AVAO City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte maintained the No. 3 spot among the preferred presidential candidates in the latest Pulse Asia survey that showed Senator Grace Poe as the new frontrunner. In the survey conducted
from May 30 to June 5, Duterte got 15 percent, or an increase of three percent from his March showing of only 12 percent. The result elated Duterte’s camp. “Result for Duterte is encouraging as he continues to
defy convention,” said Peter T. Laviña, one of the mayor’s staunch supporters. “He says he is not interested and will not run but people continue to express preference for him.” The latest survey also saw the emergence of Sen. Poe as the leading presiden-
tial contender as she cornered 30 percent, overtaking Vice President Jejomar Binay, who dropped to No. 2 spot with 22 percent. Poe got only 14 percent in the previous survey, but she got 16 percent in the May
