Let’s resolve conflict before it begins in America to prescribe a pill that may or may not help, and that underlies our systemic failure in providing even adequate mental health care.

from the Editor

by Tim Miejan Here’s what we know: As of November 17, about 400 people have been killed in nearly 300 mass shootings in the United States. Thus far this year, about 10,000 people have been killed by firearms in the United States. What’s clear by now is that the will of this nation is to keep calm and carry on despite the bloodshed. Of course, whenever a mass murder takes place — especially in a school — half of us freak out and call for stricter gun control legislation. But that accomplishes nothing when the nation as a whole cannot agree that something should be done to curb the violence. As a nation, we’re a Jackin-the-Box that pops up all wide-eyed and fearful and demanding change when mass shootings happen, but a week later we’re back quietly in our box where we stay until the next time. I understand that random mass murders in America don’t relate at all to murders by extremist factions abroad, but in the aftermath of the recent Paris attacks that left 129 people dead and more than 200 people wounded, Americans are screaming at the president to bomb Isis off the planet, and to hell with innocents who may be caught in the crossfire. That’s the rub. We’re quick to act as judge, jury and executioner and

“We have a juvenile justice system that in many states is bankrupt and is starting too late. You cannot start with a 16- or 17-year-old who has dropped out of school and who was the drug dealer’s gofer when he was 13. You’ve got to start earlier…. We can do tremendous amounts of good through conflict resolution programs in our public schools.” Attorney General Janet Reno speaking 20 years ago

pronounce death to “others” who commit mass murder when they don’t speak our language, practice our religion and don’t look like us. We’re even too afraid of these people to help the refugees. Funny, this coming from a nation of immigrants. Homegrown terror

Mass murderers in America don’t share an extremist religious ideology. There’s virtually no way to predict who will be the next person to snap. But here’s what we can safely assume: These random mass murderers in America probably share a common hatred because other people, especially their peers, don’t see them for who they are. They also are not able to identify a viable alternative to violence when they are spinning out of control, internally. Another common link among mass murderers in America may be the use of psychiatric medications that leave them prisoners in their own minds. We’re quick

Everything I’ve written up to this point is nothing new. What is important now is that we begin to arm our children with something more powerful than the weapon they may pick up later in an act of revenge: effective tools to resolve conflicts. Probably every state and most schools of higher education have studied and identified peaceful ways to resolve conflict. They’ve created such programs as peer mediation and improved parental involvement. What I wonder is why every child in America isn’t learning this from prekindergarten through high school? Why do we only teach these tools in schools where local educators and parents see such value? Shouldn’t every child in America learn healthy ways to respond when they have problems with others? And shouldn’t young boys especially (94 percent of mass murderers are male) be taught alternative ways to deal with their anger? To the boys

This column is about the boys of America who don’t fit in. The square pegs. The outcasts. The malcontents who may not even have parents who care. Perhaps the most anonymous students in school. Perhaps the kids on pills to control their anxiety or anti-social tendencies. After years of abuse by others, and years of selfconflict and thoughts of self-harm and no sense of self-worth, they grow up and some of them kill others and then themselves. Isn’t it time for America, as a whole, to care more about its children? To spend more on them than it does on weapons of mass destruction? Our inattention to them is resulting in too much collateral damage. a

Utilize ‘holiday madness’ to your advantage with simple methods by T. Renee Richardson From seeing Christmas decorations out before Halloween to decorated fake trees displayed until March, the over-commercialization of the holiday season can push our irritation buttons — if we allow it. Following are three simple, effective ways to use “holiday madness” to your advantage in your personal and business growth in a way that honors your Spirit:   Transmute irritation and anger into passion, drive and determination. Emphasize what the season means to you. Never mind what the media is presenting. Never mind what the neighbors are or are not doing. What do you appreciate about this time of year? What do you appreciate about your life overall? How are you bringing that appreciation into the world, now?   Transmute the excess energy in the atmosphere into your own prosperity and abundance energy. The overemphasis is seated in energy flow — specifically cash money most of the time. Tap into that to increase your own prosperity flow, without blame or shame. Do you have a different idea for how all of that prosperity energy should be used? Breathe life into it by visualizing it. Even if you believe you do not personally have the means to manifest your vision at this time, someone else may, and they may pick up on your vibra-

tion. You never know what might manifest from your clear, focused intent. But you have to put it out there instead of reacting. What would you do if you had access to all the funds being directed into holiday hype? Remain creative.   Claim

your power and command it — literally change your mind. Take responsibility for your thought content. Catch yourself getting annoyed and replace the feeling with something that brings you joy. Even if it’s not a specific thought as mentioned above, shift your focus to something else. Do it incrementally if that helps. The point is that you are — literally — creating a new train of thought. Don’t allow the media and/or the mainstream hype to control or even influence your life or your day. You have a bigger purpose than that. The world needs you to be you! a

IN MEMORIAL Carl Llewellyn Weschcke

Insiah Vawda Beckman

Carl Llewellyn Weschcke, 85, passed peacefully on November 7, 2015 surrounded by family. He was Chairman and the driving force behind Llewellyn Worldwide, Ltd., the oldest and largest publishers of New Age, metaphysical, self-help, and spirituality books in the world. Weschcke was a life-long student of a broad range of metaphysical, spiritual and occult subjects, which led him to the purchase of the Llewellyn publishing company in 1961. He relocated the company to his home on Summit Avenue in St. Paul. The mansion was said to be haunted and became the subject of many investigations and news stories through the 1960s and 1970s and remains well-known to this day. Authors and booksellers referred to Weschcke as “the Father of the New Age” because of his early and aggressive public sponsorship of astrology, magic, metaphysics, paganism, parapsychology, tantra, Wicca and yoga. Weschcke and Llewellyn contributed to the burgeoning New Age movement in the 1960s and 1970s, sponsoring Gnosticon Festivals, opening an occult school and bookstore, and publishing the occult newspaper Gnostica. He is a former Wiccan High Priest and played a leading role in the rise of Wicca and Paganism during the 1960s and 1970s. In the fall of 1973 Weschcke helped organize the Council of American Witches and became its chairperson. He was also the 7th Past Grandmaster of the Ordo Aurum Solis. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Babson College, studied law at LaSalle University, and advanced study toward a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Minnesota. In 1959 he was elected president of the NAACP’s Minnesota branch and elected vice president of the ACLU’s Minnesota branch. In addition to book publishing he has worked in the pharmaceutical industry, furniture manufacture, and real estate management. With Llewellyn, he has worked in all aspects of the business and has co-authored ten books with Dr. Joe Slate of Athens, Alabama. Carl is survived by wife Sandra and son Gabe, his wife Michele, and their three daughters. Sandra is president and treasurer of Llewellyn Worldwide and Gabe serves as vice president. They plan to carry on Carl’s legacy championing of alternative approaches to mind, spirit and body. The public memorial took place at O’Halloran & Murphy in Woodbury, MN. a

