Fasten your seatbelts from the editor by Tim Miejan

I

have to admit that it was a trip getting through Dolores Cannon’s new book, The Three Waves of Volunteers and The New Earth [see interview on page 23]. I did so on the advice of longtime friend Ralph Wolf of Mason City, IA, who emailed me that he had already read half of the book and considered it a significant piece of work. I have read several of the many books in which Dolores has reported on actual case studies of hypnotherapy sessions. She uses a unique technique to delve deeply into the “Superconscious” and retrieve information beyond this reality. And if that weren’t enough, her technique includes a healing component, an immediate restoration of the body to health, even for those who suffer from life-threatening conditions. During sessions, some of her clients describe themselves as light beings before they came into human form. They describe crystal cities and holodecks. They talk of space travel and what we would call alien abductions…but what they call our willing participation in scientific research. And while under hypnosis, speaking from past lifetimes off of this planet, clients express the concern of members of interstellar councils about the monumental transformation now underway on Earth. They say extraterrestrial beings are jumping at the chance to be born into a human body…now… at this very time in Earth’s history, to witness the vibrational shift taking place on this planet firsthand. I’m aware that for many casual readers of The Edge, it may be too far out there to suggest that ETs are being born into human bodies in order to save the planet, and that people are being cured of cancer by their own “Superconscious” selves.

But what is science fiction for some people is reality for others. Some find it comforting to read books or attend lectures and receive confirmation that they indeed are multi-dimensional beings living a human existence. Some people find that information reported by Dolores Cannon and others helps to answer questions and explain feelings that are surfacing from the depths of their being. The beauty of life on Earth is that each of us, a fragment of God, creates an experience of life that is so profoundly personal – and yet, one that is always connected to All That Is. While we don’t all believe in the same things, we share more than we know in common. An eternal optimist, I hope that what Dolores is writing about, essentially, is an awakening of humanity. After a deep sleep, a selfinduced coma perhaps, humankind is opening its eyes and is beginning to recognize the love that connects its parts. When tornados destroy homes and floods swallow cities, people respond with love and generosity. They pull together and share their resources to help the disenfranchised to rebuild their lives. On 9/11, an entire nation came together as one. I believe that’s what Earth needs now from us. Oneness. A shared commitment to assist those in harm’s way. Open hearts. In the end, I sit in my body and you sit in yours. Together, we ride this planet as it revolves, and in this moment, we can choose how we want to proceed. With fear. With hope. Sufi Holy Man brings message of peace, prayer to Minnesota The head teacher at one of the three holiest mosques in Islam will be in Minnesota on September 2-4 to deliver a message of peace, love, mercy, justice and freedom from the Muslim world. Shaykh Muhammad Said al-Jamal ar-Rifa’i ash-Shadhuli, affectionately called Sidi by his seven million students worldwide, is a prominent spiritual leader at the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. He is head of the Higher Sufi Council in Jerusalem and the Holy Land and a long-time advocate of world peace.   His teachings in Minnesota will take place September 2-4 hosted by the Minnesota Sufi Center. To register, please call 763.537.4907, or email Maryam Fauchier at maryam.fauchier@goldengate.net or Rahim Fauchier at rahim.fauchier@goldengate.net. Complete details are available at www.suficentermn.org. Sidi is a descendent of the Prophet Muhammad through his ancestor, Shaykh Ahmad ar-Rifa`i. He was born in Tulkum in the Holy Land in 1935. He is the spiritual inheritor through the Shadhili line from his Guide and Master, Shaykh Abdu-r-Rahman Abu-r-Risah of Halab in the land of Syria, and is one who has kept Sufism alive and at work as an institution, and as a school of thought and spiritual knowledge. In 1997 Sidi restored the 1,000-year-old Sufi Council that served in the Holy Land. He has been a teacher and central figure at the Masjid al-Aqsa or the Dome of the Rock for many years. A retired judge, Sidi made his first visit to America in 1994 and has continued to be invited here each year to give seminars and teach at schools and centers across the United States. Recognized by world leaders as an international spiritual guide, Sidi was one of the primary speakers invited to the United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit in August 2000. a

Retreat celebrates common ground of love between Muslims, Christians When Muslim Sufi minister Jamal Rahman and Franciscan nun Gabriele Uhlein come together with Jean Feraca of Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Here on Earth” on August 12-14 at the Christine Center, the Center anticipates a lively, inquisitive conversation. This coming together of diverse spiritual teachers, facilitated by Feraca, will be both a celebration and a time to discover a common ground for everyone who participates in the weekend retreat. Uhlein, a Franciscan scholar, draws her enthusiasm for the dialogue from the historic meeting of St. Francis of Assisi and the Sultan at the time of the Crusades. “Imagine the surprise of St. Francis when he discovered precious Islamic teachings so aligned with his own Christian understanding of the spiritual journey,” says Sister Gabriele. “Hearing and participating in the wisdom of the Sufis transformed his spiritual practice.” Co-leading the weekend event is Jamal Rahman, an internationally-known spiritual leader who was originally from Bangladesh. He makes his home in Seattle, and travels frequently to the Holy Land to lead interfaith retreats with a Rabbi and Christian minister. His book, Three Amigos, shares the faith experience of these three great religious traditions. “Only that which comes from the heart can open another heart,” says Jamal Rahman. The Christine Center offers this retreat to all who are curious about how to pray with others beyond one’s own tradition. Participants will explore the unfamiliar names of God and experience how the longing for such basic things as peace, forgiveness and love transcends our differences. Kryon Q & A

…with Lee Carroll

L

ee Carroll has channeled Kryon for 22 years worldwide and is the author of the Kryon Series of 15 books in 24 languages. Having presented seven times at the United Nations in New York, as well as in more than 24 different countries overseas, Lee attracts audiences in the thousands with his lectures that bring a message of love, empowerment and unity for Humanity. Mixed with scientific validations, humor and personal stories, his lectures are favorites within the New Age community.

Who is Kryon and what is his purpose? Lee Carroll: The best 3D answer I can give you is that Kryon is an extremely wise and

loving angelic energy who gives me a constant love wash and information that is empowering to Humanity. The non-3D answer that if we are all part of creator, then I am part of who Kryon is also. Therefore you might say that Kryon and I are partners in opening a door to “the God inside,” allowing me to give messages for Humanity that ring true. Kryon asks us to meld with him, and remember if the information has integrity, using our own intuition and internal Akashic wisdom. This is the magic, where the audience doesn’t just sit and listen, but rather is included in a quantum way. Kryon’s purpose is to inform Humanity about the attributes of the current shift, to be a partner with us in this incredible changing time in history, and to remind us of our part in all of it.

Why do you think you were chosen to channel Kryon (and what did you do before that?) LC: I was a electronics sound engineer with many awards for my work. I built San Diego’s

largest sound recording studio, a facility large enough for a small orchestra. We did mostly commercials and movie scores. I was a career guy, happy in my work…until I met Kryon and had my profound awakening that God was bigger than I was told. Suddenly my compassion quotient went off the scale, and I wasn’t happy with being the engineer any more. I wanted to change my life. I don’t think I was chosen. I think I had a potential agreement based on whatever was in my Akashic past. So it was a potential plan, and required agreement.

