he Commission on Elections (COMELEC) reminded voters not to take pictures or “sel�ies” after voting as it could be a strong evidence for vote buying and vote selling.

onday’s press conference of the self-proclaimed ‘Bikoy’ at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) headquarters may have been allowed by some high ranking of�icer of the National Center for Legal Aid (NCLA).

This was the impression of Davao City lawyer lawyer Caesar Europa Jr., Ateneo de Davao University College of Law professor and former Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Davao City president.

“Considering that the IBP Board of Governors has already denied having allowed the press conference of Bikoy on IBP premises, it stands to reason that some high ranking of�icer of the National Center for Legal Aid (NCLA) al-

lowed it,” Europa told Edge Davao in an interview.

Europa, owner of the EDC Law Firm and IBP Regional Governor for Eastern Mindanao from 20152017, said: “Whoever that person may be should accept responsibility for it and explain how, and why it happened.”

On Wednesday, the IBP rejected the request for legal aid of Peter Joemel Advincula who introduced himself as “Bikoy”, a hooded �igure who linked President Rodrigo Duter-

te’s family to the narcotics trade in several viral videos.

“While it is true that there is indeed an evaluation process for all applicants for legal aid assistance, even at local IBP chapters, it should have been denied immediately when the political propaganda intentions of the applicant became apparent and, certainly, the press conference should not have been allowed pending the evaluation,” Europa said.

Rizal Memorial Colleges School of Law Dean lawyer Ramon Edison Batacan also expressed his adherence to the IBP National Chapter’s decision.

In a separate interview, Batacan said: “The denial

was proper, Bikoy does not deserve a representation from the IBP. “ According to Batacan, Advincula’s motive is malicious and he is known to be a perjured witness.

The IBP decision was signed by IBP National President Abdiel Dan Elijah Fajardo and released on Wednesday.

The organization rejected Advincula’s request after a thorough evaluation of his application by the NCLA, Fajardo said in a statement.

“In the pursuit of its mandate to provide access to justice to the poor and the marginalized, the IBP cannot be seen to be siding with or going against any candidate or political party,” said Fajardo.

he Davao City Police Of�ice (DCPO) will strictly implement the "No Backpack" policy on election day, May 13.

"The Comelec has asked to implement it to prevent any terrorist act," said Police Col. Alexander Tagum, DCPO chief, on Tuesday.

The "no backpack" policy has been implemented in the city after the series of bombings in the southern area of Mindanao in the past few months.

Tagum said DCPO is prepared for Monday’s election, including the security for President Rodri-

go Duterte who is expected to cast his vote here.

"Force coordination of DCPO with the presidential security group is ongoing," Tagum said.

Tagum said the security plan for the election was already tackled during the City Peace and Order Council Monday, during which the DCPO conducted a send-off ceremony for all its personnel involved with election duties.

Tagum reminded local security forces of their task to secure all polling places and ensure an orderly and peaceful election. (PNA)

Comelec crafts rules in case of quake on May 13 elections

ue to the recent earthquakes recorded in different parts of the country, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to release rules on what to do in case tremors occur on election day, an of�icial said Tuesday.

Comelec spokesman James Jimenez said the rules of procedures are being prepared that will be implemented in the event earthquakes happen next week.

“We are doing our best to come up with this policy as quickly as possible,” said Jimenez in a media interview.

“Again all of these things why they should have been part of the planning a long time ago its only now it’s becoming very urgent for some reason,” he said.

Jimenez noted that they are also coordinating with the Department of Education (DepEd) to check on school buildings

particularly in areas hit by tremors in the past weeks.

“So now in the wake of this earthquake, I guess the �irst thing to do is to coordinate with DepEd to �ind out if the voting facilities are still structurally sound,” Jimenez said.

During elections, public schools in the country are usually used as polling centers.

Jimenez added that their primary concern is the safety of all-- including voters, Comelec personnel, and other stakeholders.

“The most important consideration here is their safety and we want to make sure that if there are voting precincts in these areas, they should be safe and they have not been damaged by either the primary earthquake or the aftershocks,” he said.

Data from the SEC dated April 15, 2019, showed the corporate existence and registration of �ive NGOs, have long been ordered revoked more than 10 years ago for non-�iling of reports while another NGO’s registration is suspended since 2017 for the same reason.

