trivia. Games keep the energy high without alcohol.

• Create a Family-Friendly Zone

Encourage friends to bring kids, and set up a space with music, snacks, and kid-friendly games.

• Be the Example

Show that tailgating can be just as fun without alcohol—your guests will follow your lead.

"If alcohol is present, remind everyone to not Drink and Drive and set up Designated Drivers."

Enjoy the music, savor the food, cheer on your favorite team, and create memories that last a lifetime. A safe tailgate is the best tailgate, and that means no drinking at tailgate parties.

The Breathe Well ConneCTion, a mobile lung cancer screening unit operated by St. Tammany Health System, is the second vehicle in the health system’s fleet designed to bring care directly into the community. The other is the Be Well Bus, which has been offering mobile mammograms since May 2021.

In its continuing effort to combat stubbornly low population health metrics in South Louisiana, St. Tammany Health System recently rolled out its latest mobile screening unit, a first-inthe-region lung screening vehicle designed to bring potentially life-saving cancer screenings directly into the community.

The Breathe Well ConneCTion joins the health system’s Be Well Bus, a mobile mammography unit in service since May 2021, in crisscrossing the parish to visit local festivals, health fairs and other community gatherings.

“Our longstanding commitment to our Northshore friends and neighbors is right there in our health system’s motto: to deliver world-class healthcare close to home for everyone we serve,” health system President and CEO Joan Coffman said. “Thanks to the Be Well Bus, and now the Breathe Well ConneCTion, that care is closer to home than ever before.”

Retired professional football player Rich Mauti talks about his post-football passion – raising money for cancer research and treatment – with Dr. Tará Lopez, dean of the Southeastern Louisiana University College of Business, aboard the brand-new Breathe Well ConneCTion.

In addition to providing quick and painless lung screenings through an advanced low-dose CT unit, the Breathe Well ConneCTion also employs AI-powered technology to offer a multi-organ approach that further addresses coronary calcium in the heart, aorta measurements, and bone density in the vertebrae.

“These really are remarkable tools, and I applaud everyone who helped make it become a reality,” Coffman said. “Now let’s roll!”

She was joined by other health system leaders and local community stakeholders, including local gridiron hero Rich Mauti, whose family-run Mauti Cancer Fund provided key funding, in the amount of $500,000, to put the bus on the road.

“This thing does maybe 2,500, - 3,000 screenings a year,” Mauti said. “That’s a lot of people, and if we catch one and save one life, it’s well worth it. I’m humbled to be here to kick this thing off. … I’m so confident we’re just going to knock it out of the park.”

Behind Kathleen is the low-dose CT unit used to detect potential cancers in patients.

St. Tammany Health System Chief Operating Officer Jack Khashou said the Breathe Well ConneCTion is a four-wheeled embodiment of the health system’s commitment to the community, pointing out that Louisiana currently ranks near the bottom of the list nationally when it comes to early diagnosis.

“We want to help change that,” Khashou said. “This is why we do it. This is why we embrace opportunities like this: because we know that we can impact lives in a positive way.”

In an illustration of the Breathe Well ConneCTion’s value to the community, its introduction coincided with a free screening event for local firefighters, as called for in a 2024 act of the state Legislature in acknowledgment of firefighters’ increased risk for cancer due to the nature of their work.

“I am grateful for St Tammany Health System providing convenient, mobile health screenings for first responders of our community – the very people we rely on in life’s most difficult moments,” local State Rep. Kim Carver said in a statement. “It’s hard to imagine a more impactful service – making vital screenings easier and more accessible for the heroes we depend on!”

Wolf Hill

Wedding Venue

Where Every Detail Meets Peace of Mind

Written by Artie Johns | Photos by Danielle Wilkinson

Tucked just 12 minutes from downtown Hammond in the quiet community of Loranger, Wolf Hill Wedding Venue isn’t just a place to say “I do.” It’s a promise of peace of mind on one of life’s biggest days. Owner Sandy Braddy has made it her mission to anticipate every possible wedding-day hiccup and fix it before it ever reaches the bride or groom.

“I felt like it was God’s plan... So, we decided to do it, and do it right.” ~ Sandy Braddy

“I tried to think of everything that could go wrong on a wedding day and fix it before it happens,” Braddy says. That forward-thinking approach means a full-property generator in case of power outages, a rain-ready backup plan, and two interchangeable ceremony locations: the open-air Sunset Peninsula and the elegant indoor chapel, each designed with matching arches so décor flows seamlessly, rain or shine. Braddy even became ordained so she can step in if an officiant doesn’t show.

Wolf Hill’s commitment to couples doesn’t stop at preparation; it extends to generosity. Braddy includes décor, catering services, beverages, and countless extras in her packages, avoiding the hidden fees that are all too common in the industry. “Everything is in our package except alcohol,” she explains. “What you get here for the amount you spend is unbeatable.”

The venue’s story is rooted in love, specifically, the love story of Sandy’s daughter Kylee. Born with special needs, Kylee’s path to marriage was something the family never anticipated. But when she met her now-husband Chase, everything changed. Inspired by their fairy-tale romance, Sandy and her husband Clay built the chapel, lakeside ceremony site, and landscaped grounds originally just for Kylee’s wedding.

