Avila gave the advisory during the Connect Health and Science Forum on October 27, Friday.

Foremost, she said, is for the public to avoid dehydration and heat stroke by drinking plenty of water from 10 in the morning until 2’oclock in the afternoon. “This is the hottest point of the day, that is why as much as possible they should drink plenty of water, especially those who will be visiting the memorial parks which are open,” she added.
Yasuy also reminded the vendors to observe proper hygiene in terms of preparing and storing of food products. “In terms of preparation, cooking and storing of food we are urging them to observe proper hygiene, to observe proper preparation, because every time there is an event like this there are reported cases of food poisoning,” she said. She said the best time
to visit to the cemetery is early in the morning or late afternoon. Due to the unpredictable weather, she also recommends the brining of umbrellas. Yasuy added that for the duration of Undas, the regional hospitals and DOH regional office will be in code white, meaning they are on high alert to be able to respond with the required number of doctor and nurses.