President signs into law Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act

P

resident Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law a bill institutionalizing energy ef�iciency and conservation, enhancing the ef�icient use of energy, and granting incentives to energy ef�iciency and conservation projects in the country.

Duterte signed the Energy Ef�iciency and Conservation Act (Republic Act 11285) on April 12, but a copy of which was released to media on Tuesday (May 7).

Under the new law, government recognizes the need to “institutionalize energy ef�iciency and conservation as a national way of life geared towards the ef�icient and judicious utilization of energy by formulating, developing, and implementing energy ef�iciency and conservation plans and programs.”

This way, it would “secure suf�iciency and stability of energy supply in the country to cushion the impact of high prices of imported fuels to local markets and protect the environment in support of the economic and social development goals of the country.”

The law creates an Inter-Agency Energy Ef�iciency and Conservation Committee (IAEECC) to evaluate and approve government energy ef�icient projects as de�ined under the new law and to provide strategic direction in the implementation of the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP).

The GEMP refers to the government-wide program to reduce the government's monthly consumption of electricity and petroleum products through electricity ef�i-

ciency and conservation, and ef�iciency and conservation in fuel use of government vehicles, among others.

The IAEECC shall be chaired by the Energy Secretary and composed of the Secretaries of the Department of Budget and Management, Department of Finance, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Transportation, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Public Works and Highways, and the Director General of National Economic and Development Authority.

Powers and functions of the IAEECC include to prepare an annual assessment of opportunities for energy cost reduction in state-owned and leased buildings and facilities designated by the IAEECC; to review all proposed capital projects and energy cost operating budgets of agencies designated by the IAEECC; and, recommend energy conversation measures which would reduce operating costs in state-owned and leased buildings or facilities.

The IAEECC is also tasked to provide any of�icer or entity of government technical and consultative assistance concerning energy cost management or conservation and annually recommends speci�ic operations and maintenance procedure modi�ications and capital projects for state-owned and leased buildings and facilities designed to reduce energy consumption and costs.

resident Rodrigo Duterte’s “Build, Build, Build” (BBB) program has generated a record-breaking number of employment opportunities nationwide, with over 4 million people employed since 2016, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported on Tuesday.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, 4,199,228 jobs were generated from the road, bridge, �lood-control and other infrastructure projects of the department all over the country.

He also reported that almost half of the work were created from projects funded under 2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

“Thanks to the huge increase in DPWH budget since President Rodrigo Roa Duterte took over, we were able to provide jobs to millions of Filipinos across the country,” he said in a statement.

The DPWH of�icial added that in 2016 they were able to provide jobs to some 1.087 million workers; 1.281 million the following year and around 1.830 million in 2018.

Under the BBB, he said contractors hired at least 50 percent of unskilled and 30 percent of skilled labor requirement from the locality where the projects are located within an average of four months per project, 22 days per month.

“These workers are earning an average daily wage of PHP550 and are helping us build vital infrastructure projects across the country,” Villar added.

With this, the DPWH chief noted that for this year, some 1 million workers are likely to bene�it from other undertakings to be constructed.

“With the approved budget of PHP3.757 trillion in 2019, at least a million more would bene�it from the projects implemented by DPWH,” Villar said.

“We hope that this massive infrastructure program of the government will be able to solve traf�ic woes and improve connectivity among towns and cities, and will further improve livelihood nationwide,” he added.

Under the BBB programs, the government will be constructing roads, bridges, airport, railways among others, with a total budget of PHP8 trillion, covering 2017 to 2022.

The program is the government’s medium-term goal to increase spending from 5.4 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 7.3 percent by the end the President Duterte’s term in 2022.

Also, under the program, existing road network will be expanded and upgraded, strategic inter-island bridges will also be given priority.

Earlier, the Department Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that excess demand for workers and improvement of wages will prove that the government multi-trillion worth infrastructure program is effective.

This includes demand for workers such as carpenters, plumbers, electricians, masons, among others.

Among the key infrastructure projects under the BBB Program include the Subic-Clark Railway and the North-South railway projects connecting Los Baños, Laguna to Tutuban, Manila and Clark Freeport in Pampanga.

