RESIDENT Duterte described United Nations special rapporteur on summary execution Agnes Callamar as “rude” for lambasting him in public instead of directly communicating with him. Duterte said during a press conference yesterday at the Malacanang of the South, in Panacan, this city, that the
actions of Callamar were impolite and unbecoming of her role as a UN dignitary. The President said he would like to invite Callamar to a public conference here in the Philippines so that she could ask all the questions she has in mind, but on the condition that she would also allow the chief executive to make his own
queries as well. “You seem to be characterized as a UN expert? Fine! I am just a simple trial lawyer, so why don’t you come here and let’s talk about what you are talking about,” he said. The word war between Callamar and Malacanan started when the UN rapporteur issued a statement questioning
the rising drug-related deaths in the country. Dutete said the UN should not throw unsubstantiated accusations against his administration, especially if their information is merely based on what they read in the national broadsheets. He added the UN should
