‘Lakbay Ligtas’posts for gas customers open By ANGIE SAVERON
P
olice Director-General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa directed all policemen manning ‘Lakbay Ligtas’ posts in all gasoline stations operated by Petron to be present at all times to ensure the posts are safe haven for customers. “Police presence hindi police absence,” Dela Rosa emphasized during the launching of the Lakbay Ligtas program on October 19, Thursday at the Living Faith Petron Gas Station in Barangay Maa. Petron Corporation has proposed the idea for the putting up of ‘Lakbay Ligtas’ posts in partnership with Philippine National Police as its contribution in enhancing the security of the country. Petron said the program sought to transform its Petron Service Stations
as police presence points. He emphasized this directive to P/CInspector Ronald L. Lao, Police station 3 commander. “Dapat pag may mag daan dito may blinker jan dapat may tao ha, hindi yung walang tao nakakahiya kay ma’am Honeylet (Avanceña) na siyang maari nito,” he said. In total, there are 1000 Petron Gas Stations nationwide that adopted Lakbay Ligtas posts, 55 of which are in Davao City, Tagum City and Compostella Valley province. Each outpost is manned by two police oficers. “These stations will serve as safe haven for customers and residents and it will be a place wherein they could seek refuge, air their complaints and play an active role in crime prevention,”
