avao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte described Senator Antonio Trillanes IV crazy after he filed a Senate resolution seeking for an investigation of alleged hidden wealth against her and her father, President Rodrigo R. Duterte. “Trillanes is confused and I think he is going crazy. I think I’m starting to believe the rumors about his getting hooked on something because there is no explanation of his obsession with President Duterte,” she said. The mayor said one of the examples of his confusion is the evidence he allegedly got from a certain Joseph de Mesa but he cannot produce the person and
the Anti- Money Laundering Council (AMLC) document which he adverted to previously. “How come he has in his possession purported AMLC documents,” she said. Duterte, however, said despite of the recent move of Trillanes, she would still not �ile any charges against the senator because she respects his right. “I respect his opinion
no matter how crazy it is... I believe in democracy ,” she said. “But, I think he is going crazy but I still respect crazy,” Duterte added. The mayor said she would only go to a Senate Inquiry if they will send subpoena to her. “But, if it’s only an invitation, I don’t think I will attend. If there is a subpoena with a penalty of contempt, I might --- I will go,” she said. She said she already have a lawyer who will handle the matter just in case the accusation of Trillanes will develop into legal case.
