By MAYA M. PADILLO he conduct of ‘self-demolition’ of illegal structures among residents along river banks and dikes continue.

The activity is part of the city government of Davao’s goal of ensuring the integrity of the river
banks and dikes especially in times of flooding.
kay ngano man? Dike is for the water nga ma-depensahan ang komunidad,” said Angel Sumagaysay, head of Public Safety and Security Command Center
(PSSCC), in an interview during a dialogue with residents of Taal Dos, in Bangkal on Wednesday. Sumagaysay stressed that residents were urged to voluntarily demolish structures that are part of their houses extended to the river bank or dike.
plained. Last week, a total of 26 settlers in Purok 34 Taal in Bangkal voluntarily demolished their structures which served as extensions of their existing structures made as living room, kitchen, and toilets.
