This year in ECCO, this and last semester both, I have really found my place in the community. I love the friends I have made. I will also cherish the memories I have made. Not only being on executive board, but working hard to branch out and get more involved in the community has given me an amazing sense of belonging that I have longed for.

ADRIENNE DEVORE My favorite part about ECCO was making so many new, amazing friends! I have also enjoyed being in field placement!

DANNY WATSON My favorite part of ECCO was without a doubt Curriculum night. It was great to see so many kids get excited about learning. I worked the Australia station with Sara Rayburn, and our game was for the kids to answer a question, and then they got to peg me with a ball. It was the sacrifice I was willing to make for education. Overall it was a great time, and at the end of the night we got free pizza and a few of us went to Dairy Queen, and it was a great night overall.

KRISTEN TABESH My favorite part of ECCO is Field Placement and Executive Board. I am so proud of all of the events that my branch has put on this semester and all of the hard work they have put into this amazing organization. I also am very thankful for my placement teacher, who has been amazing mentor and inspiration to me

CALEB WYSE My favorite part of ECCO has obviously been the friends I have made not only just in the Learning Community, but also in the classrooms I have had the pleasure of observing in. I have also loved being able to join Executive Board and help run ECCO and the amazing programs that it offers. We have so many hard working hands! GO TEACHERS!

RACHAEL SCARMACK

A couple of weeks ago, I walked into my 4th grade classroom and I noticed my supervisor teacher was wearing a t-shirt that said “KEEP CALM and ROCK THE TEST!” When she saw my confused look, she explained that all the staff members are wearing these shirts to get the students pumped for the OAA. Along with having the staff members wear those shirts, the school had the teachers and students decorate their doors and they had a pep rally. I think it’s really awesome to use fun, creative ways to get the students pumped for the OAA.

For the pep rally each classroom had to make a poster with their cheer on it. This was the 4th grade cheer.

My supervisor teacher’s door. Our students loved decorating the door. They really loved using lots of glitter too.

PARTY BUS SEMESTER I enjoyed field placement this semester! My kids are doing science projects, and it feels so cool to help them figure out how to ask questions, be a subject in their experiment, and how to use Microsoft Word. Also, we had a party bus this semester‌ don’t know why.

TONY JOHNSON ECCO introduced me to some of my closest friends at BGSU and has given me numerous opportunities to work first hand in the classroom.

AMANDA LAMMERMEIER I absolutely loved both my field placements this semester! It was so great getting to do two placements. I got to work with first graders and third graders. Both teachers were also first year teachers and gaining knowledge from them was incredible. I enjoy every minute of these experiences. I truly feel this semester has been one of the best semesters of my college years thus far and I cannot wait for what’s in store.