It likewise includes the 1,500-hectare industrial park in Clark, Pampanga and the expansion of Clark International Airport. (PNA)

more than PhP 2,000 and school documents and was found along the Quezon St., in front of the Gaisano Grand Mall entrance while Dimpas and Burdo were manning the traf�ic.

"I know how it felt to need money so I felt the urge to return the wallet," said Burdo in an interview. Burdo has

been serving the LGU for twelve (12) years.

"By returning a lost item, we make a good example. We are glad that we made our TMU and LGU-Panabo proud," said Dimpas. He is working as an enforcer for about 1 month.

Dimpas and Burdo both received certi�icate of recognition during

n 2018, the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas shut down 12 savings and rural banks as the regulatory body continues to rid the industry of weak players. Economic dif�iculties and stringent government regulations, therefore, prompted existing rural banks to look for alternative ways to survive.

EDITORIAL High ratings President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration continues to show resiliency amidst the attacks and accusations hurled by its critics here and abroad.

The recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey only further proves this. According to its latest poll results, the Duterte administration has achieved the highest satisfaction rating since the poll on national administrations was conducted in 1989. In the �irst quarter 2019, the SWS survey done from March 28 to 31 showed that at least 81 percent of adult Filipinos say they are satis�ied with the present administration, with only 9 percent dissatis�ied, and 10 percent who are neither satis�ied nor dissatis�ied. The administration’s overall rating is six points above the very good +66 (76% satis�ied, 9% dissatis�ied) in December 2018, and two points above the previous record of excellent +70 in December 2017. Its “new record-high” net satisfaction rating reached +72, classi�ied by SWS as “excellent.”

The SWS attributed the rise in the present administration’s overall net satisfaction rating with the increases in all areas, rising from very good to excellent in the Visayas, up by 11 points from +63 in December 2018 to

IMPROVED CREDIT RATINGS DUE TO BETTER REVENUES AND IMPROVED DEBT RATIOS The excitement of many due to the credit rating upgrade of leading ratings agency Standard and Poor will de�initely be a boost for the government’s economic team. Along with Fitch ratings, they are acknowledged to be leaders in setting credit ratings.

A credit rating upgrade means that there is a strong capacity to pay loans, and less risk to lending to the government, and private enterprises in the country.

This is a measure that pits us against other countries competing for a share in interna-

tional credit.

The better the rating, the bigger the chance we can obtain better loans and better terms.

Beyond this, strong ratings indicate a robust economy that allows business loans to be paid with better regularity, thereby lowering the risk of lending to businesses in that country. Interest rates on such loans will also go down.

When that happens, expect more investors to tap into �inancing to establish or expand businesses.

Note that this upgrade means that our S and P credit

ratings are now at the same level as Thailand and better than Indonesia’s.

Is it any wonder why in the last two years foreign direct investments have doubled the 2015-2016 �igure?

While lower than Indonesia’s at around 10 billion dollars per year, this is double the best that the PNOY government achieved, and ten times higher than that of previous governments like GMA. A higher credit rating therefore is a positive re�lection on government’s performance in managing the economy and putting the right

reforms in place.

The results are for two major reasons: improvements in revenue collection and better Debt to GDP ratios.

The collection performance of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) averaged 96.7 percent in its �irst two full years under the Duterte administration, compared to an average of only 94.5 percent during its full �ive years in the previous government.

I believe tax reforms and the ease in paying taxes due to the provision of the 8% tax on gross income de�initely improved collections while mak-

ing it easier to compute and pay when compared to the previous system of confusing documents.

Likewise, despite increasing debt levels, our capacity to pay them has also improved since our GDP remains high at above 6%.

The Debt to GDP ratio improved to 41.9 from 42.1 percent in 2017, and falling further to 41.9 percent in 2018.

These facts show that things are looking good. The challenge is creating the means to spread these opportunities. A big part of that will also be up to us.

BRING BACK THE DOCTOR IN THE SENATE The midterm poll is coming! It is very interesting this year since the �ield for the Senate is very open. Unlike before when you already know two parties are contesting again each other.

But such is not the case now. There are only “senatoriables” in the opposition side. In the administration side, there are more than 12 contenders. And of course, there are those who run independently.

