by Tim Miejan I’ve been asked many times during my life if I grew up in a military family. No, but I’ve moved with my family and by myself to at least 20 different homes. I attended 11 schools from kindergarten to college. Just in the last five years I’ve moved twice. This month will be the third. Last Christmas it was hard making the drive back to the Twin Cities after visiting my family in St. Joseph, Mo., about 50 miles north of Kansas City. It seemed like I didn’t have enough time with my loved ones. Even though leaving them was not something new — my wife and I have been trekking back and forth from the Twin Cities to Missouri for the past 20 years — it was particularly hard saying goodbye, particularly to my younger sister Shawn. Shawn, who is developmentally disabled and lives in a group home, visits my mom every other weekend, but I only see her three or four times a year. She is near and dear to my heart, and the opportunity to see her twice a month — or more often if I drive up to see her — elicits tears of joy. And so, after the drive back north from our Christmas trip last year, we made a decision to switch things up, to move to Missouri and make periodic trips back to the Cities — so I can take part in business meetings in person and my wife can maintain her Reiki practice connections. My business partner, Cathy, will continue to oversee The Edge from her Anoka-area office. Fortunately, I can successfully steer The Edge’s production from afar, needing only a phone, computer and an internet connection to make the magic happen. So when I get settled this month in our duplex — as close as I could possibly be to family, adjoining my mom and step-father’s house — I will be back at work putting together this publication’s 271st edition for August. “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” — Walt Disney Back in the fall of 1995, when I interviewed for the position of managing editor of The Edge, I shared with Gary Beckman the idea of expanding the publication to Kansas City, and the following July, 6 www.edgemagazine.net
we launched the Kansas City edition. While the project only lasted a couple of years, the idea has never left my mind. What I plan to create soon is an expansion of The Edge’s impact on people’s lives by bridging the Upper Midwest with the Heartland. I envision special pages on our website that will offer networking and other bridgebuilding opportunities for holistic and spiritual communities in Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas. Our current geographic footprint, based in the Twin Cities, will not be ignored, as there is much more we can offer to our friends in Wisconsin, and North and South Dakota, not to mention outstate Minnesota. Our opportunities are infinite. It’s our privilege, as caretakers of this publication, to continue serving those who find value in what we offer. The essence of sunlight supports our liberation A Pleiadian Message
by Christine Day Beloved ones, we greet you. We bring forward exciting news of this next phase of this New Dawning era. In late June 2015, there was a completion with this series of shattering of veils. This has set into motion an incredible transformational opportunity for all of you who are awake. This was an end of one phase on your planet and the beginning of a new sacred way. Bringing you forward to a “next step” for all humanity on your planet. There has been a complete multidimensional shift in the magnetic energetic setting around the earth plane. This shift makes these energetic changes possible now. This change opens the dimensional veils, bringing an opportunity of renewal to your spiritual, emotional and physical body. It has been a long journey for each one of you. You have been held and confined by this 3rd dimensional illusion in this lifetime, and indeed for many lifetimes on your planet. This powerful cloak of 3rd dimensional illusion has kept you in a place of struggle, confusion and a belief in lack. Holding you in a seemingly powerless position. This magnetic shift has set off a new potential for you to awaken, a new potential in which you can birth yourself. We would liken it to a light womb being birthed around your planet, making it possible for each one of you to self-birth consciously. This light womb is a vehicle in which to create a metamorphic change within your physical and energetic bodies. Accompanying this magnetic shift is an unprecedented transformational change within the light rays of the sun, enabling the rays of the sun to carry a new light frequency. These light rays act as a mirror creating a
series of light reflections throughout the earth plane. As you align through these light reflections, you experience a dimensional shift within your consciousness, which aligns you beyond the 3rd dimensional illusion, beyond the constraints of this earth plane. The sun holds the reflected light of all that you are in reality. Within this frequency of light is carried your full capability to recreate your own abundance on all levels. You are being asked at this time to bring back your creation light element that is reflected from the sun into all aspects of your world. Part of the plan as a human being is for you to move into this process of self-birthing through your own conscious choice action of free will. This process involves you aligning directly with this higher source frequency that is now contained within the sun’s light. This light source holds a mirror up to you, containing multi-dimensional reflections of the pure source light of your higher self. This new frequency
The rising of the sun each morning over your horizon carries this new frequency of light, and this frequency is held within each individual ray of light. As these rays of light penetrate your planet there are a series of multi-dimensional reflections created by these rays. The energy of renewal from the light of the sun is at its fullest potential at sunrise and sunset. This is the time where the veils are most thin, where the magic is most potent for you. As you witness the sun at these times, it is important to open up to what we call the Conscious breath. The breath itself is in and out of the mouth, like a deep sigh. As you take a deep breath in, you need to open
to the reflected light of the sun, drawing it forth within you. You can do this by bringing your awareness towards the sun’s reflected light and take that conscious breath in the mouth, and as you breathe out of the mouth there is a natural “letting go” process. The reflected light that you consciously take in creates a letting go process within you. The essence of the sunlight carries the elements that you have been waiting for. As you breathe in with the conscious breath, the frequency of light held in the sunlight rays can open up through the cells of your body, creating rejuvenation and a renewal within each cell. Your cell receives an imprint of light. This imprint carries a frequency that dislodges the denser energy of the 3rd dimensional illusion held within the cell. Your body can simply release old patterns of stored anger, fear, anxiety, guilt, shame and sadness, for example. These denser issues will simply leave your body and energetic field, creating a huge transformation and liberation within you. This is a natural outcome of the action of receiving light, because the density cannot continue to be sustained in your body as you take in these higher frequencies that are held within this reflected light. These reflections held within the light rays of the sun can be found and utilized through the sunlight flowing through the trees, the sunlight reflected on the lake, the sunlight reflected on a single drop of dew on a leaf or flower and even the rays of light coming through a window into your home! Open up consciously, look around and witness how this reflected light is everywhere and all around you in so many varied shades, within so many different elements. You can easily reach out to the light with your consciousness, touch the light gently with your awareness, and then take a Conscious breath and receive this light into your cells, into your very being. The manifestation of this frequency of light held within the sun’s rays was always destined to anchor on your planet at this time. Your timing is perfect and this is your time to recollect your sacred design. Know that we are here to assist you as you move through your re-alignment process. Align to the rays
To begin your self-birthing process, you need to align to the rays of light, and “let go” as this reflected light opens up a process for your own light frequency to imbed within the cells of your body. Through this interaction, it is important that you open up to consciously receive as your DNA strands are re-positioned, creating changes to your energetic makeup. Your cells need to begin this process of metamorphosis, and this is achieved through taking in the frequency of this light that the sun’s rays can now provide to you. This action of metamorphosis that
takes place within your cells will allow you to begin to receive a nutritional factor that is also being provided through the sun’s rays and the reflected light from the sun. This nutritional aspect of the energy you will receive has been designed to support your new energetic nutritional needs, as well as protecting your system from some of the harmful effects that are to be found in the foods that are on your planet. Know that the food being made available to you on this planet is being broken down nutritionally. There is a systematic undermining process taking place within your society and this is severely affecting your energetic system. Your physical systems, as well as your whole nervous system, are being compromised. All your senses are being adversely affected through this negative food system that has been set in place by certain human beings on your planet for control. You can now set in motion another process to counteract what is taking place on your planet by working with this reflected light from the source of the sun’s rays. Now it is your time to liberate your self from another level of these aspects of illusion and be in control of your own destiny! Your next step
