Rev. 23 Prelude: Up there Just Before The curtain rises on a satellite image of Paradise-on-Earth. The landscape is brilliantly lit by white light. Everything is white. The citizens of Paradise are naked. They mingle freely with angels (with wings), the prophets of old, the saints, Moses, Gandhi, Lincoln, Joan of Arc, etc. We see two figures dressed in black creeping along a street. They try to conceal themselves behind bushes, buildings etc. Strains of angelic voices are interwoven in the music which sounds like muzak/elevator music. The voices are singing an excerpt from the Messiah: “Blessing and honor be unto him that sitteth upon the throne . . .”set to this muzak-like music. The two figures struggle with a large object and head for a cone shaped building. They wrench open a vent and place the object in it. They run away, abandoning all attempts at stealth. There is a huge explosion. The satellite image blacks out; the angelic voices stop and the silence is filled with screams and cries. After a few seconds, the lights come back on, the Archangel Michael appears with his flaming sword; the angelic voices continue their songs, and white smoke spirals from the cone shaped building. The muzak continues with greater ferocity.
Act 1: Down Here Just After The scene opens in a cavern surrounded by a fiery fence. Beyond the fire is the bright white lit world of the satellite image. Two shadowy figures are sitting at a makeshift table in the cavern lit only by the fire.
