he Davao City Police Of�ice (DCPO) will be in a full alert status during the duration of the Holy Week on April 14 to 21.
DCPO spokesperson captain Ma. Teresita Gaspa, in Wednesday's AFP-PNP Press Corps Media Brie�ing held at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, said they are currently in heightened alert but all units will be in full alert status starting April 14 to assure the safety and security of devotees during the Lenten week. "All systems are set in terms of security plans and
preparations," Gaspan said. Gaspan said they will deploy seven-man teams in each churches of Davao City and conduct random and regular checkpoints in the tri-boundaries of the city. "We will provide personnel outside and inside the churches as well," she added. During the Lenten period, Gaspan said, police personnel will be deployed
in land terminals, seaports and at the airport as well as subdivisions. "We will provide internal security sa mga areas na identi�ied na naay sightings." Gaspan also reminded the public with the "No backpack policy" to avoid hassle during the Lenten week activities. "We will not allow big bags but instead we recommend to bring small purses enough to carry cellphones and money," she said.
