Fire Supt. Fritz Alagano, �ire marshall, who admitted during the press conference last Friday at Royal Mandaya Hotel that BFP regional and city of�icers will also be summoned to the investigation. Demafeliz is one of the two remaining victims who is in the missing list along with Alexandra Moreno. The body of Demafeliz was already subjected to DNA test but since the result will be released after at least one month, the mayor ordered the Scene of Crime Operatives (SOCO) to identify the gender of the victim. The SOCO, however, told the lady mayor that only an anthropologist can do it. The city then hired anthropologist Richard Taduran to examine the gender of the

‘Vinta’-affected families now at 152K

he number of families affected by Tropical Storm Vinta has climbed to 152,382 or 720,201 persons living in 1,111 barangays in the Mimaropa, Central Visayas, Zamboanga, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and CARAGA regions, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its Friday update. Of the �igure, 21,884 families or 106,758 persons are still being aided in 192 evacuation centers, along with 5,303 families or 26,192 individ-
uals outside evacuation centers. NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad said one person was con�irmed killed by the effects of “Vinta”, as 163 reported deaths were being validated as of this posting. Missing persons remain at 168. Still under a state of calamity are Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur; Bacolod, Lanao del Norte; Lanao del Norte; Labason and Salug in Zamboanga del Norte; Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay; Balabac, Aborlan, and Bataraza in Palawan.
