reparations by the city of Davao paid well as the transport strike waged by TRANSMISSION Piston Davao on Monday failed to cripple the transport industry, with 30% of public utility vehicle choosing to ply their trade. A total of 36 buses deployed by the City government made up for the lack of transport along the main routes. The buses comprised of 12 Bachelor bus, 12 Metro Shuttle bus, 10 Mindanao Star
bus and two LCI buses. The buses were made available to the riding public for free. The decision of Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to suspend classes and work in government of�ices also in�luenced a percentage of PUJ drivers not to operate. The buses in the south were deployed in Toril, Calinan, Maa ,Catalunan Grande while from the north the buses were deployed in Lasang via Sasa and R. Castillo, Lasang via Catitipan, Buhangin and Agdao via CM Recto.
“In our preparation, some PUJ drivers were discouraged from operating because of the free bus services to the commuters, second we are aware of the transport strike days before and the pronouncement of the class and work suspensions also contributed to the decision of PUJ drivers not to ply their trade,” said Superintendent Dioniso Abude, of�icer-in-charge of the City Transport and Traf�ic Management Of�ice said. He said that the transport strike was part of a nation-
