The proposal suggests a district that treats the city and its surroundings as an interactive and sequential canvas, allowing both artists and users to appropriate and experience the space according to their needs. The sidewalk and furniture are designed with a monolithic language and a palette of neutral colors that suggest serenity and spatial expansiveness, highlighting the art in the area. On the other hand, an interactive lighting system was designed, inspired by urban music and the existing murals in the area, to provide the user with the opportunity to become an artist.
A structure inspired by the strokes of the Puerto Rican muralist Alexis Díaz is proposed. The project seeks to create a space that allows the practice and development of the different expressions of urban art. The use of transparency in the façade is used to integrate the exterior and interior spaces in order to appreciate the art that comes out of the building and that which enters from the context. The use of natural lighting is emphasized to create atmospheres that promote creativity and imitate artistic pieces of the area.
