Our EGA students were blessed to attend a wide array of drama/theatre performances all around Cincinnati-from all the way downtown to just around the corner and even on campus!

Service to Others

A key aspect of Christian education at Eden Grov our commitment to our students serving others.

Numerous community service activities took place i and every grade.

Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s Elf Some highlights included: Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s The Wizard of Oz McAuley High School’s All Shook Up Operation Christmas Child McAuley High School’s The Diary of Anne Frank Through the generosity of our students, Eden Grove National Theatre’s The Conservation Caper Academy assembled 72 full kits for Operation Christ Playhouse in the Park’s Robin Hood Child! Empty Bowls

Thanks to the generosity of our students, teachers, and staff, Eden Grove met and exceeded our fundraising goal of $450!

On Thursday, December 15th, the 2016 Christmas Concert, like every school year, was an amazing display of student talents!

A total of $517 was raised over our four meals during the month Each grade gave a performance from singing to of February and was donated to City Gospel Mission! dramatic plays. It also included the new EGA Color Guard and our Drama Club!

A big thank you to our wonderful host First United Church of Christ for opening their sanctuary for us again this year!

Empty Bowls is a national program designed to fight hunger and to create awareness in young people about those hungry and homeless. The meals served at EGA typcially feature a bowl of soup and a piece of bread.

New student organizations come to Eden Grove!

EGA introduced a new baton and color guard program in the fall. The participants learned the basics of the two performing arts groups. They were led by Mrs. Donnise White, an alumni parent and Judy Link of Judy Link’s School of Dance and Baton. Our Color Guard gave a wonderful performance at the Christmas Concert!

The EGA Chess Club had a tremendous first year, with over 10 students participating! Led by The Chess Scholars Organization, the young men and ladies of the club learned the basic rules and strategies of the game. The highlight of the program was a tournament at the end of the year, won by Christian Watson (pictured above).

34,000 HOURS OF READING! Our EGA students read for over 34,000 HOURS in school and at home during the 2016-2017 school year through the Accelerated Reader program, a national reading program.

A total of 17,775,163 words and 2,936 books were read!

Our top overall reader was 8th grade student Jayden Turner, who read 146,518 words alone!

Eden Grove wishes to thank our outgoing PTF President Vanessa Paunescu, known to our students as Miss Vanessa, for her years of outstanding service to EGA!

In Loving Memory of Mr. Ed Myers, Jr. Eden Grove Academy is very sad to share that former Principal Mr. Ed Myers went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 21st at the age of 70.

Mr. Myers began his tenure as our principal on July 1, 1998 and retired August 16, 2011. Well respected in the College Hill community and beyond, he left a very distinguished legacy of service to others. Countless lives were touched through his life dedicated to education.

"Edward Myers loved his students, his family, and church.

He actively volunteered in many areas of his community.

His favorite quote was "You cannot unring a bell." Mr. Myers’ bell will continue to ring for years to come. He will be missed!"
