he Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. gave President Rodrigo Roa Duterte the thumbs up for the success of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit hosted by the Philippines. “Not all presidents are given the same prestige and respect that the other world leaders did give to our president,”said Ronald C. Go, DCCCI president on Wednesday. “I think the hosting really
highlighted what Philippines has to offer and we’re looking forward for more investments and tourist more development specially with the Philippines with what has shown,” he said.
He said is not only the ASEAN countries that took notice but also the United States and the Group of Seven (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom). He said the signed agreements during the 31st ASEAN Summit should not only happen in the paper, considering the Philippines badly need to improve its infrastructure. “I understand that one of the frustrations of the president (compared to what he used to do here in Davao) is
that it was very easy for him to implement plans and projects before and now it becomes a lot more dif�icult because of the red tape I think that something our country needs to look into,” said Go.