Insiah Vawda Beckman of Ramsey, MN, passed away on October 24, 2015. Insiah was a mentor to many people in the Holistic community. In partnership with her husband, Gary, she was co-owner of The Edge magazine until 2009 and co-owner of Edge Life Expos & Events. She was born in South Africa and moved to the Unites States in 1995 after resigning from a corporate management position. She was a Reiki master, minister, teacher and intuitive reader. She channeled a group of Light Beings known as “The Counsel of Elders” to assist others in tapping into the higher frequencies of divine love. Her conclusion on having studied several religions and spiritual paths was that all teachings are based on Love; her religious belief was Love. Insiah is survived by: her husband, Gary; a step-child; three step-grandchildren; four nephews and nieces; many sisters, brothers, relatives and friends. Owners of The Edge — Tim Miejan and Cathy Jacobsen — share their condolences with the family and treasure the many moments they shared in Insiah’s presence. The following are public tributes to Insiah that were collected since her passing:

 I vividly remember the day I met Gary and

Insiah Beckman for the first time. I was a young attorney who wanted to follow my calling to give talks about psychic ability. They were… well, they were the oddest couple I had ever met. They also took a chance on me. I thought they were odd because Gary was all Earth and Insiah was all Spirit. I remember thinking that, together, they formed a link between the two worlds in a way I had never seen before. Years later, having gone from a professional relationship to a deep bond of friendship with them both, I can tell you that the Universe created an amazing thing when it brought them together. You see, I can’t talk about one without the other. We golfed together, we worked together, we laughed a lot and we all ate and swooned over Insiah’s cooking. When she was diagnosed with incurable cancer, I told Insiah that if I were in her place I would be smoking a cigar and having a scotch. She just laughed and took a sip of her water. It isn’t easy being a link between Spirit and Earth, but Insiah did it until she just couldn’t anymore. The day she died, and for two days afterwards, she came to me. All I could feel was

love. No words. She was like that. Pure love. Hold that bridge for us, dear Insiah. Sometimes we forget where it is. — Kathryn Harwig, Maple Grove, MN  Love. That is what our friend Insiah gave to

anyone and everyone. She could look at a child and pronounce them an “Indigo child” or an old soul. She loved children so. She loved our friend Gary in so many ways. What a gift it was to have witnessed that. She is adding more light to the heavenly realm for all of us. Thank you, Insiah. We love you back.. — Joan Crawford-Dietsch & Jack Dietsch from the Minneapolis School of Massage, Blaine, MN  A great Light has left this dimension and jour-

neyed to the next. I first met Insiah at the Edge Life Expo. She told me we had been together in ceremonies at Lake Titicaca. I cannot recall my past lives, except in dreams. I felt such love and soul recognition in her presence that I accepted the truth of her reading. I wish you Love and Light on your continuing journey, Beloved Insiah. — Janet Michele Red Feather, Shakopee, MN  I am not one to believe in angels, or anything

for that matter. Yet, when you see someone who embodies that archetypal presence, you can’t help but think, “Well, at least one exists.” I have dealt with and spoken to Insiah on many occasions, and even though she rightfully looked at me like I had three heads at times, her love, appreciation, joy and kindness would always shine through. It just felt good being in her presence. Now that she is seemingly gone, those of us who understand this transition can have even more access to her glorious presence. I’d say that I’ll miss you, Insiah, but I’d be lying — for I see and feel you even now. — Hanakia Zedek, Minneapolis, MN  Insiah was very prominent in the early days

of my new Spiritual Journey. I will be forever grateful for her guidance. — Stewart Onsum, Plymouth, MN   The Unity North Spiritual Center community

was blessed to have Insiah channel wisdom from her guides for us monthly for many years. We all miss her loving soul, her cheerful presence and her reassurance that we are all blessed and loved. While she is not in body, we all know she is present and working for everyone and the planet from the other side. We love you, Insiah. — Ann Mongeau, Spring Lake Park, MN   You will be missed! — JS, St. Joseph, MN

 I remember Insiah, not so much by her

picture but by the Music of her Soul. She came into the recording studio one day with her dear friend Glo, and together they had their Soul Song recorded. It was such an honor for me to meet her at the Soul level, such grace and purity. I never saw her after that day in bodily form, but we communicated several times by email after she had grown ill and tired in this earthly form. I sent her my love then as I do now, as she is ever present in the One Divine Presence that all are a part. Blessings, dear Insiah. — Ray, Perdido Key, Florida  I loved Insiah very much and she was a

great inspiration to my life!!!! — Sue Tomsich, Prior Lake, MN  When you mention the name Insiah,

everyone mentions about how loving she was — and while I totally agree with that, when I think of Insiah, I think of laughter. She loved to laugh. Last year when she was diagnosed with cancer, we began the third segment of our relationship. The first segment was when she and Gary got married. I was fortunate to be invited to their wedding, and that’s when our friendship began…a chat here and there, usually about business and the expos. The second phase was much more intimate. She was having some serious problems with her eyes and came to me for healings. It was a very special time for both of us, as she shared much about her life. We cried, we laughed, we connected on a much deeper level that remained until last November when the relationship got even deeper. She called to tell me she had pancreatic and liver cancer and had only a few months to live. We had two choices. We could pretend she wasn’t dying and talk about superficial things to pass the time, or we could talk openly and honestly about dying — and that’s the road she chose. For the first couple of

months, we talked almost daily and always found some silly thing to laugh about. Every phone call ended on a happy note. She’d call if she was in pain and I would quickly send some healing energy. We always kept the conversations real and down to earth. Dying is an important process and she went through it with such grace and ease. We spoke on the phone less often as she gained some of her strength back, but we stayed in touch until June. That’s when things shifted for her once again. I picked up the phone to call her one morning and my inner voice said, “Your friend is not there.” I wondered if that meant she had passed away, but what I heard next was that someone else was living in her body, having the experience of life here on Earth. Insiah had lost a child when she was in her early thirties and always remained in touch with her daughter’s soul. It was her daughter’s soul that was sharing Insiah’s body. Insiah’s soul had not severed her connection to the body, so that she could come and go while she prepared for her new life on the other side. It was very important to her that her daughter have the experience of being in a body here on Earth. While I had never seen anything like this before, it made sense to me that this loving woman would do this. When she finally made the call to end her connection to her physical body, she and her daughter went back home together. It was really beautiful. She came to me two days after her death and I was astounded to see the aura on that soul of hers. It was enormous. All white and shiny — and she was giggling at my reaction. She had a big smile on her face and said, “Watch what I can do.” She floated up to a big white cloud in the sky and became one with it, making the cloud huge. She popped her head out of the cloud and it was the funniest sight ever. We both laughed so hard. That’s my friend Insiah. — Echo Bodine, Bloomington, MN a

A Message from the Circle of Life Angel by Lori Falk The loss of a loved one we hold close to our hearts may be one of the most difficult things we ever encounter in this lifetime. The hardest part to understand for those of us left behind is the reality that everything really is in divine order. While we miss them dearly with all our heart, they are exactly where they are supposed to be…and they arrived there in perfect timing, just as it was planned prior to this present incarnation. Their soul has simply moved on to the next level of Consciousness. You can hear them in the wind…as they are only a breath away. You can sense them around you…because often they are. You can feel them in your heart…for your love holds them there. The Circle of Life Angel was created to assist us in working through our emotions surrounding this loss. First and foremost, she reminds us that life goes on for all eternity; it just changes form.   see Angel on page 19

