ice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte has just made emphasis on the word ‘quota.’ Quota, popularly used in loose Pinoy street speak as the minimum or maximum measure of ful�illment, has been named the operative minimum limit by the youthful presiding of�icer of the Davao City Council to require all councilors to pass at least one ordinance per year.
In a report by the Philippine News Agency posted late Wednesday, Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang bared in an interview with media that Vice Mayor Duterte wanted to see
to it that the councilors are working in their respective committees. Dayanghirang, who said the vice mayor expressed this sentiment during one of their
executive sessions, added that City Council members are amenable to Baste’s proposal. “We are obliged to follow it or else it would re�lect that we are not doing our job,” Dayanghirang said. The veteran councilor said they �ind the vice mayor’s leadership “assertive” and that it was only right as they were primarily elected to formulate local laws. “We really appreciate it and as far as I’m concerned,