You need this support now, for your next step. You need the nutritional support to allow your systems to fully transform electrically and to support your energetic bodies, physical systems and your expanding light consciousness. Your physical bodies have been deeply impacted by living with the illusion on this earth plane, and your emotional body also carries aspects of the density of this illusion. Each cell of your body holds the frequency of this illusion and now this illusion can be released from your system. Your body is ready for this. The programming of struggle, existing continually in survival mode and living in this illusion of powerlessness can be over now. As the veils on your planet continue to shatter, there will be an ongoing liberation frequency birthing throughout your earth plane from the rising frequency of reflected light. There is going to be a creation energy filtered through the rays of this light, activating your natural ability to align further to this creation through the sun’s frequency rays. Each one of your cells within your body and energetic field will be infused through these reflections, bringing forth many opportunities for each one of you to access a deeper understanding of what is held within Truth. This Truth carries a frequency of light that further adds to this renewal within you. These reflections from the rays of the sun herald forward a message of truth and hope for each one of you, to not only witness, but to become a part of this living message. If
you are willing, through a conscious choice decision, you can join and begin to flow with these rays of truth. You can play your part now by just accepting the light that you feel, see and sense in the moment. As you align through the sun’s rays consciously, you begin to align to a deeper and more profound aspect of your self. You, through your conscious choice action of working within these reflections, are enabled through a “knowing.” This knowing naturally becomes manifest through you. A powerful catalyst
This wave of renewal begins to permeate to every aspect of your being. You then become a powerful catalyst for all humanity as you naturally carry the frequency of this new wave of conscious alignment within you. You will be holding these reflections of light and transmitting them outwards through the planet to all humanity. As you move forward on this journey of self-renewal, you will begin a rejuvenation process within the cells of your body. You will begin to recognize your Spirit. You will begin to remember the aspect of love that truly exists, the love that you are. The jadedness that has come from living within this illusion on this earth plane will begin to dissolve as you once again turn back towards the instinctive joy of being alive within the universe. You can regain your spirit of spontaneity and realign to your own God creation elements of which you are a part. You will begin to recognize the very elements from which you were originally formed, the God consciousness. It is time to return to this love element frequency and become all of this once more. You can begin right now, just from the simple step of opening to the reflected light of the sun that exists around you right in this moment of time. As these old barriers leave your body, this light, your light, is mirrored through the sun’s rays that naturally realign you beyond the illusion and limitation of this 3rd dimensional dynamic, moving you back to the Truth of your existence for this time. This is your next step, for you to begin to emerge like a butterfly, from the cocoon into the light, flying free into the wind. This has always been the time for Self Liberation. An Edge Conversation with teacher Bob Fickes on Infinite Space First of a three-part series by Tim Miejan Please read the uncut version of this interview at www.Edgemagazine.net Meditation — the act of silencing the mind and basking in the serenity that lies deeply within each of us — is not new, but many of the most entrepreneurial and creative among us cite meditation as a vital component to their success. The late Apple founder Steve Jobs practiced Zen meditation to reduce stress, calm the mind and enhance creativity. Film director David Lynch and celebrity CEO and actress Oprah Winfrey are outspoken proponents of Transcendental Meditation (TM). Bob Fickes, who has begun his fifth decade as a lecturer and teacher of meditation, says friends from his early days of practicing TM — including bestselling authors Dr. John Gray (Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus), and Dr. Barbara DeAngelis (How to Make Love All the Time) — “are at the top of their fields, wherever they are in the world and whatever they’re doing.” Fickes teaches Fulfillment meditation and is the author of many CDs, DVDs and books, including the recent bestseller, Quantum Enlightenment. always felt that there was something more to life and I also had experiences of seeing beings that nobody else saw — and I would communicate with them without realizing that they were not in the body. As my life progressed, I realized that most of all I just wanted to find God and find out the real reason of life. When I was 12, my Lutheran minister said, “Do you want to be a minister?” I said, “No, I don’t really want to be a minister, but I will be doing something like that.” I had no idea what it was. When I was about 19 I began a very strong quest to find the meaning of life, this thing called God and whatever consciousness was. By the age of 22, I started meditation with TM.
What originally led you to meditation? BF: I was exploring in those days. I was a
hippie, and so I explored a lot through recreational chemicals. That opened my consciousness to realize there is something more to life, and gradually I started being
drawn more towards the Eastern philosophy. I read a lot of Western philosophers and never was quite satisfied with the conclusions. It’s like they got up to the Truth and then something was missing. One day I picked up a book by Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching, and when I started reading it I remember I was sitting under a tree at the university. As I was reading, all of a sudden my consciousness just transformed and I felt like I had insight. From that point on, I started to do my own style of meditation and gradually the intensity of my desire to find enlightenment grew. I told my school faculty advisor that I wanted to go to India to become a yogi, and he said, “Did you tell your parents about that?” And I said, “No.” He said, “Well, I think you should get on the phone right now and tell them.” So, I called home and I said, “I’m planning to go to India to become a yogi.” And they jumped in their car in Pennsylvania and drove all the way up to Northern New Hampshire where I was at the university and took me home. (Laughs). They were very afraid of my future. That would be the normal reaction. BF: My mom had seen Maharishi on TV
and she said, “Well, rather than going to India, why don’t you just start meditation. I’ll pay for it.” And I thought, “Well, this guy is too commercial for my taste. He can’t really know the Truth.” And then I saw his interview and thought, “Well, the guy has something. I can at least start there.” So I started TM in New York City in 1968 on my birthday, and I still felt, “Well, I’ll just do this until I can save up enough money to go to India. This is good, but it’s not really what I was looking for.” Two years later, I had a chance to meet Maharishi and it was miraculous. As soon as I saw him step out of the car, I couldn’t move. There were 1,500 people there waiting for a lecture and all of them were greeting Maharishi outside. We were told, “Get out of the way so Maharishi can get into the lecture hall!” I couldn’t move. And Maharishi walked up to me. It was very common in those days to give Maharishi a flower, so I was standing there with my carnation. As he touched my hand to grab the flower, I went into white light for about 10 minutes. The next thing I knew, everybody was inside and he had started the lecture. I had no idea what had happened. That was the start. I realized that this was the path that I was on — and I got my enlightenment not long after that, in December 1970.
What inspired you to become a teacher of meditation? Was it just a continuation of the journey you were on? BF: Yes, it was just a continu-
ation of the journey I was on. TM had offered me the chance to become a teacher of meditation, so I thought, “This is great.” The course was to be held in India and I thought that would fulfill my desire to get to India. As it turned out, at the last minute Maharishi changed his plan and gave the first course in Estes Park, Colo., in November and December of 1970. I was in that first course. After that I began teaching mostly in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, and then I gradually started traveling and teaching in many different places. How do you define meditation — and has that definition changed over the years? BF: No, my definition really has
stayed pretty much the same, although I have refined how I explain it. Now I think of meditation as an inward journey, an exploration of the inner universe. It’s not just closing the eyes, it’s more tuning in, like transforming the mind into a microscope that can explore deeper levels of consciousness — more quiet, more silent, levels that are also more powerful — until we get to what in Japanese is called Ku, Infinite Space. In that place of Infinite Space, we arrive at the Source of all consciousness. Meditation takes on a journey inside to realize we are more than just a wave on the surface as an individual personality, but we are, in fact, an ocean of consciousness moving through that wave.