Which means there are those who will vote some from the administration candidates, those from the opposition and others from the independents to complete the set of 12 senators. Of course, there are those who may select a few of them only, perhaps 3 or 6 candidates.

For me, I will vote for only four candidates. One of them is Dr. Willie T. Ong, the only doctor running for the Senate. “There is no doctor pushing for things at the committee on health,” he told media after �iling his certi�icate on candidacy at the Commission on Elections.

As a private physician, he has been helping the poor Filipinos but he thinks he can help more if he is already in the Senate. He wants to �ile health laws that will bene�it those less privileged in life. He would also like to straighten the health care system of the country. After

all, he once served as a consultant of the Department of Health for four years.

The last time we had a doctor in the senate was when Juan Flavier became a senator. He was the health secretary before he ran. He won despite the fact the Catholic Church was against him (because of his stand on family planning and the use of condom).

Despite the fact that health is one of the important issues in this year’s election (the Dengvaxia �iasco comes to mind), Dr. Ong is not very popular among those running. In fact, only very few Filipinos known him well.

Kay Rivera in his column called Dr. Ong as an “odd candidate” and described him as “social media personality.” Dr. Ong, he wrote, “represents a growing dissatisfaction, a heightened political awareness, on the part of the public which sees the government as failing to protect their own interests.”

And people may vote for Dr. Ong for that. “The loss of trusts in incumbent and prospective senators – a motley crew of apologists, plagiarists, and perpetrators of varying degrees of crime – makes Dr. Ong and those like him an attractive alternative.”

Dr. Ong is one of the very few candidates who is very serious in what he will be

doing once he is elected. In one of the interviews, he told a newspaper columnist, “As a doctor catering to poor patients, I know which medicines are still overpriced and beyond the �inancial capability of indigents.”

On GMA News’ “Debate 2019,” he said that if elected, he plans to improve the quality of healthcare in the country, particularly its public hospitals. To do so, he needs at least 30 million for it. With more public hospitals, he said, “we can save lives.”

Dr. Ong draws inspiration from Malaysia’s strong leader, Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, who practiced medicine before joining the Malaysian parliament. He also idolizes Mother Teresa of Calcutta, a Ramon Magsaysay recipient before she got the Nobel Peace Prize.

In his Facebook account, Dr. Ong bared on why he is running for the Senate. “Many were happy and a few dismayed when I decided,” he said. But against all odds, he is running with no monetary donations for his campaign. “I want to keep it clean to have a chance to change the system,” he disclosed.

It’s a tall order but he is determined. “Even as a boy, I have always felt that I had a mission to ful�ill,” he said.

“When my family wanted me

to take up a business course,” he disobeyed them because “I wanted to be a doctor to help others.”

Dr. Ong has a soft spot for poor people. “When others focused on treating rich clients, I focused all my efforts in treating poor patients and going into the slum areas,” he admitted. “Why? Because the Bible says that where the poor, there also you shall �ind God.” For 25 years now, he and his physician wife, Liza, have devoted their time in giving free advice and services for these poor Filipinos. “When some are content to relax and enjoy life, I stick my neck out in politics, get bashed along the way, just for the chance to help more people,” he said.

Surprisingly, Dr. Ong comes from a family with no one ever involved in politics.

Hence, he cannot be called as a member of a dynasty or following someone’s footsteps. “For me, politics will not be a business,” he pointed out. “Politics will be a greater advocacy for the poor.”

During the campaign, when the time-worn path to victory is to create drama and controversy, he focuses on a clean campaign. “No huge promises,” he said, “just slow and steady helping of our people. And when politicians are busy mapping and

courting the voters, I keep on thinking and feeling bad for the non-voters, because they may not be getting any help as a result.”

There are those who believe that only corrupts join politics. Sooner or later, a clean person who become a government of�icial may be eaten by the system. He wants to prove that otherwise. “People say you have to be corrupt to join politics,” he said. “That a clean person cannot survive. I want to test that belief.”

Again, when he was still a boy, he knew that he will be helping others. “Today, more than ever, it is very clear in my mind,” he stressed. “My mission is to care for the health of 106 million Filipinos. Because health is wealth. And we need both health and wealth in our country.