As Sandy shared updates on social media, interest poured in. Strangers drove out to see the property, asking to book their own celebrations. “I felt like it was God’s plan,” she says. “So we decided to do it, and to do it right.”

Today, Wolf Hill remains a family-run labor of love. Relatives coordinate weddings, manage landscaping, and even operate a photo booth business on-site. Longtime friend Mickey Watson of LoLA Catering handles food and bar services, ensuring every event feels as personal as it is polished.

Inside, the venue offers a grand reception hall for up to 300 guests, a luxurious bridal suite, and a speakeasy-style groom’s quarters complete with rich décor and a relaxed, private atmosphere. Grooms can fish in the stocked pond or enjoy a hot shave from an on-call barber, thoughtful touches Sandy added to ensure the guys have just as much fun as the bridesmaids.

It’s no surprise the calendar fills quickly. All 2026 Saturdays are already booked, with 2027 dates now open. Fridays and Sundays offer smaller wedding options, while rehearsal dinners are hosted on Thursdays. Weddings are the heart of Wolf Hill, yet the venue also welcomes banquets, corporate gatherings, showers, family reunions, and intimate micro weddings on select dates. For details and availability, inquiries can be sent to lolacateringmw@gmail.com. Future plans include a honeymoon suite as well as overnight lodging and RV hookups. Until then, Sandy personally recommends local hotels and AirBnBs for accommodations.

Every element of Wolf Hill reflects preparation, hospitality, and faith. Wolf Hill is located at 51444 Hwy 443 in Loranger. Scan the QR code below or visit wolfhillvenue.com for more information and to schedule a tour.

As Sandy says, “No matter what happens, your day will be beautiful. At the end of the day, you’ll be married, and that’s what matters most.”

After spending a combined fifteen years in the restaurant, competition cooking, and BBQ business, coming back home to start Lola Catering was the definition of a full circle. We as a family have been catering together for as long as our children can remember. Now, both of my children, Caroline Daniels and Carson Watson, are involved and helping me lead this wonderful venture with Wolf Hill. My wife, Lanette, and I were excited about the opportunity to be a part of this wedding venue. Not only has this allowed us to move home to Tangipahoa Parish, but it has also enabled us to showcase some of the beloved dishes we have perfected through the years.

Having performed mobile catering through the years, we realized that we could best serve our clients and staff with a home base. Lola Catering at Wolf Hill has allowed us to cater to the details, a quality that sets us apart. WEDDINGS

Right Florist Right Florist

From the bridal bouquet to centerpieces, flowers play a significant role in setting the tone and atmosphere. With numerous options, selecting the ideal wedding florist can be a challenge, but understanding what to look for—and knowing the right questions to ask—can blossom into the perfect setting for your wedding day.

DEFINE YOUR STYLE AND VISION

Florists specialize in various styles, so make sure you’re aligned with someone whose creative approach compliments your vision. Reviewing portfolios on their website or social media is a great way to start.

SET A BUDGET

Flowers can account for a significant portion of the wedding budget, so it’s essential to determine what you’re comfortable spending. Setting a budget early will help narrow down your options and ensure you’re upfront with florists about your expectations. Many florists offer packages, while others prefer to work from a more customized pricing structure

REQUEST A DETAILED PROPOSAL

After narrowing down your choices, request a detailed proposal from each florist, including a breakdown of the cost per arrangement and any additional fees (such as delivery, setup, and breakdown). This document should outline everything, ensuring you understand what is included and helping you avoid any surprise expenses.

Meeting potential florists in person (or via video call) is a great way to assess their compatibility with your personality and vision. Schedule consultations to discuss your ideas and ask key questions to evaluate their expertise and ability to work within your budget and preferences.

A HUB FOR ALL OF THE DAY-OF DETAILS

Planning a wedding can be both exciting and a bit overwhelming, but creating a wedding website can help you stay organized and share your joy with everyone. It’s like having a personal online wedding assistant that keeps all the important details in one easy-to-find spot — and your guests will love it too!

Instead of answering the same questions repeatedly, you can put all that information on your site. Guests will be in the know before planning their trip, deciding what to wear, or making room reservations. And if plans change, you can update your site instantly, saving everyone from confusion or missed messages.

Plus, a wedding website gives you a chance to add some personal flair. Share your love story, post favorite photos, or tell guests about your journey together. It’s a great way to make your celebration more meaningful and help everyone feel connected even before the “I do” moment.

Handling guest lists is a breeze with built-in RSVP forms. Guests can reply online, tell you their meal preferences, or note if they have any special requests. This makes organizing the seating, food, and

accommodations so much easier — no more chasing down an RSVP or sifting through paper responses.

Your website can act as a one-stop shop for all the details: venue directions, hotel options, transportation info, and gift registries. Everything guests need is just a click away, making their experience smooth and stress-free.

As the wedding day approaches, your website can serve as a place to send gentle reminders, countdowns, or style tips for the big day. It keeps everyone excited and ready to celebrate. It’s the perfect tool to keep everyone in the loop and ensure your special day is truly unforgettable.

A great place to begin is at theknot.com, where they offer free websites that include customizable templates and easy-to-follow instructions.