What separates the different forms of meditation from what you describe as Real Meditation? BF: The best way to describe
that is to say that most states of meditation take you inside, layer by layer. They give you a different sequence of instructions or a guided meditation to take your attention deeper. Eventually, after years of practice, you arrive at Source — and
in most cases people say at that time you get your enlightenment, that you’re awakening to your full realization of what life is and what consciousness is. But my experience is that you can go directly down to the bottom of the ocean if you have the right technique to bypass all those other layers — and then from that inner Source of consciousness you begin to explore. Basically, you find the Observer inside. What I teach is to go directly to Ku, directly to that ocean of consciousness, and let it unfold by itself in a daily way. Interestingly, over all the years that I have been teaching I’ve had many people who have done other forms of meditation and they all come out of the meditation saying, “This is what I’ve been waiting for!” It’s very rewarding to hear that. My whole heart just jumps when they say that. I tell them, “Thank you. I’m just teaching this. I don’t really know whether it is the greatest or not. It seems to be the greatest that I have found, but to hear you say that after having done other forms of meditation it really makes me feel good that I could give you that gift.” For those who haven’t been in Infinite Space, the Ku, can you describe what the experience is like for you in exploring that? BF: In the beginning, pure
consciousness has no object of perception. It’s when we have gone beyond anything that the mind can identify or focus on. It’s not like just closing the eyes and going into silence. It’s going into a state that’s fully alert, but the consciousness is quietly infinite. When we first experience it in meditation, it’s usually, “What happened? Where’d I go?” And we look at the clock and 10 minutes have passed and we had no idea where we were. Was I asleep? Well, if I was asleep I’d be coming out of the meditation like, “Oh, I’m sleepy, what happened?” But in this case, it’s more like a sudden shock. “Where’d I go?” There is just the space and time. The mind has not focused on something, so it is Meditation on page 13

Nutrition, eggs and the lives of chickens Sound Bites
by Julie McMahon Have you ever been at the grocery store and wondered which eggs to buy? Navigating the egg section, with all of the various labels, can be downright confusing! If you love eggs, then you should know which ones are the most nutritious. The nutritive value will vary greatly depending upon what the chicken was fed and how it was raised! Words like “Natural” and “Farm Fresh” sound great, but they really don’t tell us anything. Your conventional eggs are from chickens who spend their lives in cramped henhouses or cages and never see the light of day. They are fed a grain-based diet with additives to make them produce, and they likely have been treated with antibiotics and hormones. The following are other terms related to eggs: Cage Free — Sounds good, but this really just means that the chickens are not in a cage, but they could be in one giant, overfilled hen house. Free Range — The chickens have some access to the outdoors and this can vary greatly. It could be just one tiny door on the chicken coop or they may be getting lots of time outside. There are no guidelines as to how much time they must be outside to get this rating. Pastured — Chickens were allowed to roam free and eat plants and insects (their natural food) and may also have been fed some commercial feed. These eggs are higher in Vitamins A, E and Omega 3s and are lower in saturated fat and cholesterol. Omega 3 Enriched Eggs — These chickens have had an Omega 3 source, such as flax seed added to their diet. These eggs have five times the Omega 3 content of conventional eggs. Organic — These chickens were not treated with antibiotics or hormones and received organic feed. So in order of preference, I favor Pastured, Organic, Omega 3, Free Range, Cage Free, and my last choice would be conventional eggs. Eggs

still alert, but it doesn’t remember where it was. After we have had that experience for a while, then it starts to become more clear and we feel like, “I’m watching myself meditate.” Or, “I’m watching myself walk down the street.” We’re more of an observer from silence as though looking into a movie. And that Observer is able to discern more of what’s going on? BF: Yes, exactly. The big problem in life is
that we are so focused on what we are doing that we forget who we are. It’s kind of like when you watch a movie for a period of time, you forget that you’re even watching the movie. You respond, “Watch out! Watch out!” We get totally absorbed in the movie. Our life is like that. We have gotten so absorbed in our movie of life that we forget who the Observer is and our participation in the movie. This is where I change my analogy to say that we’re the user of the computer. The computer is our mind. It’s been programmed. It’s got all this information inside. We’re so occupied in our computer that we think that the thoughts that we’re having are coming from ourselves. Do a simple exercise to step back from your mind and just observe — close your eyes and observe your thoughts — and within 10 or 15 minutes you’ll notice that, “Gosh, there’s a lot of thoughts there that I’m not trying to think. In fact, they’re kind of nonsense thoughts.” Where are these thought coming from? Well, they are generated by our computer. We’re not the computer. We’re the Observer and user of that computer. Once we know that we can start to reprogram the computer, put some files in the trash and upgrade the system, it improves the way the computer performs.
Does the use of mantras allow you to do some of that? BF: The use of mantras helps us to explore.
It is just like when we go someplace. We need to get in a taxi or our car, and the car takes us there. The mantra is like the car. It takes us deep into consciousness. Now, the real questions is, “What is a mantra?” Most people think it’s a word that you just repeat in meditation. That’s not really a complete Truth. That’s a partial Truth. The mantra is a word, but it represents a vibration of nuclear energy. Long ago when the atmosphere was clear and people’s lives were more clear and there was not so much stress, masters could sit in meditation and see those nuclear vibrations. They did not have scientific language to describe them, so when they saw vibrations, they described them as a mantra. When we see them as a life force, they might be described as a god or an angel. Their language can be translated into science, because the perception of the same reality is there. A mantra is a nuclear energy that is in perfect attunement with the whole universe. As we use a mantra, the mantra adjusts the vibration of our consciousness. It adjusts our mind, our body and our soul to be more in harmony with the way the Universe moves — and in that way, consciousness starts to grow and explore. You teach a variety of mantras. Can you mention some of them and why you might use more than one mantra? BF: It’s possible to get your enlightenment
— get everything that you need — from just one mantra, but it takes a while. So, what I do every now and then is give it a boost, and recharge the battery, so to speak. I have discovered a variety of mantras, and there Meditation

I love the farmer’s markets where you can have a conversation with the farmer to know how the chickens were fed and what their living conditions are like. Here’s a lovely way to use those eggs for a breakfast or brunch for 6:
Mushroom & Spinach Frittata Ingredients 2 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 10-ounce container of pre-sliced mushrooms Himalayan salt & freshly ground pepper 1 to 2 garlic cloves (to taste), minced 1 6-ounce bag baby spinach, rinsed 8 eggs 1/4 cup grated Parmesan 2 T milk Directions 1. Select a heavy 10- or 12-inch skillet that can go from stovetop to oven. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat, add mushrooms. Cook, stirring often, for about 3-5 minutes. Add garlic, stir for another minute. Add spinach, stir until wilted. Turn up heat and let any excess liquid evaporate from the pan. Remove from heat. 2. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Stir in salt, pepper, milk, mushroom/spinach mixture and parmesan. Heat remaining olive oil over medium-high heat in skillet. Pour in egg mixture and swirl the pan to distribute eggs and filling evenly over the surface. Tilt pan slightly with one hand while lifting up the edges of the frittata with a rubber spatula, to let the eggs run underneath during the first few minutes of cooking. Once a few layers of egg have cooked, turn the heat down to low, cover and cook 10 minutes. From time to time remove the lid and loosen the bottom of the omelet with a spatula, tilting the pan, so that the bottom is golden and doesn’t burn. The eggs should be just about set though there will be a layer on the top that is not. 3. Heat broiler. Uncover the pan and place under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, just until the top sets, and doesn’t burn. Remove from heat, shake the pan to make sure the frittata isn’t sticking and allow it to cool for at least 5 minutes. It can be a little runny in the middle if you like it that way. Loosen the edges with a spatula. Carefully slide from the pan onto a large round platter. Cut into wedges. Serve hot, warm, room temperature, or cold. Five reasons forgiveness will make you happy by Joseph Drumheller You can never be happy if you cannot forgive. The truth is if you can’t forgive, somewhere inside, you will always be a victim to your own anger, hurt or fear. No one better learned the art of forgiveness than a client of mine, named Thea. One morning, her doorbell rang and she was surprised to find a representative from her mortgage company. He said, “Your house is being foreclosed, you have four days to move out.” She was shellshocked. She later learned that her husband had been hiding foreclosure statements for the past four months. He’d also had been pretending to go to work for almost a year, after he’d been fired. If that wasn’t enough, he hadn’t paid taxes for the past seven years and had falsified tax documents — criminal fraud. Their marriage ended within hours. For the next two years, Thea had to deal with the emotional fallout of divorce, major deception, unforgiving bank executives, and the ruthlessness of the IRS. There was more than one day she didn’t want to live. After a year of putting out one fire after another, she finally got around to dealing with the rage and devastation that consumed her. That’s when she came to see me for energy healing. She needed to begin the process of forgiveness. However, for Thea, forgiveness wasn’t what she thought. It’s not exactly like when the priest forgives the confessor. Genuine forgiveness is something completely different. It’s more like a disconnection of energy. The best way to release the underlying emotions, associated with the need to forgive, is in deep states of relaxation or meditation. It’s where the magic of healing lives. Once you’re in deep mediation, difficult emotions can be released with a little practice. That’s where the world of relaxation evolves into mastery. As simple and ludicrous as this may sound, when you’re deeply relaxed, you simply let it go. However, emotional release is a learned skill and almost the opposite of other skills we learn in life. It’s the art of deeply doing nothing. By focusing on the emotion and surrendering to the experience, it will let go. That’s because when emotions are fully experienced, they dissipate and dissolve. Most people will feel them lift off and out of their body. If you want to see if this method actually works, try a simple exercise. Just think of the person you’re trying to forgive. If
you don’t feel any pain, horror or anger, chances are that you’re done. Did it work for Thea? You bet. However, it wasn’t easy. But at age 50, she started her life over by reaching down and pulling up her bootstraps. She also discovered her inner executive and went on to a very successful career; something she would never have done if her life hadn’t fallen apart. By working with Thea, I was fortunate to witness the Top Five Reasons Forgiveness Will Make You Happy. Practicing forgiveness will: Heal unresolved emotions. That includes the emotional residue left over from why you need to forgive someone. Plus, you will be free from a chronic, underlying level of stress you probably didn’t know you had. End repeating patterns of pain. Pain is born to be experienced. When it is, it will dissipate. When it isn’t, it will create repeating scenarios to experience that pain, until it finally gets its due attention and is set free. Forgiveness will release those painful emotions. When that happens, the repeating patterns will stop. Disconnect you from a negative rela tionship. When forgiveness is complete you will no longer be energetically or emotionally attached to the perpetrator. That means the energy that was tied up in that relationship is now free to use for something far better. Create Freedom. Forgiveness is freedom. When emotions are healed, repeating patterns are ended, and you’re disconnected from a negative relationship, you will experience a sense of emotional freedom from the past you never knew was possible. Solidify Empowerment. Forgiveness doesn’t happen without effort, intention and focus. When you take the necessary steps and take charge of your own emotional situation, it will create an unshakable sense of personal dignity. is a sequence in using them. One builds up a certain experience and the next adds to that experience and expands your awareness. Each mantra affects our nervous system and our perception differently. As we use different mantras, it opens new avenues of perception. The techniques I have created are what I call the Core of Life Program. These are the four core elements that we need for our daily living: The first, and most impor tant, is the Heart. Masters always have said that the heart is the doorway to God. So, that’s our starting place. We start with the heart, open our Self to the inner Universe, and start to become more present in our life, more self-motivated, more confident. We start to explore how much consciousness we have and how we can use that in our daily life. After maybe three to six months, we get the next mantra, which I call Prosperity. Prosperity is not how much money we have in the bank. It’s how much the Universe smiles at us. We have a desire, the Universe smiles, then things happen. As the Heart mantra takes us inside, Prosperity starts to make the Universe more in harmony with us and we start to open to things outside of us and find that the Universe is smiling. The next step after Prosperity is Wisdom. I call Wisdom knowledge and love combined. Knowledge without love can be blind and reckless. Love without knowledge can also be blind and reckless. True wisdom is when we have both knowledge and love. We can see what we’re doing and can have a better life. This is the union of the mind and the heart. The Wisdom mantra helps us to unify our mind and our heart, so there is no conflict. All confusion comes from a dialogue between heart and mind. Heart wants one thing and the mind says, “I can’t.” When we have the Wisdom mantra, these things start to balance out and we have a better direction, more confidence in our life, and get less confusion. The fourth step is Supreme Unity, where we unite with
everything in the Universe. This is a time when we look at our life and realize, “Oh, that’s why I did that. My life is really perfect. Everything that I did in my life, even those traumatic events, have made me take the path that I’m on.” The whole life gets unified and comes together and, “Ah, yeah. I never made any mistakes.” So, that’s the final step. So this is all used as a process to progress deeper into the Infinite Space? BF: Yes, exactly. Deeper into our
own Infinite Space, our own consciousness. Another interesting thing that I like to tell people is that we think of space as this empty reality, but, in fact, space is nothing but consciousnessness. Everything in this Universe is conscious, and our individual lives are just waves of that consciousness. If we look at it from that perspective, God moves through everyone all the time, but we’re not aware of it. Ego mind wants to control our life, wants to focus and never notices the God within.

How can you feel empowered while surrendering to change? Carroll has shared the message of Kryon for 25 years with people around the globe, and he is the author of 16 books in 24 languages. Well known in the metaphysical realm, the Kryon books channeled by Carroll have made the top seller’s list of most New Age distributors within months of release. The following is our recent conversation with Lee Carroll. For those who have not been to a Kryon event, what can people coming to the Minneapolis event in August expect to experience? Lee Carroll: What people can expect is two
full days, and you can get a package if you want both of them or you can attend either one. The first day is me talking about what Kryon has said specifically in the last two or three years — the New Normal and all the paradigms that he speaks about, including

often prophetic and very true. So that’s what I do and that’s who Kryon is. It’s a funny name, especially for an angel, but that is who Kryon is and continues to be with me in the same way through all of these years without a change of energy and without conflict. Do you remember what Kryon’s initial message was when he came to you in 1989? LC: Remember it?! I teach it! It was the
smallest little book and it is still in print and still very popular. Right out of the box he said, “There will be no Armageddon. There is a new energy coming. You have turned the corner. All the prophesies of doom that you have heard are going to fall on the floor and not be accurate. Stand by for new energy.” That was the message.