Reflections on Winter our featured topic

10  www.edgemagazine.net

THE ENERGETIC SHIFT OF THE WINTER SEASON by Christa Griggs Regardless of where you live or what the climate is, Winter heralds a powerful energetic shift. Darkness descends earlier. Climates shift. Trees shed. The air becomes cooler, drier, crisper. After the rush of the holidays and when the adrenaline wears off, there is a stark silence that fills the pregnant void that had once been overflowing with planning, traveling, shopping and celebrating. Our cups have been emptied of all that there was to give, and we can start to shift our focus from our outer world into our inner world, where we can explore the beautiful landscape that resides within us and commune with our True Nature. To do so, we are called into hibernation, into a deep sleep where we can let a part of our past die so that when Spring arrives, we can be reborn. Winter symbolizes an initiation of the Soul that requires the kind of silence we experience when we walk into the woods on a crisp winter day when there is no other sound than our footsteps. In these woods, the barren trees serve to remind us of the beauty of our nakedness. After all has been shed, there is nothing left to hide except for their essence. Standing tall, deeply rooted, these trees share their vulnerability with us in a way that makes

SPIRITUAL HEART OF WINTER Spirit Leaves

by Janet Michele Red Feather More than a few times, I’ve caused an uneasy tension in elevators and hallways by proffering an unexpected opinion on the state of the stratosphere. In response to the Minnesota nice inquiry, “How about this weather — something else, huh?” I tend to reply, “I love winter. Makes me feel alive!” This regularly wins me more opprobrium than acceptance. I can’t help it: I embrace winter, with all of my heart and soul. From the first slice of chill in the striated air to the full-fledged blanketing of everything in whiteness, I am there. I am present. I am utterly and blissfully alive. It’s simply miraculous, this seasonal flow. We delight in autumn’s prelude of brilliance and inevitable “rheostating” down of its vibrant array — first green, gold, yellow, red, burnt orange, peach, and flamingo, morphing to sienna, umber, brown, and beige. Ultimately, these turn to crisp leaves layered in piles of death, mulched into the hope of moist, unguent soil. Soon, there will be no trace of them. It is that brief season of late fall — just before the first snow — that I find most entrancing. I don’t demand bliss. A poet in my early days, I wallow in poignancy: that odd admixture of nostalgia, longing and soft sentiment tinged with bittersweetness. Poignancy is the stuff of artists. The heart feels a kind of prehensive knowing that soon, rough

us feel humility for both Mother Nature, as well as our own true nature. We are given an opportunity to connect to both their and our authenticity. It takes strength and courage to stand before someone, even ourselves, naked and bare, revealing ourselves as we are, as if to say: “This is who I am. I am that I am. Accept me as I am.” In this vulnerability, there comes such power because there is nothing else left to lose or to fear; we have shown everything of ourselves. There is no longer any place to hide. When we enter into this state of pure being, we can see how we are all connected by our Universal Oneness, that we share the same fears, vulnerabilities and wounding. And when we look across from us and see another’s nakedness, we can evoke the same love that we have bestowed upon ourselves to the other. The light that we used to depend on outside of us can now be felt from within. As the Winter season appears, what is it that needs to be shed in our lives? What weight have we been carrying that needs to be released? What masks or facades have we been wearing that no longer serve us? In Winter’s darkness, the moon shines brightly against the night’s sky. Her presence is prominent and her cycles can be felt deeply. Without all of the external distractions of Spring, Summer and Fall, we have the opportunity to pay more attention to the Universe’s wonders, including the Universe within us. We must call upon courage again, this time to face Winter’s dark  see Shift on page 12

blizzard winds and ice will isolate us from everything we love. Late autumn/early winter is the perfect purveyor of this state of being and complements my feelings with an emotional exactitude. The last few leaves hang by a thread to the trees; furry grey clouds make the sky’s lighting a bit brooding; and the crisp, still warm, windy air — all work together to capture the very transient nature of our existence. The best part is that feeling of chilled imminence right before it snows: somehow we sense it coming. Snowflakes in Minnesota are so large, they often seem to drift heavily, reluctantly down from formidable skies — and for a moment, if I watch them alight on the windshield of my car, I can almost discern the familiar symmetric artistry of individual crystalline flakes as each dissolves on the glass. It’s easier in winter to focus upon spiritual matters. It’s a great time to read the dharma. Inside, there’s a fire going and a blanket over me. I curl up with a book, or write on my laptop, or just dream. The blinds are open to a view of the Minnesota River. I begin to wonder about the precious, furry little creatures that are holed up as I am — only they are in tree trunks and burrows. I pray they find warmth and shelter. Through them, I am able to access compassion. I like to watch the snow falling from inside my fourth-floor apartment. Beyond the balcony, a cold wind carries the onslaught of white flurries on a diagonal. I marvel at the trillions of flakes, too many to conceptualize. Somehow, they manage to settle into a soft-looking coverlet that forms gently over

branches, rooftops and rolling hills. How do all of those crystalline stars manage to nestle together so impeccably? Their beauty helps me appreciate a mystery that lies somewhere beyond my imagination. Everything looks more beautiful in winter. Bare branches speak symphonies of latticework etched against a frosty sky. Rivers and lakes shudder into three shades of deep blue, lacy layers of ice and frozen water preserved in attitudes of utter calm. Blue shadows spread across white expanses of freshly fallen snow, and there is a feeling of unmatchable stillness that fills my soul with great awe. Winter means isolation for most people, but I treasure my solitude. Every single aspect — including an awareness of the impermanence of life — has a positive dimension to be recognized and cherished. It’s all in the way we represent ideas in our minds. We don’t have to represent death or loss as tragic. We can experience the beauty in all things willing to be with us briefly before continuing on their sacred journey. We are all traveling, as well. a Janet Michele Red Feather, J.D., M.A., has taught literature and composition for 18 years at the university, state, tribal and community college levels. ness, to descend into the Underworld. Here, in this darkness, we can meet the faces of our lost Selves, our Shadows, which have been shut away. Using the lantern of our Inner Light, we can ask our Shadows to come out of the darkness and to reveal themselves to us. What purpose did they once serve? What is it that we have not wanted to confront? Why did we cast them into darkness in the first place? How can bringing them to light help us on our Soul’s journey at this time? While darkness can be frightening, it can also bring us the joy of liberation as we shed the distorted Shadow masks to reveal their underlying purity and innocence. As we integrate our Shadows, one by one, we step further into our completeness so that we can more fully live from our Illuminated Wholeness, our True Nature. Winter’s silence creates an inner space for us to dwell in. When we listen closely and remain still long enough, this silence can reveal the voice of our True Nature through our naked vulnerability and the integration of our lost innocence. Winter helps us to start the rite of passage process that gets fully inaugurated in the Spring. a Christa Griggs spent her career working in Business Consulting, and then she decided to respond to the call to study Psychology and Spirituality. A SPIRITUAL PERSPECTIVE ON THE WINTER SEASON by Marianne Soucy In this article, I share a spiritual perspective on the season of winter. I was inspired to use a special approach: Drawing an oracle card from the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards (by Doreen Virtue) followed by doing a Sacred Spirit Journey (similar to shamanic journey) to gain further insights on the topic. As I prepare the cards and myself and hold the intention, I connect through my heart and experience that I am standing with my spirit guide in my heart center in the middle of a circle, and a number of goddesses forming the circle itself. Then I suddenly hear one of the goddesses whisper with a soft voice very close to my left ear: “I’m here.” I finish shuffling the cards and draw one. It turns out to be the Goddess Sarasvati. The card says: “The Arts” and the phrase “Express yourself through creative activities.” The accompanying booklet suggests we surround ourselves in music, allowing it to stimulate our creativity, and put our creative ideas into action. When you think of it, it is

a perfect suggestion for making use of the winter season, when our usual outdoor activities are often limited. What creative activities do you feel inspired to do during the winter season?   How about singing, dancing, writing, or perhaps drawing or painting? Or if you are drawn to working with oracle cards, you could use the winter season to dive deeper into working with the cards; a creative as well as a spiritual pursuit.   Let’s end with a message from one of the Goddess Sarasvati’s

