MINI GIG GUIDE
BY LILITH
This week saves the best till last with next Tuesday’s Aquarian full moon bringing a breath of fresh air to shake off stagnant habits, break out of tired routines, explore new alternatives… ARIES: Fiery and forthright about what you need, hmmm... impatient, in-your-face Aries mode could possibly be a bit much for this week’s button pushers and control freaks. Never mind, just try not to overheat, and schedule get-togethers with your likeminded tribe of innovative originals during the full moon early next week.

TAURUS: There’s a feisty element to this week’s interactions with others, some who’s-theboss-of-what jostling in interpersonal and family dynamics. Good news? Next Tuesday’s lunar lift could bring a turning point in your life: a realisation, culmination, offer or proposal that manifests out of the blue. Bring it on!

PERMANENTLY KATO
Q BEACH HOTEL, BYRON BAY, 7PM JESS BALFOUR
Garrett Kato had a huge 2019; playing sold-out shows with folk singer-songwriter Damien Rice, his first co-headline tour of Europe and the UK with Riley Pearce, and a tour of North America with household name Ziggy Alberts. So when this platinum award winning Byron Bay-based producer went into iso, it was the perfect time to record some new tunes. The Canadian born Garrett Kato – who was busking five gigs a week in Byron, before having his songs become box office hits after being picked up for the soundtrack of Bad Moms, has just released his new track Permanently. It’s a bit of a sonic evolution for Garrett with glimmers of lo-fi RnB threaded throughout his signature song writing rooted in folk. It was self-written, recorded, produced and mixed at Garrett’s home studio in Byron Bay. The song is available everywhere today via Nettwerk Music. Garrett remains hopeful about the easing of restrictions internationally, and recently announced an upcoming UK and Europe tour with Pierce Brothers, in Jan / Feb 2021. The news comes following Garrett signing with London-based Paul Boswell, at Free Trade Agency, earlier in 2020. You can find all the dates on his website www.garrettkatomusic.com.

CANCER: Me-first citizens who suck all the air out of the room could burst a few of your carefully preserved bubbles this week. Not to worry though, because Tuesday’s full moon in your togetherness zone sets the scene for nourishing one-onone time with your nearest and dearest, or else booking in a creative business discussion. LEO: Yes, it’s your personal Cirque du Soleil cycle, but bigger isn’t necessarily better, or faster more efficient. Best check information before passing it on, or expect kickback if it’s not accurate. Full moon in your house of partnerships could bring a turning point of sayonara to what’s passed, and ‘Hullo!’ to a surprise offer.

VIRGO: Feedback could be ill-received or blown out of proportion this week, so set your inner critic to observe and take notes while kindly Virgo does the talking. Focus on common ground in disputes rather than complain about differences. Tuesday’s full moon energises a goal or ambition, so set your intention and get stuck into it. LIBRA: This week may over-promise or give inflated estimates. Or else negotiations could get aggressive and inflexible, in which case apply charm, diplomacy and large doses of your signature Venusian velvet. But it’s also a time when creative inspiration can suddenly arrive to stoke a passionate pursuit, so tune into Tuesday’s joyful, playful full moon. SCORPIO: You may need to take extra measures this week to stay calm concerning your role in a major mission. Tune into what people are not saying, watch body language, read between the lines, ask the important questions. If full moon loosens deep feelings for an emotional breakthrough, a caring conversation could alleviate someone else’s fears. SAGITTARIUS: It’s a heated week. If you need to get earthed, work in the garden or walk in the park. Resist getting sucked into the vortex of group dynamics or taking sides. If the full moon’s friendly warmth ignites a short-term project, engage the outside brain, or at least an extra set of eyes and ears. CAPRICORN: The current planetary weather report predicts a spate of stubborn standoffs, and Capricorns aren’t famous for their flexibility. So why not try listening to the opposition this week – perhaps they actually have something worth considering? Then treat yourself during weekend Capricorn moon to a luxe reward for all your efforts. AQUARIUS: This could be a fairly frisky week of dodging stressful people and emotional outbursts. But perhaps those people don’t need your advice, and just want to be heard…? Whatever, Tuesday’s one and only Aquarius full moon for 2020 issues an invite to exercise your personal Aqua superpower of thinking outside the box. PISCES: If this week finds you in a rule-breaking mood, don’t let emotions skew your judgment. Read the room, tune into your audience. Should communications hit a roadblock, remember today’s failure is tomorrow’s breakthrough. Tuesday’s mystic full moon could download some information about that, and it’s a super romantic bonding moon as well…