So, it’s going to be two days of lots of different kinds of energies and channeling both days. Let’s start by informing those who are unfamiliar: who is Kryon? LC: Kryon is an angelic — I would say
benevolent — source energy. If you believe in channeling, then you will nod your head and say, let’s continue. If you don’t, there is nothing I can say that will convince you that this is right. Let me just say that 85 percent of this planet believes in the afterlife and believes in God. There are so many ways of worshipping, but we all realize there is a Creator — and I believe that this Creator talks to us. In my case, for 25 years I have had an active angelic being talking to me and giving me nothing but benevolent, wonderful messages that are loving and
Now, this may be very difficult to summarize in a paragraph, but for those who have not followed the messages of Kryon, can you summarize the substance of what Kryon has shared with humanity since coming through you and into our consciousness? LC: Kyron is here because we have turned
a corner. The ancient prophesies — not the ones in Scripture — have echoed this almost to the very point. They said that if we could go past 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar, then we would have a new energy on the Earth and a new consciousness. We had the propensity to kill ourselves, and we have had that propensity for some time — and that’s what has finished. That’s the Armageddon, that’s the Rapture, that’s all of the Holocaust that we thought was coming in the year 2000 or 2012. Kryon said we have passed it. The ancients were right, and everything that Kryon talks about now is what to do next. Based on what he said recently, what is recommended for us to do in our daily lives in response to the changes taking place now? LC: I think the best thing that I can tell
Lightworkers, old souls, the kind of people who would listen to me or read your articles, is the following: Accept the fact that we are graduating to a new energy where everything is changed. That means everything. It means how we work with our people in our lives if you are a reader, if you’re a healer, if you’re an author; all these things are slightly changing. How we speak starts to change. How we grow starts to change. How we evolve starts to change, and so this is uncomfortable. Kryon has called it a recalibrating time, so there are health issues, only because we are uncomfortable with the change and
we think we are sick. There are pains. We are uncomfortable mentally because things are moving and shifting in ways we never thought they would move or shift. People really are into stability, but now unchanging things are being stirred up because the paradigm of living and the energy on this planet is changing. It is a time when we are starting to grow up. I will call it growing pains that are spiritual, if you want me to, and that sounds super simple, but almost everybody is feeling it. Now business is feeling it, politics is feeling it, the Earth is feeling it. I know you haven’t asked this, Tim, but Kryon says that the dark/light quotient — the balance of dark and light on this planet — is moving toward the light. That means the darkness is afraid and it is going to pull out all of the stops. It’s going to give you everything it can. It’s going to scare you to death. It’s going to be personal and it’s going to be local. That’s exactly what’s happening — and you’re seeing people and groups of people who want to kill everybody all of the time. That’s old energy. And now we’re starting to line up very clearly against things that have been the “same old, same old” for years, if you know what I mean. Briefly summarize what Kryon has said on a number of topics. Let me start with climate change. LC: The planet is warming up in the process
of getting colder. We are heading for a mini ice age. This has been echoed by many scientists around the globe. You are not seeing it as much in the United States, because there are political agendas — so we will build things and do things and spend money. But go to places like Russia and Germany, and they are all saying the same thing. Get ready for climatic change, which is getting colder. Kryon has said this now for over 10 years. The Earth is starting to refresh itself with a mini ice age. We have gone through it many times before. We can survive. Kryon is saying that oceans need to refresh themselves — for life. So, this is going to be born out later when we start to see the fish come back, the reefs come back. I know this is radical and it’s also controversial, but I can tell you that this is what Kryon has said. How about an expansion on how long we will live? LC: Kryon says our DNA is working at about
30 percent or 40 percent, but it is meant to work at 80 percent. Take a look at the masters of the planet — that’s why they can do things we cannot do, quite frankly. We are meant to live a long time. Kryon says one of the things that happens is that now, even in rejuvenation, we make a copy instead of going to the original stem cell. Higher consciousness is linked to a
higher percentage of DNA efficiency. That will create a body that works better with extended lives. We should live a long time based upon a rejuvenation that takes the stem cell blueprint instead of just making a copy. As a result, we’re seeing a shortening of our telomeres (caps at the end of each strand of DNA that protect our chromosomes, like the plastic tips at the end of shoelaces). Kryon has not told us how long we’re going to live, but some of the prophets that you read about in Scripture lived very long lives, and that was not a typo at all. That’s DNA working correctly. What does Kryon say about Lemurians, Pleiadians, and other beings in the universe? LC: Lemurians are the ones who lived on
Hawaii, called Lemuria or Mu. It’s where Kryon says we got our start. This is the creative source. This is the creation story. The Pleiades, he said, is where we came from. The Pleiadians are not God. They have an ascended planet and actually imprinted us with the energy and are reflected in our creation story of Adam and Eve. I’ve been receiving evidence of this all over the world, in places as far reaching as Easter Island and the middle of Australia, without prompting any of them. They all come up with statues and stories and writings that they say came from the Seven Sisters, the Pleiades. This is really amazing and it’s far bigger than I ever thought it was. Books like The Fingerprints of the Gods really show this connection. There is a commonality everywhere, all over the planet, with the same symbols and the same drawings — and all of that came from an original source, from the stars. I’m not a fan, necessarily, of the Ancient Aliens programs because they get ridiculous and are not provable. I don’t go that far out. This is as far as I’m going to go. My research shows that there is substance to this possibility. What does Kryon say about paying attention to conspiracies? LC: In about year 10, Kryon made a state-
ment: “When everybody can talk to everybody, there can be no more secrets.” That seemed to predict the internet. As much as our government wants to hold everything close to its vest, everything leaks. Even when they think they’ve got it together, somebody steps out and spills the beans. The New Normal says you will not have any secrets. You can’t have thousands of people keeping a total and complete secret until the end of their lives. They’re going to spill the beans. So, get logical. Use spiritual common sense. Yes, there are some conspiracies that will be shown to be accurate and true, but don’t hold on to the old ridiculous ones when it’s obviously not logical at all.
Didn’t Kryon also say something about how you’re just spinning your wheels and going nowhere if all you’re focused on is conspiracy? LC: Oh, yeah. And he said it’s a real good
way to sap your energy. There are people who spend all their lives spinning and spinning — and you haven’t helped one person. Kryon says, “Who have you helped?” He also goes so far as to say that in the old age, you were weird. People knew you were weird. They’d say, “Oh, there goes that New Ager. There’s a person who believes in past lives and weirdness, and chakras and they’re floating along.” They’ll cross the street when they see you coming. Kryon says, “And who have you helped today?” Stop offending people with your strangeness, because the Masters who walk this planet did not do that. He said it’s time to look at what they did. They were loving, benevolent and beautiful. They were odd, but they didn’t make you think they were odd. You had to decide that for yourself when you were with them. Our new instructions are to not only love thy neighbor, but get to know them, and not to be so strange and weird so that they will see God in you. Then, if they liked it, then they can ask, “What have you done and what makes your life so peaceful?” When they do, don’t give them a Kryon book. Tell them about your personal experience with your own Creator. These things are starting to become more practical and they are offending a lot of New Age people. This is unfortunate. I didn’t want to be in this position of changing anything that anybody does, truly. I just want to give information — and in the giving of information, often people are upset. They respond, “Well, listen, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What are you doing?” And Kryon is saying, “God is, but you’re not. You’re graduating and you’re changing.”
One of the amazing recent messages I’ve heard in listening to Kryon revealed something about the age of our souls. Can you share a little bit about that? LC: Kryon says we are eternal. Now, I think
that if you ask somebody how old is God, they would say, “eternal.” We don’t have a term in physics for this. Everything has a beginning. Everything converts to energy, and in our lives we have a paradigm of living in which everything grows old and dies. So we don’t have a word for it. Eternal is a circle. Our souls always were, Kryon says, just like God. They are a piece of the Creator. Therefore, our souls are linked to God, part of God/Source, and they always were. Therefore, our souls are ageless. They were here before the universe was created and universes before ours. Kryon says in our own galaxy that we are our own ancestors on Kryon

An interview with Carol Gurney on communicating with animals and people by Tim Miejan Please read the uncut version of this interview at www.Edgemagazine.net Carol Gurney is internationally respected as one of the foremost experts and a pioneer in the world of Animal Communication. Since 1986, she has traveled the globe teaching people how to connect with our animal companions and the first to offer a fully comprehensive training program in this ever-growing field. From the beginning, her focus has always been about the deeper gifts the animals bring to us. Through her work Carol helps people understand that, through their unconditional love, animals offer a direct reflection of those areas within ourselves that need nurturing. In 2008, Carol established The Gurney Institute of Animal Communication. This groundbreaking Institute is internationally recognized as a center of learning, devoted to the empowerment of individuals uncovering their innate ability to connect with animals from the heart and as a beacon of the highest level of training, professionalism and integrity in the industry. In 2012, Carol transformed The Institute into a non-profit Public Benefit Corporation to provide an even broader foundation for informing and educating all of society about the benefits of animal communication. The following is my conversation with Carol Gurney, on communicating with animals — and with each other. You will be presenting your introductory animal communication workshop in Minnesota in August. What can participants expect to experience during the two-day class? Carol Gurney: The first day they will learn
all about telepathy — how it’s possible, the different techniques — and then they will do a series of exercises to get them ready for the afternoon. The final exercise that they’ll do is a telepathic communication exercise with each other through the use of color. It is so helpful for them and confidence building, because they realize that they haven’t talked to their partner, but yet the partner can pick up information that they’re sending. In the afternoon, we’ll have two animals with us, probably horses, and we’ll sit as a group and ask the horses particular questions, like “Share with us your favorite activities,” and then we might ask about their dislikes or what their person looks like — specific questions that the students don’t know the answers to. That will be very validating for them and prove that they are

What distinguishes your approach to teaching and understanding animal communication from others? CG: I think I have a down-to-earth approach.