’TIS THE SEASON FOR REFLECTION by Bob Fickes Winter is a season of harvest and reflection. After planting the seeds we sow to improve our life throughout the year, there comes a time when we harvest the fruits of everything we have done and need to take time to reflect on our life and where we want to go in the New Year. This year has seen many challenges as the global consciousness expanded into a higher vibration. When we talk about higher vibrations, we simply mean that our Inner Consciousness is becoming more perceptive. Consciousness is full of spiritual electricity that influences our ability to see reality, i.e. all the things that we can normally ignore because we don’t want to notice them. Higher vibrations increase our level of consciousness. When we turn on the light we can see more of the dirt in the

companions, the white swan, with a message I received during my Sacred Spirit Journey. As I begin the journey, the energy of the goddess and my helping spirits becomes stronger and clearer. I hear the sound of water and music. I find it interesting that the focus is mostly on the sounds, for usually I tend to “feel” more, for example experiencing myself standing on the ground or feeling myself as a tree, etc. My spirit guide and I move closer to the sounds and find ourselves in a landscape similar to what is being depicted on the Sarasvati card. The goddess is sitting by the water playing an instrument and singing, and she smiles to us as we approach. She continues with her singing and playing, and a white swan that is nearby comes walking over to us. Swan greets us and says: “Allow yourself to dream. Winter is a good time to let your dreams take flight. Go within and discover the beautiful landscape within and let your soul rest and rejuvenate. Allow yourself to find the peace within that inspires beautiful dreams to flourish, and find ways of bringing those dreams out in creative ways that you feel inspired to at the time.   see

room. We call this a challenge. Every challenge that we faced this year presented to us an opportunity for change. This was the year when we could finally take significant steps to improve our life and move in the direction of our highest good. It doesn’t always look that way, but if you look back you can see that it was all for the best. As Winter sets in and the weather becomes colder, everything slows down and all of Nature withdraws into itself to rejuvenate and prepare for the next growing season. Human consciousness is part of the natural rhythm of the universe. After every cycle of activity, there is a cycle of rest and reflection that allows us to slow down and center our energy enough to get a new perspective on where we want to go next. In the ancient days, this was a time of cleaning the house and preparing for the New Year. It is not a time for action. It is a time to relax and reflect on what we are doing and what we want to feel in our new life in the future. Reflection helps us to review the past year and peacefully observe where our energy is going. Meditation in any form allows us to look inside

WINTER IS TIME TO GIVE YOUR KIDNEYS SOME LOVE by Warren King In the healing philosophy of the Far East, the energy flow in our environment is reflected in our bodies. In the system of the Five Elements, the Water Element corresponds to the night-time in the daily cycle and the winter in the yearly cycle. The organs associated with water and thus winter are the kidneys and the urinary bladder. Isn’t it amazing that your two kidneys, which are the size of your fists, can filter you blood, all one-and-a-half gallons of it, 400 times a day! The adrenals are associated with the kidneys and have to do with handling stress and keeping inflammation down. In Chinese Medicine, the kidneys are viewed as the center of the life force. They enable us to go out into the world and handle whatever we encounter during the day. If you get really cold hands and feet in the winter, it could have to do with the condition of the kidneys. The kidneys are thought to rule the bones and the joints, so if you have bone loss, low back pain or painful joints, you need to take care of your kidneys. Hearing is also associated with the water element, so hearing loss and other old age symptoms like graying of hair, fatigue, losing teeth and memory are all kidney issues. One way to diagnose the condition of your kidneys is by looking at the skin under your eyes, if they are dark or puffy then they are weak. On the emotional level, you know your kidneys are strong if you have a strong will, confidence and good memory. Some signs of weakness are depression, lack of motivation, fears, sexual issues, sleep problems and a need to control others. Energy peaks in the meridians of kidney and bladder from 3 to 7 p.m., so if you energy drops at that

and see what our heart wants. This is not about thinking. It is about tuning in to our true nature and feeling what our heart is trying to tell us. The heart is the home of our soul. While the mind is shouting at us to do this or that, our soul is whispering with gentle feelings from our heart. Take time to listen to the whisper of the heart. If your mind is too noisy, you will jump too quickly and make a mistake. Winter is an ideal time to sit by the fireside and just tune in. “What do I really want? What will make me happy?” You may not realize it, but your consciousness is more alert now than ever before in your life. If you are just blindly thinking without tuning in, you will not notice the message from your soul that is helping you to see things you didn’t notice before and make better choices. The right choices always come from the silent whispers of our heart. Taking time to relax and tune in is part of the cycle of Nature. What today we call a dream becomes tomorrow’s reality. The answers are all inside of you. The universe

time, your kidneys may need some support. The flavor associated with the kidneys is salty, so a good quality sea salt is important, plus some other foods like miso soup, soy sauce or umeboshi plums, as well as sea vegetables. In the winter, we should eat fewer raw foods and use longer cooking times, and have soups and stews more often. There are some powerful acupuncture points for your kidneys and bladder between your Achilles tendon and the ankle bones, on the inside and outside of your foot. Put steady pressure on these points for a minute or so if they are tender. Take care of your kidneys this winter. Keep them warm, eat nourishing foods and take the time to rest. Winter is the time of the year for going within. Meditate more and avoid excessive thinking. Keep a reasonable schedule and make some time each day to do nothing. Rub your hands together and put your hands over your kidneys and send them some gratitude and love… they are the batteries you need for the rest of your life. a Warren King is a licensed acupuncturist and natural healer based in Minnetonka, MN. loves you and wants to see you happy. Our life is one cell in the Cosmic Body of the universe. The universe is not trying to punish you, because to punish any cell in the body of the universe brings pain to the Divine Being that we are all a part of. The universe wants you to be happy and make choices that will not only improve your life but help to change this world to be a better place for us all to live. If you listen, you can hear the whisper and feel the movement of your heart as it motivates you to take new steps. Promise your self to take time this Winter to reflect on what really makes you happy. Hold that dream in your heart and allow the energy to build. HERE’S TO HAPPILY HUNKERING DOWN THIS WINTER by Joanne Biewald Even though I hear talk about dreading Winter, it is not dreadful to me. More and more I find that the idea of getting “snowed in” appeals to me! The adventure I now seek is satisfied in reading, writing and getting introspective in all areas of my life. My spiritual practices include focusing on keeping my thoughts positive and constructive, health goals, loving relationships, and a warm, supportive atmosphere at home. This daily practice strengthens and supports me. As life continues to present challenges and conflicts, it becomes easier to view them as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks. The spiritual philosophy I have practiced for about 30 years is called Science of Mind. My prayers are affirmative prayers, called Spiritual Mind Treatment. Whenever a situation in my life appears challenging, I write a Spiritual Mind Treatment around it. Then…I let it go. I turn it over to the Universe. Included in my prayers is the phrase, “this, or whatever is higher or better.” I have experienced the manifestation of Perfect Solutions time and time again…for myself and others. Life presents a variety of experiences, and it can sometimes feel like a rollercoaster. Tuning in to the beauty and easy flow of nature, can be a helpful tool in riding the waves of life. A few years ago when I lived on the 18th floor of a condo on the Mississippi River, I marveled at the changes in the river as the seasons changed. It inspired me to write the following: The River is a Mirror

In the winter she’s a beauty As the ice breaks up and flows. Each day a new formation, As Southward bound she goes. Her source is in Itasca Park, An unassuming spring. Who’d guess that this auspicious start Such power and might would bring? From my vantage point in condo-land, I have a bird’s-eye view. As I gaze, she calms the nerves, And gently passes through. The water’s sometimes choppy… 14  www.edgemagazine.net

Sometimes mirror still. And the moon’s reflection Always gives my heart a thrill.

