2020 ARCHIBALD PRIZE REGIONAL TOUR
RAPHAEL REVEALED – EXHIBITION ON SCREEN In his brief career, Raphael shaped the course of Western culture like few artists before or since. Marking the 500th anniversary of his death, the greatest exhibition ever held of his works took place in Rome. With over 200 masterpieces – many of which have been brought together for the first time – this major exhibition celebrates the life and work of Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino. More than just a painter, Raphael was one of the most extraordinary artists of the Renaissance, but is often misunderstood or mythologised. This film, based on the extraordinary Rome exhibition, allows Raphael, for the first time, to be truly revealed. Wednesday 20 January, 3pm at Byron Theatre. Bookings: byroncentre.com.au
