URING the first quarter of 2014, Davao City topped among other areas in Region 11 in the number of cases and deaths related to dengue, according to records obtained from the Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (RESU) of the DepartOf the 1,052 total number of cases, Davao City had 688 cases, higher as compared to 152 cases in Davao Oriental, 94 cases recorded in Compostela Valley, 78 cases in Davao del Norte and 40 cases in Davao del Sur. A total of six dengue-related deaths were recorded in the region with Davao City getting five deaths. The remaining one was recorded in Davao del Sur. In Davao City, the dis-
trict of Talomo North recorded the highest number of incidence with 138 dengue patients, followed by Talomo South with 101, district of Buhangin with 76, Agdao with 52 and Bunawan with 44 cases.
