arring any changes in the law, it’s on as scheduled. As far as the Commission on Elections is concerned, the 2020 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections will push through on May 11 next year.
"Tuloy po ang barangay and SK elections based po sa law," Comelec 11 spokesperson Lawyer Krishna Samantha Caballero bared on Thursday, July 4 during the I-Speak Forum held at the City Hall of Davao City. Regardless of several bills �iled in Congress rescheduling the barangay and SK polls from May 2020 to May 2023, Caballero explained that as long as the bill isn't passed yet, the poll body will �irmly follow the existing law. "Resolution pa naman po siya. Habang hindi pa po siya batas, yung
existing law po talaga ang susundin namin," she said. Isabela 6th District Rep. Faustino “Inno” Dy V vowed on Tuesday that he would commit his �irst year in of�ice to push for the passage of a measure rescheduling barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls from May 2020 to May 2023. He stressed that there is a need for barangay executives to serve full �ive-year terms to better serve their constituents and to ensure uninterrupted government services.
