COMMUNITY INITIATIVES PROGRAM (SECTION 356) OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS Council’s Community Initiatives Program aims to improve community wellbeing and quality of life for Byron Shire residents. Council invite applications for community driven initiatives that address a specific community need which builds a sense of community, and aligns with Council’s goals. Guidelines, including the assessment criteria, and an application form can be downloaded from Council’s website at www.byron.nsw.gov.au/ Community/Supporting-communities/Funding-opportunities Applicants need to: • read the guidelines to understand if their organisation and project are eligible for funding; • show a matching contribution to the proposed project as outlined in the guidelines; • complete an application form on the template provided. Council is proposing to licence part Lot 444 Section 28 DP 758207, 35 Carlyle Street Byron Bay, known as the Byron Community Cabin, for a period of one (1) year to the Byron Bay Community Association for the purpose of a community hall.

The Events and Festivals Sponsorship fund is an annual fund that enables Council to partner with local homegrown and emerging events to help grow their economic and environmental sustainability.

Council is proposing to lease office and storage space in the Cavanbah Centre being Lot 3 DP 706286, 249 Ewingsdale Road Byron Bay, to AFL Queensland for a term of five (5) years.

In accordance with Section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993 interested parties are invited to make submissions about this proposal within 28 days.
