he Metro Davao Taxi Operators Association (MDTOA) has started installing cell phones with “Hirna” taxi hailing app into the a targeted 4,000 to 5.000 taxi units in Davao City to help improve the cab service in the city. Rogelio Largo, MDTOA chairman said that Smart Communication became the new partner telecom-

munications company of the taxi hailing app instead of Globe Telecom due to a perceived con�lict of interest, as Globe has a partnership with Grab, a similar taxi hailing app. The Hirna project was launched during a well-attended ceremony at City Hall early December with a Globe regional of�icer declaring support for Hirna in