The blessings of the river… All beauty on this earth, Is ours to love and care for And enjoy for all it’s worth.

Beside the moon, the city lights Shine back majestically. There is no charge for this delight. I drink it in most gratefully. Yet sometimes when the moon’s not out And the wind blows cruel and cold, She seems a sort of mystery… A story yet untold. Is there a parallel to life? Our moods that rise and fall… Sometimes light and carefree, Sometimes a strange dark pall. Our Source is no trickle. Our Source is ocean deep. It’s up to us how much we use… The gift is ours to keep.

So as I watch the river Flow forward on its way, I speak a word of gratitude For Nature and this day! May we all embrace each season and the unique beauty we are offered. As Winter enfolds us, my plan is to happily hunker down, go within, grow and glow! a Joanne Biewald started a center a couple years ago, which embraces the Science of Mind philosophy. The Wounded Healer Honoring those who have suffered and now help others overcome similar challenges by Von Braschler

An excerpt from Aura Reading for Chakra Healing

16  www.edgemagazine.net

The role of the wounded

healer abounds in legends and inspirational myths. We see the wounded healer as a dynamic force in ancient Greek mythology, shamanic legend, religious symbolism, and modern therapy. Overall, what makes wounded healers effective is that they have suffered and continue to suffer after coming to grip’s with the source of their pain through much soul-searching. They have risen to the challenge and managed to energize themselves as functional people who are willing to share what they have learned and help others overcome similar challenges. Chiron

The oldest recorded legend of a wounded healer might be Chiron, the Centaur child of the god Kronos (or Zeus), who mated with the water nymph Philyra. The nymph tried to evade the great god by turning herself into a mare. Kronos then transformed himself into a stallion and mounted her. Philyra was disgusted to give birth to a creature who was half man and half horse, even though immortal. So she abandoned Chiron. This was innocent Chiron’s first unfortunate wound from outside forces. But Chiron was raised by the sun god Apollo, the healing god. As a result, Chiron became a great healer himself and overcame his unfortunate psychological wound to help a great many people in his life. As an immortal, Chiron should have lived forever as a great mentor and healer. His misfortune continued to change his life, however. He was accidentally wounded by a poisoned arrow from Herakles (Hercules). The arrow was coated with the blood of the Hydra, known to cause wounds that could never heal. So Chiron would suffer forever, since he was destined to live forever as an immortal. He could never fully heal. The god Zeus interceded at the request of Herakles and offered Chiron a chance for eternal peace with an end to his suffering. He could take the place of the chained god Prometheus, imprisoned and tortured for attempting to bring fire from Mount Olympus to mortals below. Upon his death, Chiron was honored by Zeus by placing him in the heavens with the constellation of Centaurus. Just recently, Chiron assumed an even bigger role. This asteroid or planetoid was discovered by astronomers in 1977 orbiting between Saturn and Uranus near the outermost edge of our solar system. Astrologers have given great significance

to Chiron. They generally perceive Chiron as embodying the characteristics of both adjacent planets. Uranus is thought to produce awareness, whereas Saturn is thought to materialize awareness and bring it into material form. Saturn represents a sort of outer being. Chiron, as a place in the heavens or in one’s personal astrology chart, then, is thought to be a sort of shamanic bridge between space and time reality. Classically speaking, the Chiron wound is an injury to one’s instinctual nature and an injury to one’s trust. This type of wound is caused by a thoughtless or careless act — most likely an accident of birth or youthful innocence. There is no one who can be blamed for intentionally wounding someone who suffers as the Centaur Chiron suffered. The greatest pain or challenge one endures from childhood, then, eventually can become the source of great wisdom and healing powers for others, if you overcome these burdens heroically like Chiron. Astrologers maintain that the position of Chiron in one’s birth chart reflects the specific archetypical energies of the potential wounded healer within a person. Amazingly, the discovery of Chiron in 1977 has ushered a groundswell of interest in New Age healing and holistic therapy. The emphasis has been on healing the whole person from the outside in treating the psychospiritual aspects of our being as it impacts our physical health. The approach has been largely shamanic, which considers the spiritual wholeness of our being in terms of what ails us. Wounded healers today

We see many examples of wounded healers who help heal and strengthen others in our society today. Some of the best psychologists are often people who have overcome psychological problems as children. Some of the best dentists are people who understand pain. Some of the best allergists are doctors who suffered from debilitating allergies themselves as children. Some of our best physical therapists are people who have overcome physical shortcomings. People without speech often make the best teachers for sign language. Reformed alcoholics and drug addicts often make the best therapists or coaches in rehabilitation programs. These are people who have suffered and overcome great hardships. They continue to suffer, but have become strong enough in coping with their wounds to help others. They become excellent coaches, mentors, advisers, therapists, and healers. They understand and empathize. Moreover, they can share their insights on what it takes to deal with these special problems. Shamanic healers

ancient and appears in many cultures. In many nature-based folk religions, the shamanic healer is more than medicine man or witch doctor. The shamanic healer is the bridge between the people and the world of spirit and the bridge between their physical world and the unseen world beyond the physical. The shamanic healer in many such cultures is often a lame or injured person, most likely crippled since birth. The healer, nonetheless, walks between the two worlds and returns to his or her people with insight that will heal, teach and strengthen. Shamans were our first doctors, priests and psychologists. They saw these functions fitting neatly together in the human body. To them, whole health included the body, mind and spirit. They saw damage to the soul as dangerous to the mind, and damage to the mind as deadly to the body. So they worked from the outside, entering the world of spirit on behalf of their people. Shamans would enter the dream world. They would commune with spirit. They would talk to the faces behind the forces of nature that impact our world. They saw a direct connection to our relationship to nature and our overall health and well-being. Harmony between people and their natural environment was considered important by the shamanic healer. If nature was offended, the spirit world was upset. As a result, people would suffer from their alienation from the natural world of spirit. Obviously, they saw the living body as more than physical, but connected by layers of subtle spirit that could be visited as levels of reality approached through altered consciousness. To enter the spirit realm, the shamanic healer would begin with a vision and project himself to that level of being by altering consciousness. As with Chiron, the knowledge of the shaman’s difficult journey produced healing insight. We have a rich tradition of shamanism in our modern society. If anything, shamanism is reborn in our time with healers who see the value of this approach. We see it in new psycho-spiritual therapy with an emphasis on the inner journey and connection to the spirit realm. The new interest in ecology and our environment speaks to this search for soul redemption and healing. King Arthur’s grail quest