What do you think is going to happen in 2012? LC: Kryon is here because of the 2012 energy. You might say he is the messenger of the

shift. The Galactic Alignment is a 26,000-year cycle that represents how we see the stars based on the earth’s very slow wobble. As the planet wobbles, once every 26,000 years we visually align with the center of the galaxy. But it’s such a slow movement that as we enter the galactic equator (The band of stars in the sky – The Milky Way), it takes 18 years to get to the middle of it, and another 18 to exit it. So astronomically, “The 2012 experience” is a 36 year alignment process, not something that happens on Dec 21, 2012. However, the ancients saw this astronomic cycle clearly and assigned an energy to it. The Maya told us it was the potential for the highest consciousness that Humanity had ever experienced. (This is written in stone on their pyramids). Gregg Braden, modern scientist and spiritual lecturer, sees it as a Time Fractal…and agrees that it is indeed a “Decision point,” just as the Maya did. Modern day 2012 lecturer Geoff Stray (mainstream academic), who has studied the 2012 prophesies for over 20 years, calls it “a potential for a paradigm shift.” Nowhere in any of these studies is there a “doom and gloom” message! The negative aspects have all been made up by the media, purposely mixing up Maya mythology with outdated Nostradamus predictions, promoted by those who wish to make a nice buck in these years leading up to it. (This is the same as they did prior to our millennium change). Even the current day Maya Elders agree that this shift is one of major positive potential, not the end of the world. The Harmonic Convergence of 1987 was kind of the “question to Humanity” that asked, “Are you ready to go to a higher vibration, or will this be the same as the last decision point?” Kryon says we had reached a turning point, and our answer was a choice to move to a potential we had never had before…toward peace on earth! After the

HOLISTIC LIVING

Harmonic Convergence, everything changed. Prophesies you had heard all your life didn’t happen. 2000 didn’t bring an Armageddon, the Soviet Union disappeared, the magnetics of the planet moved greatly, and the weather started changing…much of this predicted by Kryon in 1989 in Kryon Book One. There is a major consciousness shift happening on the planet, and I’ve seen it everywhere, from Moscow and Kazakhstan, the whole of western Europe, South America, and North America. Think of this: Without a prophet to follow, or a central book, or an organized church, New Age thinkers from all over the world…by the tens of thousands…somehow are awakening to a similar truth. That truth is not exclusionary to anyone. That truth for each human is this: What if God were bigger than I was told? What if I were part of the creator energy? What if there is “God in me?” Most of the masters who walked the earth gave us this very message. It’s not a new message, but one that is now something we can act on personally. What can you tell us about your latest book, Kryon Book 12, The Twelve Layers of DNA? LC: Kryon Book Twelve was released in October 2010.

It’s different than any other Kryon book, and has some of the latest and most profound esoteric information about what’s really in our DNA. …The premise that the 90 percent “junk” that biologists attribute to DNA is really the information that makes us who we are. This 90 percent of non-coded chemistry contains instructions to the stem cells, and these instructions are changeable! All the Akashic records of the soul’s lifetimes are there, and even the seeds of creation itself. It’s in a pure quantum state…which is now something even being quantified by quantum biologists in very profound experiments. There is so much to learn here, and this book is only the beginning. a

Vision Quest Transformation in the Andes by Allen Brown

I

awoke the first day to a prehistoric panorama of dense mist growing up from the valley below, thinning just enough to reveal the impressive fifty-foot ceibo tree that stood forty feet from the spot that had been designated as mine for the next four days and nights. Long root tendrils of chupaya, a bromeliad-like flower that grows in the high Andean mountains, dangled from nearly every open branch, creating a mystical scene straight out of Lord of the Rings. I had journeyed to this spectacular mountain in Northern Peru with a friend, John Dorr, to participate in a traditional Native American rite called Hanblecheyapi (Vision Quest) with my teacher and friend Chief Valerio (Freddy) Cohaila. Now after several days of travel on planes, bumpy hot buses and on foot, I had the keen sense that a much different sort of journey was about to take place at the top of this magnificent mountain, with nothing to do but sit and “be” for the duration of the vision quest. My previous vision quest had dispelled any fears about the protocol of no food or water common to questing, but had also made me aware of how difficult it can be to sit with nothing but your thoughts for that long. The entire first day was spent watching an endless stream of beautiful multi-colored butterflies of all shapes and sizes and contemplating the transformation in store for me signaled by their presence. By the time the sun set on the first night, I was fully immersed in the rhythm of the plants and creatures surrounding my small patch of sacred space. Unfortunately, not even the power of nature in all its magnificence could save me from my own thoughts through the next two days and nights. Despite the peace and quiet, or likely because of it, the noise of internal mind chatter took over, rehashing recent events involving the breakup of a romantic relationship. The resulting fallout: an outof-control freight train of consciousness that threatened to derail for most of the third day. By the time the small group of supporters arrived with Chief Cohaila on the third evening with the visionary medicine Ayahuasca, which is a part of some of the vision quests lead by Chief Cohaila, I was exhausted with the internal struggle. Fortunately, having worked for years with Ayahuasca, this visionary tea from the Amazon, it was truly medicine for my soul that filled my consciousness and provided exactly the guidance necessary. As darkness fell and I settled in to the familiar sensations of the medicine, the struggles of the previous two days faded into an amazing scene of the mountain on which I sat and the valley below, but from a very different time. Out of the trees that lined the ridge stepped a short, powerful man dressed only in a loincloth. After a short time of looking me over (although it felt like sizing me up), he announced that he had lived in this valley in the time of the Inka. He then proceeded to show me a running

A Shamanic Gathering The fifth Midwest Shamanic Gathering will take place September 3-5 in the serene, natural environment at Beaver Creek Reserve in Fall Creek, WI, featuring traditional teachings and ceremony led by powerful teachers and native leaders who will present a blend of lectures, experiential ceremonies and healing sessions. Chief Valerio (Freddy) Cohaila returns to the event to present and carry the vision of the native prophesies of the eagle and condor. Dan Hull, an Annishinaabe drum chief and teacher, also returns to the Gathering. New to the Gathering this year is Ed McGaa, Teton Oglala teacher and author of 10 books about native culture, and anthropologist and Cree teacher Jody Ground. Coming from Africa, Oromo spiritual elder Abba Liban Dabassah Guyo offers a rare look at a native culture from halfway around the world. Other teachers will include Navajo Chief and former Native American Church Head Emerson Jackson and one of the 13 Grandmothers. The event is open to everyone interested in indigenous culture, healing and ceremony. narrative of moments from his life as a spiritual leader of his village – ceremonies, rites of passage and offerings to the spirits of the mountain, land and water, caring for the crops and children, living and dying with the natural rhythm of nature – a stark and powerful contrast to the hustle and bustle of the life I lead today.   Just before leaving he said, “This is how you need to live, in honor of the spirits.”   Once the awe I felt at the gift of such a powerful vision subsided a bit, the spirit of the plant itself, whom those who work with this medicine affectionately call Grandmother Ayahuasca, arrived with another, more personally humbling message for me.   “Live every moment from your heart,” she said. “You have a powerful teacher and mentor in Freddy (Chief Cohaila). Model your actions by his.” Then, uncharacteristic of the medicine, as quickly as the visions had started, they were done, leaving me once again to the silence and beauty of the star-filled night to contemplate and process what I had received. I´d love to say that the rest of the night was spent in peaceful reverie, but as lessons with Ayahuasca sometimes go, I very shortly got the opportunity to practice the guidance I had received as the madness of the mind-chatter returned with full force for the next several hours to the point that in relative desperation, I turned to my old friends – yoga and mindfulness meditation – to make it the next few hours till sunrise. Just as the first rays of light came on the fourth Vision Quest continued on page 11 

