ABOUT PACES
The Pan-American Conference on Electrochemistry for Sustainability (PACES) is a three-day conference bringing together leading researchers from across the Americas to address pressing environmental and economic challenges through electrochemical innovations. The program features a robust mix of invited oral presentations led by established leaders in electrochemistry and sustainability, with evening poster sessions showcasing research from undergraduates, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and emerging scientists. To explore each topic more thoroughly and provide a forum for attendees to collectively explore presented concepts, each presentation cluster is followed by interactive, deep dive discussions.
The conference focuses on critical areas, including resource optimization and recovery, energy transformation, and scaling laboratory solutions to industrial applications. By leveraging the combined expertise and resources of PanAmerican nations, PACES facilitates solutions that are locally relevant and globally impactful. This regional collaboration is essential, as the Americas face shared challenges in sustainable development from the Arctic to Patagonia.
PACES promotes the circular economy model, emphasizing the reduction of critical raw material extraction, waste generation, and emissions. This approach is particularly relevant for Pan-American countries, which are major global natural resource suppliers and seek to develop more sustainable economic models. The conference facilitates knowledge exchange on technological innovations and new business models that can help reduce dependence on imported materials and strengthen regional supply chains.
Through this Pan-American collaboration, PACES aims to ensure long-term resource conservation—including habitats, critical raw materials, energy, and human capital— while balancing environmental protection with economic growth and social equity. This regional approach to sustainability helps create solutions that benefit both current and future generations across the Americas and beyond.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
To be considered to present a poster at PACES 2026, submit an original abstract via the PACES website no later than October 10, 2025. Faxed, e-mailed, and late abstracts are not accepted. State explicitly in the abstract the work’s objectives, new results, and conclusions or significance.
After the submission deadline, symposium organizers evaluate abstracts for content and relevance to the PACES topics, then schedule accepted submissions as poster presentations. Letters of Acceptance notifying presenting authors of abstract acceptance and presentation date, time, and location are emailed in November 2025.
POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Poster presentations must be in English. Print posters in A0 format (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm or 33.1 in x 46.8 in) and label them with the abstract number and day of presentation as printed in the final program. All authors must be available to physically present their posters during the time scheduled in the final program.
MEETING PUBLICATIONS
PACES Meeting Abstracts – All abstracts associated with a presentation at PACES 2026 are published in the ECS Digital Library approximately six months after the meeting closes. All abstracts are copyrighted by ECS and become ECS’s property upon presentation. All published abstracts are freely available from the ECS Digital Library.
ECS Journals – Authors presenting at PACES 2026 are encouraged to submit their work to ECS’s technical journals: Journal of The Electrochemical Society (JES), ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology (JSS), ECS Advances (ECSA), and ECS Sensors Plus (ECSSP). Although there is no hard deadline for submitting these papers, six months from the symposium date is considered sufficient time to revise a paper to meet stricter journal criteria. Author instructions are on the ECS website
MEETING REGISTRATION
All participants, including presenters and invited speakers, are required to pay the applicable registration fees. Registration information is posted on the meeting website as it becomes available. The deadline for discounted early registration is February 9, 2026.