On day two, I’ll help them understand that we don’t really need to be with the animal, but we can connect with them from a distance. We can still ask those questions and get the answers. The students will exchange photos of their animals and ask questions like, “What does your home look like? What is your relationship like with the other cat in this family?” It’s a very confidence-building workshop, because they get the validation. If somebody is having a challenging time because maybe they’ve got some fear of, “Oh gosh, I think everybody can do this but me,” I’ll take that person and work with him or her individually so that they can make that connection. Because I found it so challenging myself when I first started, I’ve developed different exercises for people. In the beginning, because I had such a challenging time and did not believe it myself and really just didn’t trust it, I had to get like 10,538 validations to believe it myself. During that period of time, it enabled me to understand what everybody goes through. Within the workshop, I help the people individually if they’re struggling at all.
At the Institute, what we’re all about is integrity and authenticity. We’re teaching a language. It’s just like students coming to learn a foreign language. We tell our students that if you were going to try to learn to speak Italian, for example, after a two-day workshop you wouldn’t be able to leave and speak fluently. We want to tell them the reality of it so that they don’t become disappointed and have high expectations. We tell them that this work is all about getting the answers from the animals. Some people will teach shamanic journeying but we don’t, because that muddies the waters and after a while you don’t know who you’re talking to. We don’t do the psychic work, because some people may get their information from Spirit guides or from here or there. That’s not what we do. We simply learn the language of the animals, so we keep the authenticity and the integrity alive. It’s a language coming from the animal and nowhere else. I’ve been doing this for 29 years, and there’s nothing abstract about it. We just bring it down into everyday language so that it’s really understood, and we keep it as simple as possible.
In your book, The you begin by talking the heart important animals? CG: When I took
Language of Animals, about the heart. Why is in communicating with
my first workshop, I couldn’t get it. Everybody else was getting it, but I wasn’t, so I was pretty frustrated after I left the workshop — and I didn’t do anything for two years because I didn’t know what to do. It was when I bought my horse, Tallanny, that I learned the difference between talking with people and animals. I had my own business at that point, and I would just take a chair and sit with him. By doing that, it began to feel different. If I thought I had a problem when I saw him and rode him and just hung out with him, all of my problems were just gone. I was able to relax. I was able to quiet my mind. I was able to be still. What he was trying to convey to me in a concept was that I was trying to make the language the same as it is with a person — communicating from the intellect, the mind only — and he was trying to share with me that if you open your heart, you will be able to hear the animals. I understood when I was able to feel that feeling, that sense of love and that sense of
peace from him. Imagine a circle, a wheel, and the heart is in the middle. We know that we’re all emotional, physical, spiritual and mental beings. If you talk from the middle — the heart — then it makes you privy to all the different aspects of that person or that animal. You can touch the intellect, you can touch the physical, and you can get information from all of those aspects. But if you were to use just the intellect and talk from that part, you would only be talking to 25 percent of who that individual is and that conversation would be very limited. When you talk from your heart, what you’re really doing is telling that person or that animal that you’re really here because you just want to know who they are. You’re not here to judge them or criticize them. It’s a whole different way of speaking and listening to a person. I think everybody has experienced that at one time or another, where you’ll meet a person, maybe at a party, and only talk to them on an intellectual level. You may not know why you’re doing that, but it is usually because you don’t feel comfortable or safe with sharing your emotions, or sharing aspects of spirituality with that person. Then you meet another person at the party and, oh, my God, you start talking, talking, talking because you just feel so comfortable with that person. That’s usually because that person has approached you from a heart level saying, “I’m just interested in knowing who you are.” When we do that, especially with those animals that have been rescued, traumatized or abused from the past, it’s really critical that we do approach them at that level so they do know that we are safe and they can open up to us. Thank you for sharing that. That was a really good way to look at how communicating with animals and people are the same, in some respects. CG: It really is. I think people do communicate
from the heart, but they just don’t call it that, and they don’t know that they’re doing it because it’s natural.
Is that the key to being in the right space to communicate with the animals — getting in touch with your own heart? CG: Yes. When people communicate with an
animal, a lot of times their own personal issues will come up. Maybe somebody calls you and says, “You know, my cat’s been soiling all over the house for a couple of years now and I’ve got to resolve this or else I’m going to put my cat down.” You, the animal communicator, really need to not sit in judgment of that person, because that person probably has done everything they know to resolve the issue. They’ve consulted a vet, they’ve gotten a trainer, and they’re really just at their wit’s end. They’re saying they may have to put the animal down, but they probably don’t mean it. Perhaps that person hasn’t really dealt with their own issues. That communicator might sit in judgment of the person rather than realize that what that person needs is probably just some acknowledgement of all of the things that they’ve done. So you say, “I admire you for doing all these steps
that you have done, so what I’d like to do is help you find that one missing link for you with your animal, so hang in there.” People need to be acknowledged. What we have to do as communicators is really look at our own issues so there is no projection onto the person at all. We have to really be there 100 percent with the person, leaving ourselves on the sideline. That takes some time, because it’s easy for people to jump to conclusions. Our job is really learning how to quiet the mind so that we can be in our heart. We process 40,000 thoughts a day, so there’s a whole lot of talk that’s going on with ourselves all day long, so we have to learn how to reduce those thoughts so that we can be receptive to really hearing what the animal is saying. I tell students that can be done by meditation, maybe tai chi, maybe yoga, or maybe it simply can be a walk in nature, because that’s what helps you quiet your mind. We have a lot of work to do as communicators to be accurate and receive information on all levels from the animal so that we can help the person, because they come to us in desperate needs. They have lost their animals, their animal is sickly and the vet is kind of stumped and really doesn’t know what to do. So we learn how to be able to ask the animal how they feel physically. There is no diagnosis. It’s just a matter of the sensations that they’re feeling in their body. People call because they don’t know whether their animal is ready to go and they don’t want to make a mistake. They have behavioral problems, and if they can’t handle the aggressive behavior of their dog, they’re looking at euthanasia. So we deal with all these very sensitive issues. As communicators, we need to be doing our work, which can take years. We have a certification program, the only one of its kind in the world, to teach people how to become professional animal communicators. It takes years to do that. What we’re kind of sad about is that after a two-day workshop, a lot of people say that they’re animal communicators, and they’re just not. No one after two days can communicate fluently. As communicators, we have a lot of work to do on ourselves, with ourselves. Not only do we need to become accurate with learning this language, but we really need to be in touch with ourselves. How well do we telepathically communicate with ourselves? How well do we listen to our physical needs and take care of them? Our spiritual needs? Our mental needs? Our emotional needs? People think it’s just about learning how to communicate with animals, and it’s not. It’s learning about ourselves. The biggest thing that we have to learn is how to be there for the people, because after a while we realize that we can learn animal communication, but now how do we help the people? We have to learn impeccable skills of how to listen. What we’re known for at the Institute is our customized action plan. Our job is to get to the root of the issue, why the animal is doing this, and then ask them what they need to do to Heart

by Jane Hawkner Cats can help you establish a consistent spiritual practice. As a Wiccan and a Reiki Master, my spiritual practices are varied, as is my experience with cats. If you search Google for Zen Cats, you get about 1,670,000 results. But neither books nor Google taught me about the Zen of cats. It was Amber. Put ten Reiki Masters into a room, and you will get stories of how their cats are drawn to the healing energy. Some will jump up on the table, waiting to receive Reiki, others hang out beneath, purring as the energy flows, and some will just stay in the space and watch. Put ten Wiccans into a room and ask them about their cats. You will find almost all of them have stories of their “familiars” past and present. One cat (Mithra) would follow the priestess around as she created a sacred circle, completely quiet as she walked along, just apparently enjoying the flow of energy. She did this several times for over a year, until one day Mithra stopped and started meowing, scoldingly. The priestess realized then that she missed a step. How did the cat become such an adept? Cats are indeed Zen masters. They are completely present, observing, holding space. So the cat who comes to a ritual is completely present in the moment, supporting. Some cats also love routine, and any repeated ritual act is a routine, and if you break your routine, they will know it. This brings me to Amber. She was an orange tabby who shared her home with me and my wife Thraicie. As two people who viewed spirituality as a primary tool of life, we decided to establish a practice of evening meditation. So we set aside a space to sit, complete with candles and incense and a statue of Buddha I had gotten several years before, and we decided to shut the door, so we could focus.