Light body expert William Henry will visit Minneapolis August 19-20 to guide participants on a powerful exploration of mind-body-spirit potential and teach timeless tools for transformation and completing the journey to wholeness…or even holiness by connecting with your True Self. “The Anointed: Manifest Your Soul’s Potential and Your Greatest Life” will take place from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Sheraton Minneapolis Midtown Hotel, 2901 Chicago Ave. S. The cost is $125 by August 1, $150 afterward, at 615.292.5397 or whenrytn@earthlink.net. Henry will lead a special visit to the “Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs” exhibition at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Science Museum of Minnesota. Reserve your ticket to this event at www.smm.org/tut/ or call 651).221.9444 or toll-free 1.800.221.9444. Henry is an author, investigative mythologist and host of “Revelations” radio. He is a guide into the transformative power of art and symbols of human ascension. “The Anointed” is a soul journey using hundreds of slides of ancient and sacred art that transmits divine energy, illuminates our path and connects you to the secrets of enlightenment with more power and clarity. As the ancients have said, “The image will show you the Way” and reveal how the great transformation is done. The result is an experience that speaks to and empowers knowledge and energy deep within you – your light body, your True Self. The group mind of the weekend opens the heart and helps to enlighten each other by using the power of our collective imagination to focus and reflect our highest selves. The event is open to those who are just beginning to explore the secrets of soul and the light body, as well as those who are accomplished healers or experienced practitioners of such modalities as The Reconnection or Matrix Energetics or other systems. The Sunday museum tour will allow you to walk with Henry among the history of some of ancient Egypt’s most significant rulers, including Tut’s relatives, with artifacts immersing you in the daily life, religion and ascension practices that took place under the rule of the pharaohs.  Vision Quest continued from page 10 morning, I fell into a short but beautiful slumber that lasted a couple hours. Thankfully, I awoke with an amazing sense of spaciousness and heart-centered love that felt like a much needed transformation of spirit. By the time I heard the drum coming up the hill and saw Chief Cohaila’s familiar form crest the ridge, I was filled with gratitude for the incredible opportunity to work with such a beautifully humble and wise teacher, for the opportunity to participate in such transformative rites and to be able to receive guidance from so many powerful spirits. After a silent trek down the sun-drenched mountain, picking up questers along the way, we

made our way into the inipi (sweat lodge) where, little by little, everyone had the opportunity to share their visions with the circle of questers and supporters. The sweetness of the feast of fruit after sweat lodge seemed a fitting end to a difficult, but sweet, journey of transformation on this mountain in Northern Peru. a Allen Brown is a spiritual seeker and photographer who leads trips to the Amazon to Wakani Lodge to work with the Amazonian medicine, Ayahuasca. exposing Personal Care Products

Conscious beauty care is challenging by Michelle Noel

First of a three-part series rue Beauty Nirvana is finding products and services that seamlessly integrate three critical components: the Performance, how the product improves appearance; the Science, how the product actually works; and the Safety, how the product impacts the health of the human body and planet. In these next three issues of The Edge, we will further explore the critical nature of each of these three areas of critical importance when selecting your next personal care product. Through my twenty-plusyear journey into my own personal use of zillions of products (and sadly zillions of dollars), as well as my formal and professional education, I have come to one, and only one conclusion. The products I choose to use better have all three of the above categories covered, because if not, there is a price to pay – and it isn’t always in dollars and cents. The price we are paying for substandard products can be in the form of the product leaving you looking less than your best, or performance failure. The product can be missing the science behind it, which can leave you with a benign product that isn’t efficacious. And last but not least, if the safety is compromised, it causes harm to both my body and the planet

T

Holy Molé

while in the process of simply trying to look and feel beautiful. No thanks. I have found that most personal care product manufacturers are leaving the consumer with a choice to pick one, or maybe two, out of the three categories above, for the sake of them making a tidy profit. They typically focus on giving the consumer performance most often, because they know that is critical to their success. So the product will indeed deliver on making you look better on the surface, but it won’t improve your hair or skin in the long term because they are missing the science. If they actually make a product that performs and has the science behind it, still 99 percent will leave out the safety and health aspect in their production. They know synthetic chemical ingredients are inexpensive, and if they can convince you that the product works and give you scientific reasons why, they hope you will overlook the health danger – and unfortunately most people do. However, as consumers continue to become more educated, and as they are looking more deeply at the long-term effects of their buying decisions, manufacturers will strive to meet consumer demands.

Quit cutting corners

The marketplace dictates the manufacturing practices, and we should all insist on efficacious and safe products in every area of our lives. Hey, if we

can put a man on the moon, surely we can have beauty products that work well in the short and long term, while also protecting our body and our planet. We are not asking these companies to create a Unicorn here. We are simply asking for personal care product manufacturers to quit cutting corners at the expense of products’ Performance, Science and Safety. It is my business to know and understand the details of the products on the market, down to the molecular structure of ingredients, but for Jane Doe who goes in to buy a shampoo from her local retailer, I truly feel for her. She is bombarded with false labeling and Madison Avenue slick advertising, with over-used and abused words like “natural” and “organic.” These marketers are getting so clever, they are even creating logos that resemble some sort of certification mark that the product is Green and Clean, when in fact, the product has only one “natural” ingredient in it, and the rest is otherwise a chemical… (expletive deleted) storm. Please excuse the implied language, but that is exactly what most beauty products are, a frightening cocktail of chemicals that are not regulated like the foods we eat – but should be. After all, if you can’t put it “in” you, you shouldn’t put it “on” you. If a small 2-inch Nicotine patch on the shoulder of smoker desiring to quit can deliver enough medication

to the bloodstream to affect the body, just imagine how many chemicals are delivered to the bloodstream when a lotion is applied to the entire body. Granted, the Nicotine patch is watertight, and therefore designed to occlude the area of skin in which the patch is being applied, but if your beauty product has silicone or a petroleum derived ingredient (most do), then that also acts as a shield or occlusive mechanism. To “occlude” something means to cover it up, or to seal it from exposure to air, therefore creating body heat that enhances the medicine and/or product’s ability to be more readily absorbed into the skin and bloodstream. This method creates an intensified or stronger effect of the ingredients used. Have you ever had someone instruct you to wrap your head in plastic wrap while you deep condition your hair? The reason for that recommendation is so the heat from your head inside the plastic wrap will allow the deep conditioning treatment to penetrate the scalp and hair shaft more effectively. This holds true for all products applied to the skin or scalp. As we learn more about how the skin functions and the profound systemic effect that products have on our bodies, we must begin to care more deeply about what we are drinking in. Make no mistake; we are doing a lot of drinking every day besides through our mouths!