The grail legend about King Arthur’s deep suffering is familiar to many. At the center of this great adventure tale, however, is a story of desolation and emptiness. King Arthur’s land suddenly falls into a strange, dark time. Spirits are low. Arthur himself falls ill. He dispatches his noble Knights of the Round Table in a quest for the lost Holy Grail. If Arthur receives the grail, his health will be restored. The knights embark on perilous journeys, going in different directions. How 18  www.edgemagazine.net

will they recognize the Holy Grail, if they should encounter it? The knights encounter horrible, challenging ordeals along the way. They spend years in this quest, dying on the road. It is the quest to restore the soul and wholeness to the land and its people. Arthur feels the emptiness, but doesn’t know exactly what is wrong. He knows that he lacks something. Arthur’s champions spent their lives searching for a cure to what ailed him. In the end, however, it was a shy knight named Perceval who unraveled the mystery and saved the land. The quest, after all, was really about knowledge and insight. Perceval had to solve a riddle. He found the grail castle, but then had to ask the right question to connect to a larger world. The question showed his humble vulnerability and willingness to admit to a lack of knowledge. In short, the knight on a quest to restore wholeness to the land had to display openness. This openness left the proud knight vulnerable, indeed, and left him open as though wounded. But this is the price of admission to this uncharted region behind the veil. Perceval approached the grail castle for the first time and failed, because he did not ask the question, due to personal shyness. He was unwilling to make himself vulnerable and open. So he left without the grail. When he resumed his mission and visited the grail castle again, he returned with humility and wisdom to admit he needed answers. Perceval is like the wounded shaman who opens himself to the unseen world of spirit and seeks to connect his people with this world of spirit and the knowledge it holds. This is selfless service to humanity. It is the quest for wholeness. Perceval realized that the king suffered, as the land suffered. The two are connected. The king symbolized the people of the land, who also suffered. The quest is completed. The grail represents a quest many people can make to restore their kingliness and connectedness to the land and spirit. The search for wholeness can be a lonely, difficult quest for a sick person, however, without the aid of a good knight. The wounded healer can be that knight on a mission, unraveling the mystery of what unseen forces cripple us. Jesus and Buddha

Jesus of Nazareth might be the ideal wounded healer, considering his suffering and sacrifice as a teacher and healer. He was concerned with the soul and inner emptiness of his people, as well as their physical health and mental well-being. Apparently, he was hunted as an infant by a king who feared his presence. Later as a young man, he went on a journey of personal discovery and returned home to minister to his people. He taught and healed the sick in the open countryside. And one of the great Jesus mysteries for Christians is that his suffering and death sentence gave followers a sense of redemp-

tion and new life. Similarly, Buddha went on a personal journey to find meaning and vitality in life. He was raised in a noble family and lived isolated in a palace. He left that behind as a young man and went on an odyssey through the countryside. Typical of the hero’s journey, his odyssey ended in self discovery. Buddha found people suffering and confused with an inner emptiness. So he ultimately completed his journey of discovery with an inner journey of self. He determined that people suffer because they are ignorant of their true nature and disconnected. What wounded healers can do

Since the age of reason changed the way people view the world, many souls have felt an inner emptiness and disconnectedness. This change in philosophical orientation has alienated humanity from nature and the spirit world. We have turned meadows into shopping centers and parks into parking lots. We have dumped our waste into the rivers and oceans. We have ravaged the forests and scalped patches out of mountain sides. This fragmentation and isolation has damaged our psyche, if not our soul. The proof is the sense of desolation and alienation that many modern people in our society suffer. These are open wounds that leave us feeling empty. How do we return to wholeness and feeling good again? Wounded healers understand how to make their lives whole again by restoring spirit, despite the open wound that will never fully heal. They have learned to meet the challenge of pain and cope with it, rejuvenating themselves with vitality and life. They have returned to wholeness, despite the gaping wound. And they have innate understanding of how they did that. The wounded healer instinctively knows what the rest of us grope in darkness to discover outside mundane reality and instinctively shares this gift of spirit. The wounded healer knows that there is more to us than our physical body and that non-physical wounds can make us totally sick. So wounded healers can communicate non-verbally and without physical contact as empathic healers who connect spirit-to-spirit with their ailing friends. They understand the pain and where it is found, as they have been to this place and returned from the arduous journey, alive and wiser. a Von Braschler writes and leads workshops in the areas of consciousness development, time, chakra healing, pet healing and dream work. Whatever you think or feel, the universe says yes by Robert Moss An excerpt from Sidewalk Oracles: Playing with Signs, Symbols and Synchronicity in Everyday Life Whatever you think or feel, the universe says yes. Perhaps you have noticed this. Yes, we are talking about the law of attraction. It is indeed an ancient law, never a secret to those who live consciously. “All things, which are similar and therefore connected, are drawn to each other’s power,” according to the medieval magus Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim. It is a rule of reality that we attract or repel different things according to the emotions, the attitudes, the feelings and the agendas that we carry. Before you walk into a room or turn a corner, your attitude is there already. It is engaged in creating the situation you are about to encounter. Whether you are remotely conscious of this or not, you are constantly setting yourself up for what the world is going to give you. If you go about your day filled with doom and gloom, the world will give you plenty of reasons to support that attitude. You’ll start looking like that cartoon character who goes about with a personal black cloud over his head that rains only on his parade. Conversely, if your attitude is bright and open to happy surprises, you may be rewarded by a bright day, even when the sky is leaden overhead, and by surprisingly happy encounters. Through energetic magnetism, we attract or repel people, events and even physical circumstances according to the attitudes we embody. This process begins before we speak or act because thoughts and feelings are already actions and our attitudes are out there ahead of us. This requires us to do a regular attitude check, asking, What attitude am I carrying? What am I projecting? It is not sufficient to do this on a head level. We want to check what we are carrying in our body and our energy field. If you go around carrying a repertoire of doom and gloom, you may not say what’s on your mind, but the universe will hear you and support you. Attitude adjustment requires more than reciting the kind of New Age affirmation you see in cute boxes with flowers and sunsets on Facebook. It requires deeper self-examination and self-mobilization. What are you doing? A woman in one of my workshops told me she hears this question, put by an inner voice, many times a day. Sometimes it rattles her and saps her confidence. But she is grateful for the inner questioner that provokes her to look at herself. It’s a question worth putting to yourself any day. As you do that, remember 20  www.edgemagazine.net

that thinking and feeling are also doing. “The passions of the soul work magic.” I borrowed that from a medieval alchemist also beloved by Jung. It conveys something fundamental about our experience of how things manifest in the world around us. High emotions, high passions generate results. When raw energy is loose, it has effects in the world. It can blow things up or bring them together. There is an art in learning to operate when your passions are riding high and to recognize that is a moment when you can make magic. Even when you are in the throes of what people would call negative emotions — rage, anger, pain, grief, even fear — if you can take the force of such emotions and choose to harness and direct them in a certain creative or healing way, you can work wonders, and you can change the world around you. How? Because there is no impermeable barrier between mind and matter. Jung and Pauli in concert, the great psychologist and the great physicist, came around to the idea that the old medieval phrase applies: unus mundus, “one world.” Psyche and physis, mind and matter, are one reality. They interweave at every level of the universe. They are not separate. As Pauli wrote, “Mind and body could be interpreted as complementary aspects of the same reality.” I think this is fundamental truth, and it becomes part of fundamental life operation when you wake up to it. The stronger our emotions, the stronger their effects on our psychic and physical environment. And the effects of our emotions may reach much further than we can initially understand. They can generate a convergence of incidents and energies, for good or bad, in ways that change everything

