ONTROVERSIAL event organizer Katrina Mae Dalisay could be out of the business after members of the Davao City Council she once referred to as “hypocrites” moved to seek cancellation of her business permit for violations of the city Tax Code. The City Council yesterday passed a resolution asking the Business Bureau to revoke the business permit of Dalisay’s outfit Manic Nightnings Productions for
non-payment of taxes in two events staged in the city. After a three-hour deliberation, the council found Dalisay to have committed violations under the 2005 Davao City Revenue Code. Councilor Tomas J. Monteverde IV proposed the resolution saying that based on the reports submitted to him by the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) and the Business Bureau, Dalisay committed a violation by not paying the
right taxes on her two past events. “This just our expression of our concerns and sentiments because of the revelations as documented on the written testimonies of the Treasurer’s office,” Monteverde stressed. Monteverde said that he came up with the resolution early morning yesterday after reading the reports of two offices which he received last
