Devanadera is new ERC chief
P
resident Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Solicitor General and Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera as the new Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chairman. The newly-appointed ERC chairman replaces Jose Vicente Salazar, who was dismissed after the Malacanang found him “guilty of two counts of simple misconduct and one count of grave misconduct.”
Devanadera is former Solicitor General who took on the position of acting secretary of the Department of Justice during the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. In a paper dated November 22, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea informed Devanadera of her appointment as chairperson of the ERC, who is poised to serve until July 2022. (PNA)
