Support for Local LAN and ICT Infrastructure We offer separate support services for this please refer to our Technical Support for Curriculum Networks service definition.
5) The options for Superfast Broadband for Schools and Ultrafast Broadband for Schools are dependent on the national rollout of Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) and Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) being carried out by industry supplier Openreach. Openreach is regulated by Ofcom and all broadband providers are dependent on Openreach's timeline for the national rollout of these services.
8) Our Superfast Broadband Service for Schools (Up to 80Mbps Download and up to 20Mbps Upload) is delivered as either Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) or where possible Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)
What’s excluded?
For further information on our services please contact 0300 123 6797 or email EducationDigitalServices@Lancashire.gov.uk
Additional information
3) All service options are subject to geographic and network coverage availability.
Broadband Relocation The costs for work to change the location or type of the broadband equipment and connection in your school are excluded.
What are the terms and conditions for our broadband services?
4) For new customers and upgrades, connection is subject to additional installation and configuration charges and may incur Third Party excess construction charges. Please contact our Business Relationship Managers at EducationDigitalServices@Lancashire.gov.uk for a quote.
7) Our Ultrafast Broadband Service for Schools is based on a fibre line from your nearest Openreach cabinet. All bandwidth headline figures for download and upload are subject to reductions to cover service overheads, but should your bandwidth drop significantly or your broadband performance deteriorate, we will class this as a fault and will work to resolve this according to our resolution targets (see our Service Levels in our General Terms and Conditions or on our website).
6) We can only offer Ultrafast Broadband for Schools (FTTP) in areas enabled by Openreach and where we are able to connect back to the CLEO network. If Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) is not available we may be able to offer Fibre-to-the-Premises on Demand (FTTPoD), however this will be subject to availability and excess construction charges. If your school is interested in this option please contact our Business Relationship Managers at EducationDigitalServices@Lancashire.gov.uk for a quote.

10) Once connected, if your Superfast Broadband Service download speed drops below 16Mbps, we will investigate as a fault, with our suppliers.
11) All broadband connections are subject to bandwidth deductions for connection protocol overheads. The bandwidth stated is prior to these deductions and is based on a measurement when connecting directly to a port on the broadband router we provide. Your school's Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure can lead to reductions in bandwidth available at each local device on the School's Local Area Network (LAN).
13) Bandwidth on most of our 10Mbps services is symmetrical (not guaranteed for radio links) and subject to service management overheads, but we will endeavour to deliver a target minimum speed of 9.5Mbps. (Some links can deliver an unguaranteed capacity up to 30Mbps. No additional charges will apply if your school's link delivers this additional capacity). If your speed drops below the target minimum bandwidth, or your broadband performance deteriorates, we will class this as a fault and will work to resolve this according to our resolution targets.

14) During 2022/2023, we will continue our programme to automatically upgrade our existing 10Mbps service customers to Superfast Broadband for Schools, subject to Openreach infrastructure availability in your school's geographical location. We will check the maximum download and upload speeds achievable for your School before we migrate you to Superfast Broadband. If the upload speed is predicted to be below 7.5Mbps we will not automatically transfer your school but discuss the options with you.
depending on Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) availability within the local area. Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) is based on a single copper line from your nearest Openreach cabinet. Service performance of Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) will vary, dependent on the distance of your School from the Superfast Broadband enabled green cabinet serving your school and the number of users in your area. Please note that Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) suppliers cannot guarantee bandwidths and your bandwidth may vary or may not reach maximum figures stated.
15) We also offer 40Mbps, 100Mbps, 200Mbps, 500Mbps and 1Gbps fibre services based on either leased fibre or dark fibre to your school premises from our nearest network presence. Bandwidth is subject to small service overheads, but should your bandwidth drop significantly or your broadband
9) Should your upload speed for your Superfast Broadband connection fall below 7.5Mbps, we will install an extra superfast broadband connection, which we will "bond" to your main connection to increase the upload bandwidth available to your school. We may, at our sole discretion, decide to deliver your school's Superfast Broadband Service for Schools (Up to 80Mbps Download and up to 20 Mbps Upload) as Fibre to the Premises on Demand (FTTPoD), installed as up to 80Mbps Download and up to 20 Mbps Upload.
Definition 2022 2023
12) Our 10Mbps broadband service is delivered as bandwidth and not by technology type. We reserve the right to change the technology providing your connection at any time. Our 10Mbps service is delivered using either: multiple bonded copper circuits; or 10Mbps bandwidth delivered over a 100Mbps fibre bearer; or dark fibre to your school premises from our nearest network presence; or by a radio link from our nearest network mast. The multiple bonded copper circuits provide improved resilience over single copper circuits. A single circuit failure will not result in your School losing broadband connectivity, but the bandwidth available will be reduced.
Sometimes, for example due to building works, it's impossible to avoid relocating the broadband connection. In the event your School cannot avoid such a request, please give us a minimum of four (4) months’ notice, as sometimes the works involved can be significant and require us to engage our specialist Service Providers. We will need to assess the work involved. Please contact our Business Relationship Managers at EducationDigitalServices@Lancashire.gov.uk for a quote.