In coming months

I have covered three areas to watch for when selecting your personal care products in this article, and the next order of business will be to elaborate on what to look for specifically in these categories when looking at labels of your future purchases. Don’t worry readers: I will be certain to cover this in greater detail in the next two articles (September and October). In addition, I will also be giving you a good start list of companies that I have found who have all three categories covered beautifully. Their products perform, they have the science behind them, and they have addressed the health of the human body and our planet in their formulations. Ah, now that’s Beauty Nirvana! a Part 2 of this series continues next month on specific chemicals commonly found in beauty products and what effect they have on the body. Finding success in life …in spite of Autism by Eileen Parker

First of a two-part series he picture of autism most often depicted in the media paints children and their worried parents.   I have autism. My picture is different: 45-year-old suburban mom of four, autism advocate and small business owner. But, it wasn’t always that way, because my childhood was like the media depiction without therapies, special education classes, or even a diagnosis. My mother worried about why I wasn’t talking and seemed to be in my own world, rarely interacting with others. Doctors had no answers for her. Back then, severe autism was diagnosed, but not usually the milder forms. Now, it has taken the opposite turn. We hear so much about children with higher functioning levels. Some do have severe autism, and they go through their lives never speaking and not being able to care for themselves in the basic ways, such as going to the bathroom. For example, a family friend has a teenage son like that, but the world only knows him as a musical savant, a concert pianist. Eventually, I began talking and went through usual activities such as school, piano lessons and sports. Yet, to this day, I have the classic autism symptoms such as: seeming to not care about the feelings of others; repetitive motions; not understanding social cues or responding properly; lack of eye contact; unusual degree of hyper-focus on an area of interest to the exclusion of other things; upset if rituals or routines are changed; some difficulty in understanding verbal communication; thinking in pictures; having a high degree of ability in one area and disability in another; and preference to be alone.

T

Sensory distractions

Most people with autism also have Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), which causes an avoidance of sensory-full situations like working in an office cubicle where other sensory input can be heard, smelled and experienced. I avoid situations like the state fair where there are so many smells, movement, touch, heat and sounds. I can quickly become stressed and feel on the verge of crying, getting angry, and doing repetitive movements like hand-flapping and/or rocking.

HOLISTIC LIVING

With SPD, my brain doesn’t process sensory information properly. To paraphrase Wikipedia, “For those with SPD, sensory information is registered, interpreted and processed differently by the brain. The result can be unusual ways of responding or behaving, finding things harder to do. …And for some with extreme sensitivity to sensory input, it may result in extreme avoidance of activities, agitation, distress, fear or confusion.” Having said that I have difficulty in areas of my life, I am now a parent, my mother isn’t worried anymore, and I am close with my family. Like most parents, when my children were born, I wondered who they would be and what course they would take in their lives. We all learn that our children will never be who we imagined them to be, and it is the same with autistic children.

falling down is normal

On my blog, “Inside the Autism Experience” at www.EileenParker.com, I wrote a post based on a TED talk by Caroline Casey. I wrote, “If you have autism, watch and/or listen to this video. If you don’t have autism, regardless of functioning level, don’t hold your autistic child, spouse or family member back. They will metaphorically fall down and bruise their knees, but that is normal, quite normal. So, fall down and see how much higher you can go. “I read a book a gazillion years ago about a person who became blind. At the blind school, the instructor said to the student that there was a sharp corner to watch out for in the main area. The student asked why they just didn’t pad it. The instructor replied that the world doesn’t cushion us from every possible hurt.” a Resources: Ask about help with autism and an adult autism support group at the Autism Society of Minnesota at www.ausm.org. Learn more about sensory processing disorder at www.spdfoundation.net. Next month: Part 2 of this series as the author decides to start a business to assist others with autism. Eileen Parker is frequently in the media talking about autism. She owns Cozy Calm, a weighted blanket company at www.CozyCalm.com. Contact her at e@cozycalm.com or at 763.533.6125. Mercury slows down August by D.K. Brainard

M

ercury, the planet of thought and communication, is retrograde from August 2-26, bringing an appropriate slowness to the deepest part of summer while Mars in Cancer keeps the waters of transformation on a slow boil. Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…Someone from the past comes back into your life, bringing a much-needed shot of fun. Even though you’re a little preoccupied with an intense emotional or family drama, remember that activating your creativity is one of the easiest ways to release the pent-up emotions of the past.

Star Wisdom august 2011

work and get paid for it. Mercury retrograde in your career house this month urges you to stop mooning around and make a detailed investigation. Start with an honest assessment of what you like and don’t like about your current position.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…This is a month for hanging out at home, recharging your batteries and enjoying your family or domestic life. Although a part of you wants to continue to charge ahead, do try to slow down and flow with this energy. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to shine in the fall, so rest, relax and gather your energy now.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)…Amazingly enough, you’re reformulating your metaphysical system and questioning your whole outlook on life. A key relationship seems to be the impetus for this inner work – which will be even more liberating than you hope. Don’t take for granted the apparent fact you need support from a certain someone; consider that you might be better off creating it on your own.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)…This is a bit of a weird month for you. Your ruling planet Mercury retrogrades in your 3rd House of thoughts and communication, making you much more interested in looking inside to learn how your mind works than in your normal outer-directed effervescence. Mars in your money house pushes you to get clear on exactly what and how much you need to move ahead.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)…If you’re not careful you could end up turning your most important relationship into a replay of your childhood. You have a strong tendency to project a mother or father image from the past onto your current relationship this month. Recognize this fact and you can liberate yourself from the emotional ghosts of the past. Ignore it and you’ll be doomed to repeat that family drama.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)…Your happiness this month depends squarely on how in touch you can be with your anger and assertiveness. Mars in your sign gives you the energy and willpower to move forward, but only if you’re able to admit how much you need the success or status you’re seeking. This is not a month to play the victim. It’s a time to pull on your armor and charge into the fray.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)…You’re rethinking a key relationship this month, as Mercury retrogrades in your partnership house and a Full Moon in your sign sheds new light on the person you’ve become. Ask yourself what the creative response is. Rather than doing the easy thing and distancing yourself emotionally, dig in and find out what action you can take to make things better.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)…Just remember that slow and steady usually does win the race. You’re chomping at the bit because you’re feeling who you are and what you want on a whole new level and you want to share it with the world. But Mercury retrograde is telling you that minding the details and learning to convey your vision with precision is what will take you over the top.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)…You have a powerful drive to create, create, create this month. You are so passionate in August, the people around you might not recognize you! It’s important to have an artistic outlet for all this energy; otherwise you’re likely to act out the shadow side of your inner child. So find your bliss, or the closest thing to it, and give it all you’ve got this month. a

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)…You spend the first three weeks of the month getting clear on why you’re here. If you’ve felt stuck trying to “name and claim” your goal, use the Mercury retrograde to get clear on what you don’t want in your life anymore. When the Sun moves into your sign on the 23rd you’ll be free to move ahead with power and clarity.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)…This new career, job or life path you’re on is not without its frustrations, but my goodness aren’t you a sight to behold? You’re so motivated right now you could move mountains. So do it. Even if this position isn’t the perfect fit, your assertive action this month will move you closer to the one that is. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)…You’ve been questioning for some time (a) if you’re doing the work you’re meant to do or (b) what you need to do in order to do the right

A Gluten-free, Dairy-free Whole Food Recipe

Slow-baked Barbecued Beans by Maggie Christopher These are delicious at a summer barbeque and definitely worth the extra effort.

