ondays are normally the �irst day of work on any given week. But for the city’s and the rest of the country’s elective of�icials, �irst day of work of�icially began at noon of Sunday, June 30. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio starts a fresh three-year term as the city’s chief executive, her second consecutive tour of duty that began in 2016. Also of�icially kicking off their term of of�ice are two other presidential children
-- Paolo (Pulong), who will serve the next three years as representative of the �irst congressional district; and Sebastian (Baste), who will serve as vice mayor. Unlike Sara and Pulong, Baste is in his �irst season in public of�ice.
Also serving fresh terms are congressional returnees Vincent Garcia in the second district and Isidro Ungab in the third district. The 19th City Council will also have a mix of old and new faces.