That’s Dr. Ong speaking heartily. “No drama, no epal, no breast-beating,” he declared. “Just plain old helping the poor. I have no pretensions or ego in politics. My less travelled path will possibly lead to defeat. But, in the end, I may yet gain another ‘victory.’ In peace, contentment, and doing the right thing. And who knows, maybe even in the hearts of a few.”

Now, you know why I will vote for Dr. Willie T. Ong. No. 51!

“(Coconut) is the biggest agricultural export, yet there is way more we can do especially in higher value product exports.” – Dean Lao Jr., chairman of United Coconut Association of the Philippines The coconut industry in a quandary. Price of copra in the world market goes down signi�icantly and coconut farmers are thinking the government is not doing something to curb it. The downfall of copra price started two years ago and still going on.

“The coconut farmers are greatly resentment due to the collapse of the price of copra and they believe the Department of Agriculture kept them,” lamented Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol.

Their thinking is far from the truth, according to Piñol. His department, he said, can “do little” for the copra price since it is the world market that dictates it. In addition, it was only last year that the Philippine Coconut Authority was �inally transferred under his department.

Most coconut farmers think only of copra – the dried meat or kernel of the coconut – when it comes to export. But there’s another product from coconut that farmers can take advantage of. It’s called activated carbon (AC), which is made from coconut shells.

But most Filipinos are not aware of it. AC is “unheard” even among coconut farmers and policy makers.

Actually, AC is also known as activated charcoal. When water and other volatile substances are removed from the carbonic compounds – which are abundant in plants and other living organisms

– charcoal is the resulting product.

Charcoal, which is used mostly in cooking by Filipinos, is in the solid form and contains ash; as such, it doesn’t have carbon in its pure form. It becomes AC when charcoal is treated with oxygen. When charcoal is activated, the porosity is increased and with a large surface area, it can absorb substances effectively.

AC is popularly used as a water �ilter but in recent years it has been utilized as additive in such processed products like toothpaste and soap. Tablets or capsules of AC are used in many countries as an over-the-counter drug to treat diarrhea, indigestion and �latulence.

AC, often infused with sulfur or iodine, is also widely used to trap mercury emissions from coal-�ired power stations and medical incinerators. In like manner, AC is used in methane and hydrogen storage, sewage treatment, ail �ilters in gas masks and respirators, and �ilters in compressed air.

The Philippines has been producing AC since the 1970s yet. And it has been exporting AC for over �ive decades now. Last year alone, about 76,992 metric tons (MT) has been exported with a value of $135.187 million.

Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed the Philippines has been exporting AC to over 68 countries today, which is more than double the 25 markets it used to

ship 28 years ago.

“We have not exploited the market for activated carbon, which is very huge,” said Senen M. Perlada, the director of the Export Marketing Bureau of the Department of Trade and Industry, during the �irst International Coconut Conference held in Davao City in 2016.

In an industry briefing some years back, Bonifacio Fernandez Jr. of the BF Industries and Philips Carbon in Mindanao reported the world demand of AC rose from 644,000 MT in 2001 to almost 1.2 million MT in 2011. By 2021, it is forecasted to surge to 2.7 million MT. Although AC is black, the future of the traded commodity is bright. “World demand of activated carbon is expected to strengthen in 2018,” the International Coconut Community (ICC) reported two years ago. “The trend was following a positive growth in the last decade. Global imports of activated carbon in 2006 was 0.55 million MT and jumped to 0.85 million MT in 2016 which shows an increase by 54%.

“The average annual growth of world imports of activated carbon in the last decade was 4.9%,” ICC added.

“In 2017, the growth of demand for the product was 10.8%. United States, Japan, Germany, South Korea and Belgium were the main importing countries of activated carbon in the global market. The �ive countries absorbed 40% of the product

from the global market during 2017.”

In Asia, the major producing countries of coconut shell-based AC are India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka. “Export volume of the commodity from the Philippines was 23,641 MT for the period of January-April 2018,” the ICC reported. “Germany, Sri Lanka and Japan were major importing countries for activated carbon from Philippines. Accumulated export volume to those countries was 46.1% of the total export.

