NINBELLA GALLERY
My current artwork since April 2019 looks at how to balance areas of intricate nuance with a spacious expanse and how entities that are neither can connect the two. As I work on this theme it seems to reflect everything about the ordinary art of living.

Through inventive abstract painting I find surreptitious ways of resolving intricate busyness with spaciousness, allowing both to coexist with humour and homage. I rarely blend colours on the canvas but rather expose with clarity the building of the painting – finding some sense of honesty in using literal brushmarks. I relish the art of forming a really good brushmark. My paintings are a mix of dichotomies.
How I feel overwhelmed that I want to simplify life, but then how I want Through my work as a qualified Art to live life to the full and engage Therapist, and my studies, I have in everything. How my garden sits maintained a constant art practice graciously spacious, but then there with exhibits in group shows and is room for food trees. Enjoying several solo exhibitions. Now the expanse of the desert, but retired, I am a full time artist and longing for the next town to break therefor more prolific in the studio. monotony. My relationships too; dynamic or still. Showing at Ninbella Galley. 19a Byron Street, Bangalow.
WRITING WORKSHOPS FOR ALL WALKS OF LIFE This October, Byron Writers Festival is offering two special workshops for writers and copywriters. The Business of Writing, with Anneli Knight is a one-day workshop this Saturday 12 October. If you want to turn your passion and flair for writing into a reliable income and base for a business, then this workshop will give you the vision and strategy to make it happen! Structural Editing for Writers, with Dr Laurel Cohn is for writers of fiction and narrative non-fiction with a completed draft manuscript. This three-day course explains structural editing, the role it plays in manuscript development, how to go about it, and how to survive it, and includes a one-on-one session with Laurel. byronwritersfestival.com/whats-on
ARTISTS ARTISTS, LISTEN UP!! INGENUITY, your local sculpture festival, has breaking news. We have extended our closing date for submissions till 13 October 11.59pm (just before midnight). An anonymous benefactor came forward to donate the $8000 RGoL Choice Award. We still have the $500 Christina Khumari People’s Choice Award. On top of this, we have great hopes that we will be able to announce another $5000 award by 26 October. We are also calling on the community to support the festival through volunteering or a small donation. This year we are receiving very little government funding and need community help to prove ourselves, and to win financial support for the coming years. For more info contact www.ingenuityfest.com.au
