Good Life

A smart choice – Froth Cafe At a recent visit to Froth Café the pies were so inviting that my dining partner and I couldn’t resist ordering the same meal: topped with buttery pastry, with a satisfying chicken filling, and awash with a flavoursome leek sauce. The sign of a good pie is when an Aussie is not compelled to smother it with tomato sauce. Thankfully, this was one of those gourmet pies where the flavour spoke for itself, with no need to plump it up with condiments. We resolved that Froth’s pies are likely to impress the most discerning pie enthusiast. The Chicken and Leek pies shared their plate with a combination of snap-fresh salads, glistening with crisp and healthy ingredients; a testament to the owner’s passion for fresh produce. Relatively new owner Amery Waterhouse has sparkled-up the premises and created an enticing breakfast and lunch menu. For time-poor diners, we found there is plenty of ready-made fare to choose from for quick bites. Some delectable offerings are Chicken and Mushroom Filo pastry, Salami Sandwiches, oozy Beef Lasagne and an Asianinspired Chicken San Choy Bau. From the menu, Froth’s organicbun burgers pack a mighty punch to the hunger pangs for just $15. Vegetarians are sorted with Vege Frittata, filling salads and nourishing veg bowls. Breakfast treats abound starting with Froth’s comforting classic:

bacon and egg on organic seeded bun with house relish for $10. Or diners can stock up on their antioxidants with an abundant Açai Bowl, filled with banana, medjool dates, crispy coconut flakes, activated caramelised buckinis and fresh fruit for $14.50. Froth’s cobblestone outdoor dining is surrounded by tropical gardens. There’s some convenient offroad parking nearby so it’s easy to duck in for a quick cuppa, coffee or smoothies. It’s an inviting space to enjoy some autumn sun and linger over a hazelnut brownie or blueberry muffin. If you feel like exploring Life Cykel range of healthy liquid extracts, Froth can give your coffee a boost with some extract drops. The various extracts can boost energy, induce relaxation and improve skin and health. Having tried the Lion’s Mane Brain Health elixir, which is said to improve cognitive function and brain health, we left Froth feeling we might be just that little bit wiser. Froth Byron Bay. Open 7am till 3pm. 1B Banksia Drive, Byron Bay Arts and Industry Estate.