“In 2017, the Philippines shipped 70,353 MT of activated carbon to international market which was 14.5% higher compared to the corresponding period of previous year, that is, 60,162 MT. Germany, Japan, and United States were the main destinations, which absorbed more than 49% of total export of activated carbon from the Philippines,” the ICC said.

Coconut shell activated carbons are very popular in potable water puri�ication industries. “The use of activated carbon to remove harmful impurities like organic contaminants from water has been practiced since Roman times,” wrote Dr. P.A. Shankar in the website, watertechonline. com.

There are many materials that can be used as base materials for AC. The most common used in water puri�ication are lignite, bituminous and anthracite coal and peat, wood

and coconut shell.

Among these materials, coconut shell stands out. “Coconut shell-based activated carbons are the least dusty.” Dr. Shankar wrote.

“Predominantly microporous, they are well-suited for organic chemical adsorption. Coconut shell-based activated carbon has the highest hardness compared to other types of activated carbons, which makes it the ideal carbon for water puri�ication.”

The Taiwan-based Food and Fertilizer Technology Center (FFTC) has developed a technology on how to process coconut shells into AC. “Coconut production at farmer level is 1 ton per hectare, with coconut shell by-products of 0.9 ton, which in turn can yield 0.36 ton of activated charcoal,” it said.

The materials and equipment to be used for processing coconut shell into AC are the following: coconut shell, drum or burning sink, oven, plastic pail, crushes wood/ iron, draining tray, distilled water, and sieve (100 mesh).

This is the procedure: Separate and clean coconut shell from other materials, such as coconut �iber or soil. Sun dry. Burn dried coconut shell at burning sink or drum at 300-500 degrees Centigrade for 3-5 hours. Soak charcoal in chemical solution for 12-18 hours to become activated charcoal.

Wash charcoal with distilled/clean water. Spread on tray at room temperature (110 degrees Centigrade) for 3 hours. Crush or re�ine activated charcoal with crusher wood/iron into size of 100 mesh. Pack activated charcoal in plastic.

One good thing about coconut shells as base materials for AC is that they are renewable sources. “Coconut plantations with millions of hectares continue to provide all the bene�its of green trees to our environment in spite of using billions of coconut shells per year for activation,” Dr. Shankar stressed.

The coconut industry is a dominant sector of Philippine agriculture. Data gathered by the author showed that of the 12 million hectares of farmlands, 3.6 million hectares are devoted to coconut. In fact, 68 out of 81 provinces are coconut areas.

The Philippines is the world’s second largest producer of coconut products, after Indonesia. It is home to over 338 million bearing and non-bearing coconut trees, the PSA states.

About 48% (1,595,120 hectares) of all coconut is planted in Mindanao but it produces 56% (8.1 million tons) of the total production. Davao region is the top producer (2.5 million tons) followed

by Zamboanga Peninsula (1.2 million tons).

fter a sterling performance in the 1st Karate Pilipinas All Divisions National Championships held at the PhilSports Complex in Pasig City over the weekend, the Association for the Advancement of Karate (AAK) Davao is setting its sights on two international competitions slated in July.

AAK-Davao chief Rommel Tan, who is also the Karate Pilipinas Davao regional director, said the team immediately resumed training right after snaring 2 golds and 7 bronze medals in the just-concluded national competition organized by the National Sports Association (NSA) for karate and backed by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

"Tuloy-tuloy ang training bisag walay dula. What's next for us is the international karate championships in Malaysia and Thailand, all in July," the decorated coach said.

Tan said he is satis�ied with what his athletes have

shown during their most recent stint where Aldren Solon and So�ia Agullo, mainstays of AAK Davao, won gold medals apiece.

Solon stole the limelight in the boy's 12-13 years old kumite while Agullo shone the brightest in the girl's junior kata division in the event that attracted more than 500 karatekas from all over the country.

The AAK chief's daughter and karate prodigy Atsuko Kaiyel Tan as well as teammates Ian Carlos Pascual, Janna Alexandra Ramirez, Stephen Cartagena, Gabriel Quiñones, and University of Mindanao Tagum's Jammel Tainan bagged bronze medals in their respective divisions.

"Tanan eight athletes gipadala nato nag medal tanan," Tan shared.
