our children died, while 224 others are suspected to be afflicted with a measles outbreak in Davao City as Tuesday, January 23, Tuesday, according to City Councilor Mary Joselle Villafuerte, chairman of the Davao City Council committee on health.
Councilor Villafuerte said that of the 224 suspected cases, 16 have been con�irmed to be af�licted with measles. Out of the city’s 182 barangays,
32 are affected. Barangay 23C, also known as Mini-Forest, has highest number with 60 suspected cases of measles. She said that one of the
fatalities is a two-year child in Catalunan Pequeno, a seven-month infant in Piapi (Barangay 22) and one-year old in Barangay Matina Crossing and
a six -month baby in barangay Santo Niño died of complications of measles. Speaking during the Pulong-Pulong ni Pulong media forum at the Sangguniang Panglungsod, Villafuerte, said that measles can cause death because the complications like pneumonia,