Ingredients: 2 cups dried pinto beans, soaked overnight 2 onions, thinly sliced 4 cloves of garlic 20 oz. plain tomato sauce 1/4 cup maple syrup 1 TBS chipotle en adobo* (less if you don’t like spicy food) 1 TBS chili powder 2 tsp dried oregano Salt and Pepper to taste *Chipotle en adobo – This is a pepper marinated in a smoky, spicy sauce. You can find these in the Mexican section of your grocery store.

Directions: Soak the beans overnight to speed up the cooking process. To soak, put the dry beans in a bowl, cover the beans with about 4 inches of water, put a lid on the bowl and leave out on your counter overnight. Drain the soaking water and put beans in a large pot. Cover the beans with about 1 inch of filtered water. Cover with a lid and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a gentle boil and keep covered for approximately 1 hour or until the beans are soft. Once the beans are tender, you may need to remove some water with a ladle if the beans are too watery. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Combine all other ingredients and then transfer to a baking dish or bean pot. Add the cooked beans and stir to combine. Cover with aluminum foil. Slow bake for 2-3 hours. When the sauce is starting to get thick, you can uncover the beans to speed up the process. The final consistency should be thick. Serve with a whole grain and kale for a complete meal. These beans can also be eaten with coleslaw on a bun! Serves 8-10 generously. a Maggie Christopher, CHNC, is a certified holistic nutrition counselor in St. Paul. My Strongheart Experience “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mahatma Gandhi by Jana Johnson

I

n April 2011 I flew to Monrovia, Liberia. From there I was driven 3-1/2 hours to Robertsport – a fully functioning city struggling to rebuild after over 20 years of civil war (1980-2006) – and The Strongheart House. The Strongheart Fellowship Program [strongheartfellowship.org] is a groundbreaking healing and learning guidance program designed to help bright, resilient young people from extremely challenging circumstances around the globe develop into compassionate, innovative problemsolvers and leaders that can affect significant social change. I stayed there for two weeks. At the House were eight Liberian youths ages 14-25, one 10-month old baby, about six Liberian house staff, one high school technology teacher from Spain and one American Program Guide. There was no running water, and electricity was pumped in via generator three hours a day.

To find the words

When I was asked what my goals were for this trip, I said I wanted to strengthen my teaching skills. I thought teaching to a non-Western group would do just that. It would force me to find the words, find a way to communicate the knowledge I hold in my head and heart. I also wanted to make the connection that is talked about often in the communities that I’m involved in – that we meditate on peace and happiness not only for ourselves, but also for the world and everyone in it. For my stay I was asked to lead the morning meditation, lead one class during the day on the subject of my choice, and then do one-on-one energy sessions with each of the Strongheart Fellows. I decided to focus the first week’s morning meditations on sensational meditating, with a focus on smell, sound and/or a physical area of the body. The second week I would devote to the Meta Meditation. This was a big one and I was slightly nervous about how I would be able to connect with

the Fellows. How would I talk with them about having compassion for all beings, including those who have caused extraordinary pain for their country, and possibly even directly on the Fellows themselves? I didn’t have a full grasp on where the Fellows were emotionally, intellectually or spiritually. I knew the kids were studying a book called Mindsight by Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. What I gathered was that this book was basically the scientific perspective of mindfulness. For years Buddhists have been expounding the benefits of mindfulness, and now Western science was looking at the neuroplasticity of the brain and what actually happens in the brain when you meditate and practice mindfulness. I hadn’t read the book yet but I had read many on similar topics like The Joy of Living, Change Your Brain, Change Your Life, and I’ve seen What the Bleep do we Know?! multiple times. I strongly believe that we can change our lives through our thoughts and taking responsibility for our own energetic forces. The Fellows studying this book fit well into my teachings and beliefs about mindfulness, intention and energy. As I did the one-on-one sessions, I was acutely aware that each of the Fellows was complicated, deeply traumatized, uniquely intelligent, amazingly resilient and somewhat typical of people their age. I wanted to encourage the intelligent, resilient and typical aspects and I wanted to help them to reconnect to their cores so they could heal from the trauma. I wanted them to feel and to know that I “saw” them, the perfect souls that they were — and that I held and will continue to hold the faith that they are powerful beings and that they can create the life they want for themselves. As we watched What the Bleep Do We Know?! and I stumbled through the explanation of quantum physics and the concept of God, I was continually amazed and excited over the questions asked and the statements made by the Fellows. Not all of them, but a few understood at some level that there was a possibility beyond what we “know.” I wanted them to

The Value of Serving Others walk away with ideas like “don’t be rigid in your thoughts,” “dream big” and “know there is the possibility of even more than you can dream of” and understand the science behind the brain to understand how it is possible to change your thoughts and behaviors. Take the leap of faith and believe. Patience and perseverance are vital. Here were children who had lost their parents, friends and family, were uprooted not only from their homes but from their countries, had experienced hunger at a level I couldn’t imagine, and now were living with the faith that this small American organization was going to support them for the rest of their lives. And I was asking them to be open to the possibility of giving up their fear, giving up their hopelessness, to believe that they themselves were powerful enough people to evoke change, first in themselves and through them the rest of their country. And I did it. I asked them to do this. I gave them scientific reasons how it was possible. I gave them spiritual reasons as to how faith would carry them through. I gave them emotional reasons as to how there were people all over the world praying for them, meditating for their healing and well-being.

home to nyc

And then I came home to New York City. To a man I love, back in contact with family and friends around the country, a fully equipped apartment, cabinets full of food. And I came back to my personal issues: finding peace with my body, financial struggle of building a private practice doing healing work, old childhood issues of distrust and abandonment that continue to color my relationships. But nothing felt the same anymore. Two weeks is not a long time, but the information that I gathered from the trip bubbles just outside of my entire body. How do I integrate all that I learned? How can I come back without forcing myself to look at what I ask of myself – do I truly believe I Strongheart continued on page 20 

Meditation & prayer behind bars by Rick Carlson

bout four years ago, in the latter part of 2007, a friend and I were asked if we were interested in volunteering at the Red Wing Juvenile Correctional Facility (in Red Wing, MN), teaching meditation to young offenders there. We gladly accepted the offer. After a criminal background check and a four-hour orientation, we began our monthly sojourns on Saturday mornings down the St. Croix River Valley to Red Wing. After about one year, we added a poetry workshop to our monthly class, which we call “Silence and Spoken Word.” We usually have between three and six guys who sign up on a given Saturday. They are all repeat felons, some are gang members, a diverse mix of AfricanAmerican, Caucasian, Native, Hispanic, etc. These guys choose to be with us rather than doing sports or some other recreational activity, so they tend to be very serious about their interest in meditation and/or poetry. The poets among them are often quite talented in their ability to express themselves from the heart. Most of these young men come from dysfunctional families, some are teenage fathers themselves, and they all seem very interested in turning their lives around and making positive changes. My friend Mary, an 81-year-old retired schoolteacher and grandmother, leads the meditation. She uses various guided meditation techniques, including a body scan, relaxation, visualization, metta (loving kindness), etc. She encourages them to go to that sacred place within each of us where we are loved and loving, “where we can just be and breathe.”

