Western Alaska Ministry Training Pastoral Ministry Curriculum WAMT exists “to train ministry pastors and leaders for western Alaska churches.”
Under the direction of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Alaska, the Board of Ordered Ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church has authorized ECCAK to pilot the WAMT program as an alternative ordination tract for western Alaska pastors. ECCAK will conduct evaluation of the program and report to the Board of Ordered Ministry on the development and effectiveness of the program. An academic cabinet has been formed and under their guidance, the following courses have been established as the initial curriculum for those pursuing pastoral ministry training and an alternative ordination tract. It may be altered in the future as we evaluate the progress of WAMT. A more thorough application process will be established for those who desire to have WAMT fulfill the requirements for ordination. Some courses will fulfill requirements for Covenant Orientation (CO), which is designed for those licensed pastors who have not attended the Covenant Church’s seminary. Those courses have (CO) following their name. Bible and Theology (2-3 credits each, TBD)