We started with short 5-10 minute meditations. But shutting the cat out of the room did not go over well. Amber made her displeasure known immediately and constantly, scratching on the outside of the door and meowing until we let her join us. Then, like a Zen master, she tested our resolve. As I would try to focus on my breathing and posture, Amber would bump my hand, or rub on my knee, or paw on my side, demanding attention. Although annoyed, I decided this distraction was better than disruptive noise, so we didn’t lock her out again. We kept working at our meditation practice, night after night. We sat together — me, Thraicie and Amber — only knowing a reprieve from the kitty attention when she switched between us. And somehow, we were able to lengthen our meditation sessions to 15-20 minutes. After a couple of weeks of consistent practice, Amber must have decided we had passed the first level of training, or reached a level of stillness she recognized, because the bumping and nudging and pawing stopped. As I sat on my cushion, legs crossed, she climbed up onto my lap and sat with me. And our meditation sessions lengthened to 30 minutes or more. Amber taught me to accept the present moment and let go of thoughts and judgment and frustration and just breathe and make space. When I could do that, she shared that space and became a partner in practice. She no longer complained when we went to sit and meditate, but rather, when we didn’t. Even when she was being “bothersome,” it turns out Amber was teaching me not to let my mind run away with this thought or the other, but to focus. I did not focus on my breath, as I intended, but on her, and then, to not focus and just allow her to be herself without frustration or judgment, opening to the present moment, even when it unfolds in a way I didn’t plan. a Jane Hawkner is co-creator of Eye of Horus Metaphysical store in Minneapolis. MY LIFE WITH CATS IS FILLED WITH GIFTS by Judie Randall I have had cats my whole life. I have been very lucky to have had kitties who lived very long lives. About 18 months ago, I had to cross over my two very special cats, Max and Minnie. They were 18 and 19 years old, respectively, and it was their time. Minnie was the first to leave — she had a stroke and could not move. I was very lucky to find a vet who came to the house to help her cross over. And I was able to let Max witness this
so he would understand why she wasn’t around anymore. At the time of the injection, Max looked at me and I heard very clearly, “Not me, too?!“ I assured him it wasn’t his time yet. He was able to be with me for another three months. My Max Cat was very special. He would help me do readings. If there was a message for a client’s animals, he would come and sit on my lap and bug me until I started talking about the client’s animals. When the message had been relayed, he would then leave. These messages were not just for cats, but all kinds of animals — dogs, cats, horses, even goats.

MS. BUN RETURNS TO US AGAIN by Lynn Savage Ms. Bun was a Manx cat that Marie brought into my life when we married in 2008. Being a talented animal communicator, Marie had found Ms. Bun to be exceptional in many ways. She seemed quite aware of events in Marie’s life, and the other members of the household (both two- and four-legged). Marie actually felt that Ms. Bun filled the role of spiritual mentor and guide, and she was instrumental in helping lead us to adopting Sophie, our Shih Tzu rescue dog. My time with Ms. Bun overlapped the last seven of her 17 years of life, long enough to develop a deep bond with her. However, in late 2014, Ms. Bun developed a large tumor near her stubby tail, and it became clear that she would not be with us for much longer. As we grappled with the inevitability of Bun’s departure, she disclosed some amazing things through Marie. For one, she was upset at having to leave before her “projects” were complete — apparently she was working on one that involved me. We also learned that Bun, Sophie and Bella (our other Shih Tzu) had been sisters in a past life as humans. Bella’s time with us had only overlapped Bun’s by three months. It was so sad to be finally reunited for some mystical and wonderful purpose, only to see it cut short! Bun’s final words to Marie were, “Don’t worry, I will be back!” In the grief-stricken days following Bun’s passing, Marie continued to receive telepathic communication from her. She described crossing the “Rainbow Bridge” and being reunited with other family members and pets that had previously passed on. Then she mentioned meetings with guides to review her life and complete the transition to the Other Side. At times Marie’s ears buzzed, and she felt the energy to be overwhelming, since it was channeling from a higher dimension. Then came the message, “I’m coming back. The guides don’t think it should be so soon, but I am determined. I have projects to finish down
So when he died, I felt like I had lost a “reading” partner. I adopted two new young cats — both six months old — last June. They are identical siblings; I call them twins. They have brought new life into my house with all of their energy. Their names are Rolls and Royce. Rolls has the attention span of a flea — he does not sit still for 30 seconds. So imagine my surprise when during a phone reading he came and sat down by me and did not leave until I talked with the client about her animals. Then he was off running again. Now during phone readings, either Royce or Rolls, or sometimes both, will come and sit with

I’m arguing with them and I want you to start searching for a kitten to adopt.” Bun said she had been searching Craigslist from the Other Side, and guided Marie where to look for a certain 12-week-old Siamese kitten. We made the connection, and on a snowy, gridlocked travel day in January, we brought the kitten home. We named her Bun-Bun. Bun-Bun quickly showed signs that she was Ms. Bun reincarnated. She dug out Ms. Bun’s prized collection of toy mice and bathed them in her water dish, just as Ms. Bun had often done. She continued to communicate with Marie, and although it took some time to get her energy fully organized in a new body, she eventually picked up where Ms. Bun had left off. She is not a Manx, but in her eyes we can see the energy of Ms. Bun, and she is obviously thrilled at having upgraded her tired, sick body for a young, lithe and energetic one. The sting of grief has been supplanted by the joy of the miracle of reincarnation. This teaches us an immense spiritual lesson about the nature of life and our reasons for being here, and anyone who has suffered the loss of beloved pets (or humans!) might find some comfort in this story. Bun continues to work on her “projects” and coordinates her efforts with her “sisters,” Sophie and Bella. It is clear that none of these three are ordinary pets. Bun has also developed the knack for sending text messages through my cell phone, since she is impatient that I can’t communicate telepathically like Marie. When I query her about memories of her life as Ms. Bun, she replies with information that only Ms. Bun would know. How does she do it? She won’t say, but I speculate that it must be a high-tech version of electronic voice phenomenon, a well-known form of spirit communication. What of the “projects” Bun is working on? other planets. That’s how old the souls are. When Kryon talks about an old soul, even he limits it to this planet, and he limits it to our Akashic record and remembrance of just our lifetimes on this planet. But it goes way, way beyond that. It’s fascinating to me to think that all of that might be carried and recorded with us in our DNA. Kyron says it is. And that’s why many people, spiritual people, sometimes get glimpses of things far earlier than Earth, and they’re branded as very strange and weird, depending on who they tell. But, this is why we sometimes are getting some of the things we are getting, even in dreams and in visions. Why does Kryon focus on old souls — and what has Kryon said about new souls? LC: If you’re in a room and you’re an
educator and you’ve got people who have received Ph.D.s — along with freshman and people in their third year — there is a hierarchy of respect. That is what the mention of old souls is about. You’re not more special; you’ve just been around longer. The wisdom factor is higher if you have lived many, many lifetimes. I think you and I both could agree that maybe we have met what I will call firsttimers who don’t have a clue. They are so much into survival and just figuring out Earth that the last thing they’ll do is open an article from you or listen to a channeling. They have to figure out what’s what. These are people who are new. Old souls have lived so many lives and have lived through all of the experiences. They’ve been both genders, raised hundreds of children and have a wisdom that literally can move us into a higher vibration because of that. Kryon said the old souls of the planet are the ones who are going to make the changes because they’re waking up first because they have been through it and they have the most experience. So the light is being turned on in areas for old souls that would not necessarily be turned on for people who just got here. Old soul versus new soul is not about good and bad or who’s right or wrong, or who is special or not. The responsibility is on the old souls, and they’re the ones reading this. I have seen this worldwide. It is now starting to really get specialized wherever I go. I can do far more mature things in workshops, in energy work with large crowds, than I ever could do 15 years ago, and people don’t have to be talked into it. They’re ready to go. They understand energy — and this is new. I can tell you, having done this for a very long time, now 25 years, that this work that we are doing as Lightworkers with others is changing remarkably. I have this discussion with people like Gregg Braden and Bruce Lipton and others on the circuit. Sometimes

we’ll be eating together or whatever, and we’ll just nod our heads going, “This is a whole different bag that we’re in today.” Your event in August in Minneapolis is called “The Family Reunion,” and you will have Dr. Amber Wolf with you. Tell us a little bit about who she is and what she does? LC: Amber and I have been presenting
in the States and also a little bit in South America and a couple times in Europe. Dr. Wolf is a specialist in many kinds of things. She does craniosacral healing and is a body specialist. She also is a people specialist with her psychology. What we often do is present mini-workshops, interactive events where we get people talking to one another, doing energy work and these kinds of things. Dr. Wolf and I have done many successful workshops, including the ones that we used to call “The Journey Home” workshops from Kryon book five, Journey Home. We walked through the adventure, and they became “Discovery” workshops where you discover parts of yourself.