The Value of Serving Others I lead the poetry. We all spend time writing about a chosen topic, with music playing in the background (Michael Franti, Krishna Das, Enya or Leonard Cohen), then take turns sharing what we’ve written. It’s powerful stuff these guys come up with – painful, hopeful, confused, angry, funny, insightful, often quite beautiful. The guy who recruited us for this work spent 17 years in prison, and told us of the transformation in his life when he realized the volunteers who came in to see him during his incarceration were not getting paid, they were there because they cared about him, so he must be worth something as a human being. He said that was the beginning of a spiritual awakening that has turned him into a peaceful urban saint dedicated to giving back to society, helping others to realize their true value. His story is what inspired me to enter into this intense process. We are planting seeds in the hearts and minds of these young men. I pray they will also realize they have a chance to become who they truly are. I feel blessed to be a part of these changes that are happening. This work is sponsored by the Beverly White Foundation.  Strongheart from page 18 am a powerful person? Do I truly believe I can change my brain to evoke positive change in my life? How can I ask the Fellows to do something that I feel like I sometimes fail to do myself? I can’t. I won’t. So I look at myself in the mirror every morning and I remember a morning of standing at the tide’s edge of the ocean in Robertsport and looking down at my feet. The wave would come crashing in and in one swoop would not only take the sand out from under my feet but would also bury my feet deeper. The metaphor was obvious. My foundation was being taken out from underneath me and yet the result was a more stable place to stand. I will continue to work with Strongheart. One of their Fellows will be in NYC this summer and we plan to do healing work together. This will be a constant reminder to me to practice what I preach. And that by my doing so I contribute to the cause I so believe in: putting belief, faith, patience, intention and attention into the morphic field for the benefit of all. a On August 13 & 14, Jana Johnson will lead a workshop on manifestation and intention at Crossings in Zumbrota, MN. Kundalini Loving Service by Master Chrism

K

undalini is an evolutionary energy that is designed for humanity’s next step toward a luminous physical and spiritual expression. The Kundalini is in everyone. It is an untapped resource of divinity within us all that is waiting to be awakened and experienced. Never has the time been so right and crucial for a change of this magnitude to be explored and initiated. And so, let me introduce you to the power within you, right now at this very moment. Your Kundalini. Now that the energy is moving within you, from the smallest twitch to the grander expressions of the Kundalini, now is the time to give of love-based service to others. It really isn’t “all” about you. This exaltation upon the human being is also about how you are towards others. How you respect yourself by how you respect others. How you show love and appreciation for self and Kundalini by how you are showing these same qualities for others. Every day, as many times as you can, demonstrate your love and appreciation of people, environment, fellow mortals (animals), Sun, Moon, Stars, divinity. Do so – and do so with the grace that is being gifted and expanded within you. Let yourself become in action and intention as much of a beacon of light as the Kundalini is turning your cellular structure into. That is what is happening. Your entire human expression is being transformed into a living radiance of divine illumination. I am asking and suggesting for you to give “for the benefit of others” and for “the benefit of yourself,” the very same qualities of exaltation and expressions of love and kind consideration and appreciation into the flow of the radiance that you are becoming! You need this to have balance inside of the Kundalini exaltation of the expressive structures across all of the body(s). This frequency of Kundalini that is given here will demand this of a person. If that demand is ignored, certain actions will be brought into the experience of the individual that will force these qualities to be expressed. Don’t wait for that to happen, because it robs you of making the appropriate choice. Make that choice first. Bring yourself into the kind consider-

The Value of Serving Others ation and love for the unity of life as you engage it and it engages you. Become part of the harmonious symphony of joyful music that is being shared, except do it with “conscious purpose” as a way of pattern development inside of your Kundalini awakening. Force yourself to take the time and to make the actions of loving service towards other people and of the divine that also expresses through them. Smile, open a door, let someone come in ahead of you, save a life, give of your resources, give of your joy, and love, and hospitality and kindness. Do the work and make the sacrifice of time and property. Do this for strangers and friends and family and workmates. Make this your new habit! Yes, I am serious about this! These activities will have a very positive influence in the expressive pattern of the infusion within and upon you. Much potential pain will be released. These activities are as lubricants for the infusion. As Kundalini is a force of love from a divine source of love, so must you become that which is infusing you! Do you see it? Do you feel the logic? This is as much about releasing toxic forms of interaction with others as it is a form of outwardly expressed gifts of love. You are retraining yourself and being retrained by Kundalini in the forms of loving interaction with the living divine expression that is demonstrated in “other creation” outside of yourself. As your frequency of radiance is refined, so will your habitual ego expressions need to come into this refinement. These actions of loving service will bring the ego into the greater reflection of the divine radiance Kundalini brings. But you must make the choice to do this. Do this as a new, consistent activity from yourself towards others. Not for pay. Not for self-aggrandizement. But for the love of doing so. For the love of giving and helping. For the effects of these activities upon the transformative infusion of Kundalini flowing through and upon you. a Master Chrism awakens the Kundalini in groups of people safely. The Hospice Effect

Serving others at the end of life is a true gift by Kimberly Wencl

I

had been thinking about becoming a hospice volunteer for a while. It would come as a passing thought that I would consider and then put aside. Little did I know how quickly and how clearly my decision would be made. Our hospice house is on the outskirts of town surrounded by farm fields and trees. It looks like a home – not a place of death. I had a tour shortly before it opened, but had no other contact with it, other than to read the obituaries of many a local who had spent their last days and hours there. I had experienced death in the most painful of ways. My oldest daughter, Elizabeth, died very suddenly and unexpectedly in 2003 from a fire while attending college. Almost eight years have passed since that fateful day, and I have come to accept that the physical presence of my beautiful daughter is gone forever. Her spirit, however, continues to burn bold and bright in my life, giving me much needed comfort and peace. A couple months ago, my 82-yearold mother-in-law, Betty, fell and shattered her hip. She had surgery the following day, but her recovery became a rocky road. Ongoing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and congestive heart failure, were wrecking havoc with her recovery. She would recover enough to move to a rehab center and then breathing issues would ensue, necessitating a return to the hospital. This cycle went on for a month. It became increasingly clear that her hip was healing nicely, but her breathing issues were not. In fact, they were chronic, and would not improve — only get worse. Betty was completely exhausted and we could all see that she could fight no longer. We quickly realized that the best thing for Betty was a move to hospice to be pain free and comfortable. All we wanted was rest and peace for Betty, the matriarch of our family — a woman who was widowed at the young age of 50 and had raised eight children. I wasn’t that close to my mother-

