Ballina Food & Wine Festival is an event where attendees can indulge their senses with quality food, wine, beer, spirits, entertainment, cooking demonstrations and beverage appreciation sessions in a fun, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary – isn’t that something to celebrate?

craft beers, ciders and spirits will be available to sample and glasses and bottles of wine, beer and ciders are available to purchase to enjoy on the day or to take home. Winemakers and brewers are on hand to talk about products and share their knowledge at information sessions. This is a unique opportunity to interact with the experts. There will be cooking demonstrations by Terase Davidson from Taste Byron Bay, who is also a regular food writer for this newspaper, and Simon Jones, the Executive Chef of Elements of Byron. International culinary chef Sean Connolly from Balcony Bar & Oyster Co will also be cooking up a storm for patrons to sample.

Live entertainment will be presented throughout the afternoon by Rachael Beck, accompanied by David Cameron, Jed Zarb, The Mumblers and Kathryn Jones. Entry to the Sunday event is for over 18s only. Photo ID is required for entry. Festival Tickets are $25 which includes complementary wine glass & lanyard and glass of sparkling wine on arrival.

Leave the car at home and take the festival bus ($5 return trip) that will be running around the region from Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, Bangalow, Suffolk Park, Lennox Head, Lismore, Goonellabah, Wollongbar, Alstonville and Ballina. Tickets to the Sunday festival are available at The Cellar bottle shops in Byron Bay and Bangalow, online from ballinafoodandwine.com.au, and at the gate. This festival is run and organised by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Ballina-on-Richmond. Funds raised from the festival will be used to support the Ballina Domestic Violence Liaison Committee and a number of their Domestic & Family Violence preventative and educational programs. These Programs are vital and make a difference to individuals and families. Funds raised from our festival will help stop the impact, sadness and pain of domestic violence experienced by many adults and children in Ballina and surrounding areas.