Aside from channeling Kryon, you present information at your events. Can you share something about that? LC: What I do is I channel Kryon, but only
maybe 90 minutes to 2 hours is actual channeling. I have put together information that Kryon has given over the years, and that is what I present during the day. It is an explanation of what Kryon has given us in common terms. I try to use science. I try to put it together for the common person so they will understand, because sometimes the channeling is pretty cryptic. It’s high energy and it can be difficult for some to understand.
What effect does listening to Kryon have on people? LC: Generally, it puts them into a space
of reflectiveness. When the channeling is happening, there are usually tears — not of sadness, but of recognition. It sometimes opens a portal within yourself that lets you see the beauty of who you are and the truth. The truth is that we are from the Creator, that we are all family, and maybe, just maybe, there’s a message for us. So, in general, that’s what goes on.
What has Kryon said recently that has had a meaningful impact on you, personally? LC: That things are going to be changing
for me, and they already are. I am just like everybody else. Just because I’m the channeler does not mean I sit there in my chair and just give information and go home. There are things I will have to work with that are different, so I have to get used to them. I am working the puzzle the same way other people are. Kryon has just mentioned to me that this is going to affect the work, and it already is. We’re starting to see increases in
attendance, especially in the places where I am going in Europe and around the world. That is a surprise at my age and at this point in the work. You organized a big event that took place in June in which dozens of channelers shared the same podium. LC: We have done this before, but not to
this degree in the States. Oddly enough, I’ve done it in Europe two times where I’ll collect channelers and show people that we are not competing — we are very different. We have some different focuses, but almost all of us say this is the new time and things are changing and then we’re starting to elaborate what the changes are. The June event was biggest event we have ever put together in the States. Not only did we have a full Kryon conference, but then there were three days of these 12 channelers that I put together. I want people to know that we have a similar message, that they don’t have to choose a guru. The guru should be you. The Higher Self should be the one that you are turning to — and for everything else, use good discernment. I want people to come and discern and listen and realize truly what is happening.
You’ve traveled the world spreading the message of Kryon. What location has been the most moving to you to visit? LC: They’re all so different, Tim. And I’ve
had some amazing things happen all over the planet. Personally, I am biased. Nature speaks to me. So, I would say the locations that have overwhelmed me over and over have been the parts of what Kryon says are left of Lemuria, that is Hawaii. Those places carry an energy for me; I have to go back to them to recharge. From a spiritual standpoint there are so many kinds of awakenings going on, from Russia to Bulgaria to Turkey, into Italy and Germany and France. The ones that have been newest to me have been profound only because they have been recent: our journeys to South America. That’s a place that is awakening tremendously. We have trips coming up again to Peru and Bolivia and Chile. It’s really hard to put my finger on the most profound experiences we have had. a

change that behavior. Depending on what the animal says, we may add what we feel might be helpful to that animal, but our job is not to just give this information to the person. We really need to explore with the family. Are they willing? Does their lifestyle allow them to implement the things that are necessary to help the animal? Our job is not to just hang up after talking to the animal, because the client may be overwhelmed by what has been presented. Our job is to listen to the family and say, “Is it possible for you to do these things?” We need to be able to offer a plan that’s doable for them. Otherwise, when we hang up the phone nothing will happen and then the dynamic doesn’t change. So our job is to really learn communication on all levels. I wondered how your connection with other people changed after becoming an animal communicator, and it sounds like perhaps you’ve become better at connecting with people. CG: Oh, absolutely! A lot of people will say,
“Well, I’m going into the field of animal communication because I just feel more comfortable around animals and I just don’t deal well with people.” And I’ll say right off the bat, “Well, you’re coming into the wrong profession then, because you really need to have good skills and you really need to like people.”
That’s a good point to emphasize that you’re supporting the people as well as the animals. CG: Oh, absolutely because we don’t want
to hang up the phone after all of that work is done, and so forth, our job is to help the family and the animal, and then we get back to the animal and just say, you know, “Things have changed a little bit, and it’s not because the people don’t love you, they love you tremendously, but their lifestyle, their busyness at work and so forth, they, you know, they just don’t have the time, but they’re going to do this, they’re going to do
that, you know, so see how much they love you?” So, that’s what our job is. From your experience with animals, what have you learned in general about what they offer us as human beings? CG: The thing that I learned, oh gosh, 29
years ago, was that animals are a mirror of us. They are very much like children and they will act things out. Often there isn’t really anything going on with the animal, because it has to do with what’s going on with the family. I’ll give you an example that a dog helped me understand. I was called by a man who said that when he had his dog in a room with other people, the dog would go on attack mode with the people. If he left the room, the dog would be absolutely fine. He would come back in the room and the dog would go back on attack mode. So they had muzzled the dog for eight years and he really just wanted to see if animal communication could make a change. When I talked with the dog and asked him why he was doing that, I got absolutely nothing. No communication back. Of course, I got really scared and wondered, “Oh, my God. Have I lost my abilities? What has happened?” But, when I got back to this fellow and told him, “You know, I don’t, I can’t help you because I got nothing from your dog,” then he told me that he doesn’t often go out and socialize, because he is just not comfortable doing that. “I go to my parents’ house for dinner and then I come back home.” “Well,” I asked, “how uncomfortable do you get around people?” “Well, I just feel like I could get hurt, that people might hurt me.” All of a sudden, a light bulb went on for him and he said, “Oh my God, Carol! This isn’t about my dog is it? It’s about me!” I said, “Yes, but I didn’t know that.” What I’m finding is that when animals don’t communicate back, it is my cue to look to the family, because something might be going on there. The man asked me what he can do, and I responded, “Well, you have
a fear. Animals are feeling beings, so when you put out that fear, the animal feels it — and this dog loves you. What he’ll do then is push the people away from you because you think the people are going to hurt you. He’s just responding to fear.” The man asked again, “Well, how do I deal with it?” I said, “You know, you might want to consult with a therapist to be able to find out where your fear is coming from, because once you find the root of the issue for you, then the fear won’t be there anymore and your dog won’t have to protect you.” After that consultation, I realized that animal communication is much bigger than I thought it was. I started seeing another aspect of what animal communication is, and that is something that I pioneered and brought to the field of animal communication.
While you were talking, I was wondering if it would be valuable for all pet owners, when they first get a pet, to have a simple class where they can connect maybe on a deeper level with their new pets. CG: Tim, you must be reading my mind and
our goal, because that’s what I keep saying to people: “One of these days, just as when you have to get a collar and a leash for your dog, and carrier for your dog or cat, you will then speak to a communicator about who your animal is.” I hope that day comes. I’m not quite sure it will be in my lifetime. Our mission is to change how the world thinks and feels about animals, so I hope that one day it will be exactly that. That’s what we’re hoping for.