The Value of Serving Others in-law, even though I had been a part of her family for over 30 years. Yet, that day, something compelled me to focus solely on her and I found myself continually standing at her right shoulder, patting her head, bringing cool cloths to keep her comfortable, and feeding her an occasional bite of ice cream. I remember toying with the thought that, at some point, I would whisper in her ear to please give Liz a hug for me when she saw her. At the end of the day, with Betty resting comfortably at hospice, everyone except one daughter went home for the night. Just a few short hours later our phone rang with the news that Betty was gone. She had slipped away during the early morning hours with her daughter asleep by her side. After the news sank in, I realized that the opportunity to ask Betty to hug Liz was gone. I was immediately immersed with an intense sense of love and peace and the knowing that Betty was now with my daughter and she was indeed giving her that hug that I had only thought about. A few seconds later that thought was gone — replaced with a feeling of gratitude that I felt was my motherin-law’s way of thanking me for helping her in her final hours. It’s been a few weeks now, and these experiences have had the chance to sink in. My answer about becoming a hospice volunteer has clearly been answered, and in a couple weeks I will be a hospice 11th hour volunteer. Some day soon, I will have the privilege of sitting with someone in their final hours. My prayer will be to offer them the same sense of peace and love that Betty received. My experience was a gift — a gift given to me by God and by Betty. I have been blessed, and now I can be a blessing to others. a Kimberly Wencl is a writer and speaker living in southern Minnesota. The Three Waves of Volunteers An Edge interview with Dolores Cannon on her new book exploring a universal response to assist an ailing planet Earth by Tim Miejan

Read the concluding Part Two of this interview at Edgemagazine.net y any stretch of the imagination, people who randomly pick up her books and browse through them would declare them to be science fiction. But author and lecturer Dolores Cannon, a regressive hypnotherapist and psychic researcher, says the truth can be much stranger than fiction. Her many books focus on such topics as Nostradamus, Jesus and the Essenes, the Afterlife, the original birthing of humanity on Earth, Past Lives – and everything from the birth of the planet to extraterrestrials and abductions shared in an ongoing series of books entitled “The Convoluted Universe.” They arise from Cannon’s unique technique of regression using hypnotherapy that taps into the “Superconscious” of the client, revealing not only past-life issues that affect the client in this life but information related to mysteries of the universe. That’s not all. Cannon’s hypnotherapy clients also are being healed spontaneously of diseases and conditions as serious as life-threatening cancer. Her latest book, The Three Waves of Volunteers and The New Earth (Ozark Mountain Publishing), reveals that since the two atomic bomb explosions in Japan in 1945, three distinct groups of souls representing beings from across the universe have been volunteering to be birthed as humans so they can uplift the frequencies of Earth and help prevent a global catastrophe.  The First Wave: Now in their late 40s to early 60s , these volunteers are disturbed by the violence, anger and hate that they experience on Earth. They have had the hardest time adjusting to life as humans, and many of them try to commit suicide.  The Second Wave: Now in their late 20s and 30s, these volunteers are more comfortable in bodies and are said to be beacons or channels of energy who can affect others just by being near them. Their mission of just sharing their energy with others means they don’t have to do anything but just be.  The Third Wave: The new children, many of whom are now teenagers, have all the knowledge needed to exist on the planet after the dimensional shift and transformation takes place. Their DNA is more advanced, and the greatest challenge they face is being misunderstood by humans as having a condition (ADHD) that needs to be medicated.

B

“You’re not here to get rich and drink and party and all of that. You’re here to help each other….” ~ DOLORES CANNON

The challenge for these souls, Cannon said, is that when they are born they lose all conscious memory of who they once were and why they volunteered to be born here in the first place. She shared more about these volunteers during a phone interview with The Edge from California while on a national tour to lecture and teach her hypnotherapy technique to others. For those who have not heard of you or are not familiar with the vast amount of information you have gleaned from your willing hypnosis clients, how would you describe the thread that ties all your work together and what does this new book add to what you have already done? years. I developed my own technique down through the years. It’s not like any other hypnosis technique out there. We are able to contact what I call the greatest force there is, and it’s a source of all knowledge. I found the way to have it come through every single person that I work with, and I’ve worked with thousands of people. In my classes, I teach others how to do what I do, and we have found we can have instantaneous healing in just one session working with this power, because it can come through anybody. This is what I am teaching now all over the world. When you see thousands and thousands of clients, as I do as a therapist and a counselor, you begin to see a

 Summer Reading continued from page 22 Minding Closely: The Four Applications of Mindfulness, by B. Alan Wallace (Snow Lion Publications), 368 pages, $24.95 The ability to sustain close mindfulness is a learned skill that offers profound benefits in all situations. This book explains the theory and applications of the practice the Buddha called the direct path to enlightenment. By closely minding the body and breath, we relax, grounding ourselves in physical presence. Ultimately, we see all phenomena just as they are, and we approach the ground of enlightenment. Bringing in his experience as a monk, scientist and contemplative, Alan Wallace offers a rich synthesis of Eastern and Western traditions, along with a comprehensive range of meditation practices interwoven throughout the text. Train Your Brain to Get Happy: The Simple Program that Primes Your Gray Cells for Joy, Optimism, and Serenity, by Teresa Aubele, Stan Wenck and Susan Reynolds (Adams Media), 245 pages, $16.95 In Train Your Brain to Get Happy, neuroscientist Dr. Teresa Aubele and psychologist Dr. Stan Wenck draw upon the very latest research to show you how to program your brain for happiness. From firing up your neurons and flooding them with your body’s own “happy” chemicals to feeding your brain the vitamins and supplements proven to enhance mood and serenity, you’ll learn how to rewire yourself for bliss – from the cellular level up. This groundbreaking guide helps lay the groundwork for brain restructuring that will lead to new levels of happiness.

Coming in September Ego: The Fall of the Twin Towers and the Rise of an Enlightened Humanity, by Peter Baumann and Michael W. Taft (NE Press), 255 pages, $24.95, www. egothebook.com Ego: The Fall of the Twin Towers and the Rise of an Enlightened Humanity is the first book to explore the positive evolutionary potential hidden in one of the most destructive events in history. In their examination of the evolutionary implications of 9/11 and its aftermath, the authors contend we are not falling into the grip of a new dark age at all, rather we are on the verge of a much brighter one as the Darwinian process of natural selection continues to advance humankind. They show that modern humanity may be on the verge of an expansion of cognitive abilities akin to the development of the ego. a

HOLISTIC LIVING

common thread going through many of the cases. Earlier on, it used to be that everybody would go back to a past life and I’d find some of the answers there, and then I’d explore the source of all knowledge to answer all of their questions and do the healing. Just in the last five years or so, I began to see clients who weren’t all going into a past life on Earth. I began to find they had never been on Earth before and that they had come here directly from God, from the Source, from other planets, other dimensions, where they were light beings. That’s the common thread that I have been finding, and that’s where I came up with the theory of the three waves of volunteers. When I began talking about this on my radio show and on “Coast to Coast” and at all of my events, people began contacting me from all over the world saying, “Finally, it made sense.” They said, “I thought I was the only person in the world that felt like that.” Like they didn’t belong here and they wanted to go home. They did not understand Earth. They just knew this wasn’t home. They didn’t know where home was, but they knew it wasn’t here, and they all wanted to leave because Earth is such a strange place. And they began to find out, “Well, I’m not the only one out there.” That makes them feel a whole lot better, that there are thousands of people who feel the same way. Well, we found out why – because they have not been on Earth before. They are part of this special group that have come to help us through these times we are going through right now. What are the volunteers here to do and why should we, as citizens of the planet, be interested in their presence here. DC: They’re here to save the Earth,

