eading independent oil company Phoenix Petroleum Philippines maintained its stance claiming its president dennis ang Uy is innocent of the charges filed against him by the department of Justice (dOJ) for violating the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines, according to an official statement.
UNAFFECTED. It’s business as usual at Phoenix gas stations despite the charges of oil smuggling filed against its president Dennis Ang Uy.
“What is absolutely clear and unequivocal is the innocence of Phoenix Petroleum, the Phoenix family and our president of these false and unsubstantiated allegations,” according to the statement. The statement pertains to the april 24 Resolution of the department of Justice (dOJ) finding probable cause to file charges against Uy, which is a reversal of the earlier resolution dated november 6, 2012 that dismissed the charges against the respondents. Uy was charged on allegations of unlawful and fraudulent imports of gas oil, unleaded gasoline and petroleum products at the Port of davao and Sub-
