NO FOOD, NO FUEL Isolated Davao Oriental folks seek government relief

FFECTED residents in Davao Oriental are in need of fuel and rice in areas isolated by heavy flooding caused by continuous rains since Friday last week. Davao Oriental Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon and 701st brigade commander Benjamin Madrigal and PNP Provincial Director Jose Carumba declared some areas isolated after conducting ocular inspection yesterday. Governor Malanyaon convened the mayors and barangay captains of the affected towns in the first district of the province to
conduct damage assessments brought by heavy rains. The provincial government distributed relief goods to 625 families in Barangay San Isidro, Baganga. Each family received six kilos of rice, six cans of sardines, 10 packs of noodles and coffee. Governor Malanyaon has assigned focal persons in each municipality to procure available goods on local stores to augment the already pre-positioned relief supplies for distribution.
