ORMER Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio on Wednesday said she is not closing the door for another political run in the 2016 elections, but is not about to ready to declare yet whether to seek the city’s highest position. Duterte-Carpio said if she will have her way, she has no intention of going back to politics, or to become mayor again.
But, a recent development where a representative of her father, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, came to Duterte-Carpio with a message that she is now being considered to become Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod ‘s candidate for mayor next year could change the change the local political landscape. The younger Duterte said

Duterte-Carpio said she told Evasco that she was doing fine with her law practice and that she is not interested in re-
turning to politics. Although Duterte-Carpio did not give any commitment, the fact that Evasco, Duterte’s long-time political strategist, had came to her meant that the elder Duterte has no plans of seeking reelection in 2016.