in our lives and can affect the lives of many others. When we think or feel strongly about another person, we will touch that person and affect his or her mind and body — even across great distances — unless that person has found a way to block that transmission. The great French novelist Honoré de Balzac wrote that “ideas are projected as a direct result of the force by which they are conceived and they strike wherever the brain sends them by a mathematical law comparable to that which directs the firing of shells from their mortars.” Bring in the creative imagination, and it is wonderful how the world can rearrange itself. I heard a beautiful little story about this from a friend in California. She had been consciously building a kind of inner sanctuary, a place of peace and joy where she could take herself anytime in her imagination. She envisioned a lovely place with healing waters, around an oak tree she knows in the natural world. In imagination, she added a swing to the tree, visualizing the ropes fastened to one of its great limbs. She pictured herself rocking happily under the spreading canopy of the oak. She used this image to help her get through a long and sleepless night when she was severely ill. A week later, feeling much restored, she took a hike to the place of the oak. And found that someone had added a swing, exactly where she had placed it in her imagination. Scientific experiments have shown the ability of the human mind and emotions to change physical matter: studies by Masaru Emoto have shown that human emotions can change the nature and composition of water, and the Findhorn experiments have taught us that good thoughts positively affect the growth of plants. Conversely, rage or grief can produce disturbing and sometimes terrifying effects in the physical environment. “We are magnets in an iron globe,” declared Emerson. If we are upbeat and positive, “we have keys to all doors…. The world is all gates, all opportunities, strings of tension waiting to be struck.” Conversely, “a low, hopeless spirit puts out the eyes; skepticism is slow suicide. A philosophy which sees only the worst…dispirits us; the sky shuts down before us.” Whatever our circumstances, we always have the power to choose our attitude, and this can change everything. a Robert Moss is the author of Sidewalk Oracles and numerous other books about dreaming, shamanism, and imagination. December horoscope: breakdown, breakthrough LUNAR ADVENTURES

by Kathie Anderson “Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.” — Victor Hugo At the New Moon in the freedom loving sign of Sagittarius, on December 11, the revolutionary planet, Uranus, will directly oppose the god of war, Mars, igniting a spark of change and urge for freedom. Pay attention to “Aha!” experiences. The day after the Full Moon in the nurturing sign of Cancer, on December 26, Uranus awakens after being retrograde for five months. Now is the time to give birth to your insights! Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…December is the month of giving, so join forces with others, and do something to better the world. Initiate a charity drive in your workplace. Put your ideas out there, and then work cooperatively with your colleagues to serve and protect others. Devote your energy to establishing safe and comfortable homes for others. Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…It’s time to explore your deepest desires and attachments associated with your sexual relationships, joint finances and need for control, in order to expand your relationship with your partner. You could discover that you’ve been imposing your beliefs on him/ her. Instead, drop down into how you feel, and share your feelings with your partner. Gemini (May 21-June 20)…It’s time to grow in a significant relationship, perhaps in regards to sharing a home. By becoming more intimate with another, however, it can mean losing some of your independence, but it’s also possible to experience freedom within commitment. Clearly state your needs, and define what’s yours. Then enjoy creating a space together. Cancer (June 21-July 22)…Are you experiencing a health concern? If yes, your body

may be telling you that you need to improve or change your work environment. Perhaps you feel like you’re too busy with your daily routine to learn a new skill set, yet it’s time to take on the responsibility of living in accordance with your personal truth and principles. An online class may be the solution. Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)…What makes you unique? What are your creative talents? Be originality in action, this month! Explore and pursue your creativity. Go on an artist’s retreat or take an art class in another country, pay attention to your dreams for inspiration, and sell your creative ideas. Financial support may come through, unexpectedly. Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)…On a mundane level, this is a great time to focus on your home — buying, selling, refinancing, cleaning, organizing, decorating. Just be careful not to buy impulsively or overindulge. On a spiritual level, you’re in the process of reorganizing your Soul. Be conscious and use the act of improving your home as a ritual to release your past attachments and embrace your dreams for the future.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)…You’ve been gaining public status, especially on the professional front, but you need to examine how you come across to others and express yourself. It’s time to reinvent your identity. Release an old way of being in groups. The best way to achieve goals is to work as a team. Lead like a parent. Nurture. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan.19)…It may be difficult for you to see the forest for the trees, right now, so just sit down among the trees and contemplate the meaning of your existence. What do you desire to achieve? Chances are you feel the need for action, but if you don’t know where you’re headed you might make a wrong turn. Listen to your intuition! Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)…Are you running with your pack? Do your peers reflect your values, or do your affiliations feel superficial? If they feel superficial, this is an excellent time to broaden your network, and join new organizations that are more in alignment with who you are. Taking a class or traveling would be a great way to meet different people.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)…It’s time to explore how you network with others, and to expand your mind. Even though others may block your growth, keep an open mind and push forward, anyway. Focus on providing compassionate service, and give without the expectation of reward. Simply relating well with others could improve your finances.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)…Are you standing center stage in your life, or have you been standing in the wings? If you would like to be the leading actor in your life, now’s the time to take center stage. You have the energy and drive to transform your career and raise your income, and your audience will find you captivating. Step into the spotlight! a

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)…If you have a strong desire to increase your income, you need to reflect upon your goals and your unconscious behavior patterns. Think about the connection between your feelings of self-worth and what you produce in the world. Allow yourself to daydream. Your imagination will open you up to new ideas and goals. There’s hidden wealth in group communications.

Frequency changes stir new perceptions A Pleiadian Message

by Christine Day Beloved ones we greet you. We bring news of many dynamic changes taking place on your planet in the last weeks of December and in the first few weeks of your New Year. During this time, a series of dimensional expansions will flow through many of the energetic gridlines that have been anchored on your planet. These gridlines have played a limited role until this time and now they will fulfill their major role for the planet. These activations will create a strong frequency change that will shift the vibrational alignment of consciousness for those of you who are ready. This frequency change will open up many of you to new understandings, new perceptions of yourself. We would liken it to a remembering process, bringing to you a total shift of your vision. You have been kept in the limited experience of the 3rd dimension through a series of veils in place. This has created misperceptions that have held you in a place of separation. These misperceptions have blocked your access to the deeper understandings and Truth aligned to the 5th/6th/7th dimension realms, that you are naturally a part. With this huge frequency change moving with the expanded energy of the New Year, a sacred birthing is about to take place within those of you who are ready. We witness each one of you as you continue forward, taking your next step on your individual journey. This coming expansion is designed to support your next step towards your realignment towards home, to a next phase of your enlightenment. Many of you are ready for this unveiling of your self. Frequency changes