because the ones who are caught on the wheel of karma cannot do it. They are so ingrained in their own karma and repeating their same mistakes over and over again that there is no way they can keep us from blowing up the world. But souls coming in that are pure and have never had any lives on Earth can do the most good. But now in body, these people don’t have any memory of why they came. They come in and an amnesia descends on the person and they don’t remember why they are here. But this group has an energy that they have to project. It is a loving energy that will change the mindset here on Earth. It will change

history, just them being here. They don’t realize they are doing it, but they are generating positive energy to offset the negativity of the world. But they don’t want to be here. They don’t like it here. They don’t understand Earth: “What am I doing here. I want to go home.” They just know this is not where they’re supposed to be, but they’re here to generate positive energy that will benefit everyone. They are here to raise the vibration of Earth. Some of these people, especially the second wave of volunteers, said they can walk through a crowded mall and their energy will affect everybody they walk past. They don’t have to do anything. This energy is just projecting out of them, and it influences everyone in positive, beautiful way. So the average person should be grateful for that, because it is changing the vibration of the world and getting it away from negativity. Toward the end of the book you even talk about a fourth group of volunteers, the Keepers of the Grid. Can you tell us about them? DC: That was something I discovered as

the book was being put together. I have written about Atlantis many, many times in my other books, in The Convoluted Universe series, and I thought that I had found all of the information on Atlantis, on why it went down, but I learned that Atlantis wasn’t the only civilization that was destroyed. There were many, many others before that. Each time when people got to the point when they were using energy in the wrong way and couldn’t control it, they had to be stopped. And every time, everything would be reset on this planet. The civilization would go back to the primitive stages and start all over again. That’s why they don’t want to have it happen this time. They don’t want to start over with the planet and begin life for humanity one more time. Then I learned about the Keepers of the Grid. During a hypnotherapy session, a woman went back to Atlantis and was telling me the prime reason for Atlantis being destroyed. It was not what I’d heard before, and I told them, “I’ve never heard this theory.” And they said, “That’s because we’ve never told it to anyone before, so it’s new theory.” I was told that there were scientists at the time of Atlantis. I thought they were fooling around with crystal power, and they were, but there were others who were fooling around with what they

called Dark Matter. I was told that this is the same thing scientists are doing now when they are fooling around with what we call Anti-Matter. In those days, they were trying to do the same thing, out of curiosity, to create their own universe and wormholes and things like that by experimenting. They said we have to know this, because the scientists are doing the same thing now. The Large Hadron Collider experiment in Switzerland is the same thing. They are messing around with Anti-Matter. The scientists who are now fooling around with the Collider experiment don’t have any idea what they are really doing, and it’s very highly dangerous. In the days of Atlantis, this experimenting got out of hand. The Dark Matter began to collapse the grids of the Earth, so outside observers from the universe had to step in and stop it at that point. Many of these people are coming back into body now, and their job is to energetically rebuild the grids of the Earth. But none of these people, the waves of volunteers or the Keepers of the Grid, know this consciously. But their presence here is extremely important. If those experiments had continued at that time in Atlantis, it would have broken down the grid of the planet, causing an implosion of the Earth, and it would have reverberated to the point where it would have broken the grids down of the entire universe. But they stopped it before it got to that point, but destruction took place. Do you find that there are spiritual seekers out there who are curious if they are volunteers? DC: Oh, yeah, a lot of them ask

me that. Many people, who go back to past lives still have karma to be repaid, have written and e-mailed me saying, “I think I’m first wave” or “I think I’m second wave.” Because they resonate with the description of what they are. But, we never know until

we do the session if they are or not. There’s always those people who want to be these things, and then you’ll find after you do a session there’s nothing there at all. I’ve done hundreds and hundreds of these cases, and that is when I began to put the whole story together and it began to make a theory that I’d never heard before. Perhaps it doesn’t really matter if we know that information, if we’re volunteers or not, and we should maybe just focus on living our lives the best that we can. DC: That’s what I tell everyone. That’s

why the memories were taken away, so we can just live and do what we’re supposed to do. The job is to help everybody, to help people. That’s the purpose of everyone who comes to Earth, even though they don’t realize it. You’re not here to get rich and drink and party and all of that. You’re here to help each other, so if they’re doing that, at least they’re doing what they’re supposed to be doing in some way or another. There’s a lot of different ways to help each other. But, it’s better off if you don’t know why you’re here and then you can just fulfill your mission. From the surface, it seems to me that the average Joe who picks up your book for the first time might look at it and say that what you have here is science fiction. DC: I have some people at my lectures

who say, “You’ve got to be the best fiction writer in the world!” There’s no way on Earth I could make this stuff up. I have 16 books out there now, and all of it has come through the cases I have worked on with the average person just walking in off the street. I did not know these people until they came through the door of my office, from every walk of life you can imagine: CEOs of companies, profes-

sors of colleges, priests, shamans, and many ordinary people. I have not found anyone who has not had a past life. So, that should be one answer to the skeptics out there. It’s never what they were looking for to be the answer to their problems, but it’s definitely not fiction. To me, this is real because I’ve worked on it for so many years, and it makes perfect sense to the client because it explains their problems and they can understand where it’s coming from. They put it into place and they can go on having a normal life. But even the average Joe who picks up my book is fascinated by it. They say they may not understand these concepts, but it makes them think, and that’s the important thing. They’ll know it’s not fiction once they get started into it. Something inside of them will resonate with them when they start reading it? DC: Yes. When I began writing

The Convoluted Universe series, I wondered if anybody out there would be able to understand it, because I said that book is for people who want their minds bent like pretzels. Readers said the same thing: “It makes us think.” We go into all kinds of concepts and theories that even people who have studied metaphysics for years have never come up with, so it’s interesting. My job is just to produce lost information and bring it back to our time. But, yeah, people when they read it say, “I know this and I don’t know how I know it, but I know it and I know it’s true.” a

God Poem If you sit long enough in the dark you can see it, see its texture, press your fingers just in front of your eyes and feel it, the slight give and spring of the dark, the fur of the dark. The churr and cricket-dense thicket of sound fills your ears, pours into the drums. You are underwater in the dark. Close your eyes. Screw up your mouth like a child. Don’t scream just to hear the glub of your own trapped voice

which is which. Feel the dark again. Press your fingertips against it lay your palms flat on its breathing flank press your face into its thick ribs rub your thumbs against its skin. It will not eat you nor will it come close enough. It will not answer. Don’t scream. Listen to the crickets twitching inside your ears. Watch the dark. If you watch long enough without blinking your eyes will fool you and it will seem to move. ~ Marya Hornbacher

the rough fist of night thrust down your throat. Again you’ve confused God with the dark. One is nowhere. The other wraps around your throat like vines. We forget

Welcome He needed a place to live Asked if he could stay Having plenty of room I agree. His brothers came The same request. I agree. They needed homes Privacy Could they chop down Just a few trees? I agree. They needed food. Can we catch your fish Kill your deer Hunt your boar Slay your bear? I agree.

We could grow crops Irrigate the land Change your waterways Tame the animals. I concede. We will set up markets School the children, women Whack the forest Change everything to our liking – Just gut it all and rebuild. With shock, I freeze. Everything?
