On this course, above all, I learnt a very sensible approach toward landscape features. Landscape is a more vast concept than just geological shapes, animals and vegetation and the built environment. It is about interaction between these elements that make it unique. Our aim, as architects is maintaining this equilibrium instead of breaking it. It is a fundamental argument to understand where, what we are working on and make an interpretation of it, considering firstly the locals, the interaction between them and the space they live everyday. Understanding the exisiting situation, the elements that compose it : geological shapes, materials, the living world (vegetation, animals ect.) and their relation, before daring to introduce a new element. It seems banality but often is taken for granted that we know the place. It is essential to read and understand it in a deeper way.The process is actually complicated, but we are lucky to have the tools. Reading a place is about monitoring nd understanding it through drawings and redrawing, researche about form and history, origin and evolution. Each element is not there by chance, and no new elements can be added there still by chance. The new element physical or social, sculpture or architecture, must be a continuity if the existing system or sth that puts in relation more than one important systems.

We have seen during the course some examples showing a very sensible and respectful approach to the architectural site elements. Personally it made me reflect and ask myself if i was considering every singularity of the site before proposing a project. It is impoortant ot adapt architecture to landscape and not vice versa. The importance of aesthetic that does not ruin the finesse of the place

Apart this, it is important to represent the introduced element in a clear way, through sections and plans, in order to understand what is described above. The purpose of a section is to understand without putting too much effort the relation between the interior spaces and the object with the surroundings. The final product should functionality and harmony.
