CTO 5 DISMISSED Duterte okays decision on employees in P14-M misappropriation case

IVE employees of the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) were ordered dismissed for their role in the misappropriation of tax collections amounting to P14 million last year. Davao City Administrator J. Melchor V. Quitain announced the dismissal to reporters during a press briefing yesterday. Ordered dismissed were Jane M. Paguidopon, Brenda R. Nirza, Rosalie B. Remon, Paul Justen B. Almonte and Analiza S. Mesa, formerly assigned at the Cash Receipts Division (CRD) of the CTO. Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte signed the dismissal order last January 17 based on the recommendation of the all-lawyer City Investigation Committee composed of Osmundo P.
Villanueva Jr., chairman, Jhopee S. Avancena and Tristan Dwight P. Domingo, members. In a 27-page investigation report, the five were found guilty of serious dishonesty, grave misconduct, falsification of public documents, serious neglect of duty, inefficiency, incompetence in the performance of duty, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of public service.
