UTHORITIES have concluded that drug supply in Davao City has decreased considerably based on the results of the ‘one time, big time’ anti-drug operations in ten barangays of Davao on the dawn of May 19. Police revealed that they have only recovered 131.4 grams of shabu compared to a previous operation when they confiscated more than 300 grams. “Based on our recoveries karon, obviously this is an indicator nga mao na lamang, gagmay ang drug supply particularly, shabu diri sa Davao because despite our month-long case build up ops conducted in Davao city, mao na gyud ning mga dako-dako nga drug personalities,” Davao City Police Office Chief SSUPT. Alexander Tagum said. PDEA XI Regional Director Adzhar Albani also pointed out that the low volume of confiscated drugs inside Davao is caused by its expensive value in the city. “In 2015, the price reaches up to P9,000 per gram but today in Davao, it costs up to P15,000 but you can buy it other provinces for only P2,000 per gram,” Albani revealed. A total of five people were killed and 65 were arrested during the anti-drug operations conducted by law enforcers in 10 villages of Davao. 34 warrants of arrest and 18 search warrants were served including 11 buy-bust operations were conducted.
