Mayon’s lava flows trigger evacuations T he number of families affected by the series of phreatic explosions and lava �low spawned by Mayon Volcano has now climbed to 5,318 families which is equivalent to 21,823 persons as of 2 a.m. Tuesday. This was disclosed by National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) executive director Ricardo Jalad in the above-mentioned
update. The affected families are from 25 barangays in Camalig, Guinobatan, Ligao City, Daraga, Tabaco City and Malilipot. Families being served in 18 evacuation centers are now placed at 4,134 which is equivalent to 16,887 persons while families being aided outside these facilities are at 1,184 or 4,936 individuals.

T
he new Regional Crime Laboratory Office building and its newly acquired state-of-the-art crime lab equipment will ensure faster delivery of forensic services not only within the Davao region, but also in the entire Mindanao. This was bared by President Rodrigo R. Duterte during the inauguration of the building and facilities on Monday afternoon.
Duterte said with these enhancements, the police regional of�ice and the regional crime laboratory of�ice would be able to address capability
gaps. “ I am con�ident that our PNP (Philippine National Police) personnel in the Davao region will now be able to perform their duties more effectively,” President Duterte said. PNP chief Director Gen. Ronald Dela Rosa was elated with the new building and facility of RCLO 11. “This is a dream come
true for Mindanao policemen,” Dela Rosa said in his speech.