To move forward, to open into these frequency changes, it is essential that you continue your letting go process. To allow a falling away of your armoring, of all the illusion that is no longer needed so you can step forward within a new reality. This will take courage on your part, courage to change the way you are doing things in your life from the ego mind perspective. It is the time to begin to witness your self playing out a role, and then choosing to do things differently. You will begin to move out of the separating element and begin choosing acceptance of yourself and your situation: acceptance of your role in each situation; acceptance of your own creation, and owning your experience, which moves you out of victim mode. Acceptance of your creation shifts the sabotaging cycle in your life, and 22  www.edgemagazine.net

you begin to align to the sacredness of the moment. This is where you begin to receive that Truth and clarity of your life and your next steps that need to be taken. Begin to make changes that support you in the moment. This letting go process requires commitment by you, a conscious choice effort on your part to move into a new level of trust, and a commitment to change what no longer serves you. To let go of that which is holding you back. To witness yourself and begin to understand how your lifetimes of old belief patterns, habits of listening to your ego mind’s comments and directives keeps you in a self-sabotaging pattern. Witness how you are responding to the fear induced by your ego mind and how it is limiting you in your life, how it limits your joy. This fear keeps you in a state of inertia and wanting and separates you automatically from the moment. Within the moment is your intuition, the state of just Being, your connection to Truth. Let go and feel the shifts within you as they expand your sacred connections to your pure source higher self. As you let go and just witness your moment, you can form a working alliance with your pure source energy of your higher self; this is your sacred time to unfold. Role is changing

Our role as Pleiadians is changing here on your planet. At this time our focus is being placed on your individual requirements. We are directed as part of the Universal team to begin to work and support you as human beings in the energetic adjustments necessary within your energetic field as you choose to evolve. As you move into a conscious choice of “letting go,” there is a change within your crystalline structure, a rapid transformation creating an electrical evolution within your physical and energetic systems. This new electrical component that will birth within your system will support your rapid realignment, which will move and align within you as the shifting dimensional settings on your planet take place. This change within the dimensional settings will allow each one of you to begin a rapid acclimatization of consciousness that will open you and align you to an extensive multidimensional sense of vision and Truth. Another aspect of our role right now is to support you through these energetic changes and the multi-dimensional metamorphosis that you will move through as you begin to consciously take this next step forward. This is your next transitional phase — to bridge the gap between your self and

the rest of the universal community. This evolving phase

It is your time to begin this evolving phase of returning home consciously and, at the same time, remaining here on the earth plane, expanding your transformational experiences of your human process. This is the time to let go and be all that you can be at this time. It is your time to let go of the past and to know that all is in hand, to simply let go and know that the higher aspect of your self is supporting you in your transitional phase and there is nothing you have to try and do, try and be. This is your time to witness and breathe and allow this sacred unfolding to take place within you. There have been a series of energetic templates that have been activated on your Earth plane for lifetimes. These templates have kept you in a separated state, giving you a complete, comprehensive study in being human, of playing a pivotal role within humanity on this planet. Having the direct experience of separation, and living with the multitude of third dimensional illusions, you have been given the chance to have the full human experience, as you chose for yourself. With this change of frequency taking place in December, these energetic templates that have been in place for lifetimes on your planet will be replaced. These new templates will carry a new frequency, an essence of light that will reflect the potential of this change of consciousness. There is a pure, loving aspect being held within these new templates that are designed to support each one of you by transmitting and activating this next-step birthing process within you. A transformational level of pure life force energy will be flowing towards you from these new templates. This flow is designed to realign you and move you strongly, almost propelling you into the higher realms, bringing you to that higher pure source aspect of Self. A joyous time

This is a joyous time for each one of you. We are joyously playing our role in witnessing those of you who choose this reconnection to Self, to allow this movement within you. Each one of you continues to have choices, free will choices to stay where you are right now, living out your limitation, or to move on in your incarnation to something more vibrant, more authentic for your self. Through the transforming energies of these templates, we need to remind you to take time to be still within your self. It is essential to bring your awareness back to your self, back to your home space that is

to be found within your heart connection. There is liberation and freedom to be found away from the illusion of struggle, from your fear and your perceived limitations as you move back to your heart space. Stop trying to work things out with your limited ego mind. Know that all is well and all will be revealed to you at the perfect moment. Come home to yourself, be still and witness the illusion that your life reflects through the misperceptions of your ego mind. Be still and breathe and let go, and allow a natural unfolding within each moment to take place. Within the stillness of your heart, the misperceptions melt away and they are replaced by a sense of clarity and peaceful rest. You have a deep need of this restful place within your heart. Many of you are exhausted from the human dynamic within you of trying to get it right, trying to work everything out, to understand and to be understood. Now is the time for you to stop and simply BE. We hold you with love and witness you. Be still within

We bring the news of the change that is here for each one of you at this time. We witness you in each transformational step. We call to you to take the time to be still within your self, to bring your awareness to your home space that is your heart. There is liberation and freedom to be found away from the illusion of struggle, from your fear and your perceived limitations within your heart. Stop trying to work things out with your limited ego mind, know that all is well and all will be revealed to you at the perfect moment. Come home to yourself, be still and witness the illusion that your life reflects through the misperceptions of your ego mind. Be still, breathe and let go. This will allow you to move into a natural unfolding within each moment to take place. Within the stillness of the moment in your heart, the misperceptions melt away and they are replaced by a sense of clarity and peaceful rest. You have been waiting for this restful place. Below is a process that will support you in participating with these new alignments of consciousness and to the frequencies from the new templates that will activate later this month. You can begin to work with this process by the 2nd week of December. Know that this process can be opened into at any

time after the 2nd week of December for you to fully utilize what is part of our destiny. ALIGNING TO THE TEMPLATES AND NEW FREQUENCY OF CONSCIOUSNESS:

1. Bring your palms of your hands together, like a prayer position, at your heart center. Bring your awareness into where your palms meet and take a conscious breath into the connection of your palms at your heart. Now feel the connection grow as you bring your awareness deeper to that place, and take another breath. 2. When you feel that connection, bring your palms of your hands slowly apart, your palms stay facing each other. Now bring your awareness into the space that is being created between both hands. There is an opening — bring your awareness and breath into the space, and let go. Feel yourself being moved into the space and just let go. Note: Remember this is a doorway that you can enter — it is unlimited in possibilities, in potential. 3. Now bring the sound into the space, EE…SARTAH. Use the sound three times. 4. Open to the ripples created in the space by the sound. You are being aligned to this new energy of the template and vibration of consciousness. Feel how the ripples are moving you through into a frequency of light. 5. Now bring the sound into the space where you find your self, EE… SARTAH. Use the sound three times. 6. Feel another level of alignment to the Template consciousness, just let go. 7. It’s at this point when you begin to feel a completion within you for now. Know that you need to open into this experience at least three times a week to support your next steps of alignment to evolve through your system. You can call forward the Pleiadians to support you in your unfolding of transformation. We hold you with love and witness you. Words of Wisdom by Nadine Penny Open your heart to someone alone this December and put the sparkle into their holiday season and your own! Reaching out to others (especially to the elderly, of whom 28 percent live alone without regular contact with others, according to the Administration on Aging) is a gift of hope that uplifts, inspires and puts the jolly into the holidays. So invite an elderly neighbor in for Hanukkah cake and tea, make a Christmas call to an aging relative you wouldn’t normally see and drink that festive eggnog with a friend from another country. Know, that your act of kindness honors the sacred message of the holy season: Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All! a Nadine Penny attained her M.A. from the University of Denver in Counseling Psychology. Nadine lives in Minnetonka where she works as a medium, life issues reader and Reiki master. Contact her by email at nadine.penny@gmail.com and visit www.nadinepenny.com. Copyright © 2015.
