GAJUNERA OMMUNIST Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison is set to meet incoming Peace Process secretary Jesus G. Dureza in Oslo, Netherlands next week for preliminary talks. This was revealed by National Demeocratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) spokesperson Fidel Agcaoili in a media forum at the Ateneo de Davao University, Wednesday night. Agcaoili told the reporters that Dureza and Sison will have “preliminary talks” for the resumption of the peace

negotiation on the Asia’s longest communist insurgency. “The incoming administration is not yet sitting in power, that is why the talks are preliminary to be done by the teams representing the next administration and CPP,” Agcaoili said. He said that the two camps are about to talk about the “resumption of the peace negotiation in accordance with the previously signed agreements”. Agcaoili also said that the talks will also cover the promise of President-elect Rodrigo R. Duterte that he will grant

amnesty to all political prisoners, the possibility of ceasefire and, accelerating the peace process. The group of Sison is composed of Luis Jalandoni, Connie Ledesma, Julie Delima-Sison, Agcaoili and two lawyers who were not named. The government side will be composed of Dureza, Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III, Hernani Braganza and Maria Carla Munsayac-Villarta. Dureza confirmed that the meeting will be on June 14-15 in Oslo. In a separate interview, Dureza said that he was invit-

ed by the Norwegian government to attend an Oslo forum of invited peace negotiators. Also invited to the forum was Sison a reason why he immediately set the meeting with the CPP founder. “It won’t be formal talks because we are not yet in office,” Dureza said. When he assumes office on July 1, Dureza said he plans to craft a road map that will see the real situation of all the rebel groups in the country, he said. He plans to deal with rebel groups individually in order
