ocal authorities will be implementing gun ban within the city limits after the Philippine National Police (PNP) National Headquarters approved a request sought by Mayor Sara Z. Duterte.

his was con�irmed by Davao City Police Of�ice (DCPO) spokesperson Capt. Rosario Aguilar on Wednesday's AFP-PNP Press Corps Southern Mindanao brie�ing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
Aguilar said the order was approved by PNP of�icer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa dated January 6 and was received by their of�ice on January 7. As this developed, gun holders are now advised not to bring their
�irearms within the city. Aguilar also clari�ied that those who will just pass by the city should �irst get an authority to transport from the Regional Civil Security Unit of Police Regional Of�ice (PRO) 11. She said the approval is in line with the lifting of Martial Law in Mindanao last January 1. This measure was sought by the City Government of Davao against those who have criminal or terroristic intention in the city.
